About Me

My photo
Behind Every Cloud is a Kindred Spirit (BECKS)I lost my grandfather when I was 17. I had a VERY difficult time getting over it. How could I still communicate with him? I loved him so much I didn't think I could live without him. I read everything I could get my hands on to do with the "afterlife" and that started it all...the love of Ghost Hunting and the Paranormal. I have been researching the paranormal for over 37 years!! It is my way of staying in touch with my grandfather. Being a Ghost Hunter is not always as exciting as it seems on TV. Many nights I have sat in the dark and not a thing happened. BUT it is those times you DO get that one voice, that one explainable picture or have an experience that sends chills down your back that makes it sooo worth it all!!! My purpose of this blog is not to make people believe in ghosts but maybe to open their minds just a little bit... I LOVE this crazy thing called Ghost Hunting. It is as much a part of me as breathing. I am just a girl that refuses to accept we can't still contact our loved ones after they die. My grandfather won't let me.

Lets talk ORBS

Ok.  Lets talk Orbs.  The most common question I get is what is an "Orb"   Lets say that the definition of an Orb is like the soul of a departed person. The soul being the essence of who they were in life, complete with their intelligence, their emotions and their personality.

Orbs have always been a part of the paranormal, even before the chase was on.  Native Americans sometimes called them Tei Pai Wankas and believed seeing them was like coming upon dead relatives.  The term Will-o-the-Wisp was used by Europeans later, but the idea was basically the same.  Orbs were thought to be the spirits who had enough energy to be made partly whole and were mainly seen with the naked eye.  Detractors saw them as either semi-explosive natural gases or the imagination.

Actually, 99 percent of orb pictures can be dismissed just by looking at the evidence.  This means consider the conditions and the location first.  Were you in a dusty location, were you outside right after a rain storm, was the wind blowing, where there bugs, where there others snapping pictures at the same time, and could it be a reflection of small lights of something in the room or camera?  These are all questions you should ask yourself.  Right?  Because as a ghost hunter, you want to disprove these questions.

So, here's the deal.  Check your pictures closely and if you can do not use the flash.  It doesn't make for great pictures but it will help eliminate some flash issues of reflection.  Because remember 99% of orb pictures can be explained, but as for that other 1%...hope your the one that grabs it!!

Feel free to tell me your opinion on orbs.  Some believe they should not be considered at all in the paranormal, but what do you think?

Emily Morgan 1-21-12

This is in the main Lobby of the Emily Morgan Hotel.
We did not really have any experiences in this hotel with such reports of shadows, odors, and other stories of paranormal activity.  This is about the only picture we got that had anything interesting in it.

The Emily Morgan Hotel was once the Medical Arts Building which was constructed in 1924.  It is one of the most recognizable buildings in San Antonio.  The tower is 13 stories tall and made of reinforced concrete and glazed terra cotta.  The Gothic revival influence of the period is quite noticeable in this building.  One of the most interesting features are the terra cotta gargoyles that depict various medical aliments such as toothaches, etc. on the outside of the building.

The 7th and 12th floors seem to be the most active.  Reports of noises, smells of alcohol, and being touched are common on the 7th Floor.  ( but just our luck, we didn't feel a thing)

This is the view of the Emily Morgan from the Alamo.(RIGHT)  It is a very beautiful hotel in any light.

We also visited the Alamo around 2:00am and again didn't get anything exciting.  Guess that the way it goes being a ghost hunter....sometimes you win...and sometimes you spend a lot of time taking pictures of nothing. lol

Vegas Baby

So back in 2008, some friends of mine and I went to Vegas.  We had the best time.  They took me down to the Rio and was showing me a wine cellar below the casino.  If you have not been there, you should so go.  It is way cool!  Anyway, one of my friends was posing like he was going to open the door to some very, very old wine worth thousands of dollars.  I am thinking he wasn't the only one wanting a glass of wine.  What do you think? :)  It's really funny how when you know what to look for, you can see orbs that you may have over looked before.

Hope everyone had a great new year by the way.
