About Me

My photo
Behind Every Cloud is a Kindred Spirit (BECKS)I lost my grandfather when I was 17. I had a VERY difficult time getting over it. How could I still communicate with him? I loved him so much I didn't think I could live without him. I read everything I could get my hands on to do with the "afterlife" and that started it all...the love of Ghost Hunting and the Paranormal. I have been researching the paranormal for over 37 years!! It is my way of staying in touch with my grandfather. Being a Ghost Hunter is not always as exciting as it seems on TV. Many nights I have sat in the dark and not a thing happened. BUT it is those times you DO get that one voice, that one explainable picture or have an experience that sends chills down your back that makes it sooo worth it all!!! My purpose of this blog is not to make people believe in ghosts but maybe to open their minds just a little bit... I LOVE this crazy thing called Ghost Hunting. It is as much a part of me as breathing. I am just a girl that refuses to accept we can't still contact our loved ones after they die. My grandfather won't let me.

My new friends from Ghost Hunters International

Well, finally I got to meet Britt and Dustin from Ghost Hunters International!!!!!  We had a great time in Galveston.  They are very funny and a lot of fun.

I wish I could report back that we got awesome pics from the investigation, but we did not!  Very disappointing.  We where the first group of "ghost hunters" to ever be allowed to do an investigation in the Menard House in Galveston.  We did find out a lot of "behind the scenes" kinda stuff, but not a lot of activity in the house.  The only really cool thing was Dustin was using a radio frequency to try and communicate and we could hear words...like "hello" and he asked if their where more than one spirit present and we heard "yes".  We where able to hear several words, answers to questions, but past that.... nothing! :(

Sorry the pic is sideways, because of the camera I could not edit it to post right.  The above pic is when Dustin was trying to communicate with Mr. Menard, the original owner of the house.

I am sorry, I don't have any cool pics to post. I only have, what I feel, is a couple of pics with orbs in them.

Well, off to Decatur, Ill next month for the Annual Haunted America Conference with Troy Taylor.  I am expecting LOTS more excitement then.

The Menard House

This is the house I am investigating tomorrow night with the TAPS team from Ghost Hunters. Came down to Galveston early to check it out. It is way creepy from the outside! Just wait until tomorrow night completely in the dark. I'll keep y'all posted.

To the person who ask me about getting rid of a ghost

I am just checking on you...I am sorry I don't know your name but you ask me what you should do with a presence in your home.  Did you try any of my suggestions?  And how have things been lately with the activity?  Hope all is well with you...please just check in with me so I will know you are ok.  Thanks.

Haunted America Conference 2012

Ok.  So everyone knows I am a huge fan of Troy Taylor.  He has written many, many books and lots of people ask for advice with the Paranormal because of his reputation of speaking openly and honestly.  He is the founder of America's Ghost Society.  Their annual conference is coming up on June 22-23 and you don't want to miss it!!!  I have been to these conferences many times and they are great! I wouldn't miss them!  Two days of....speakers, stories, pictures, investigations all on the Paranormal.  This is a GREAT time if you enjoy ghost hunting.    Below is a link to the Conference.  Hope to see everyone there!!!

Every ghost hunter needs one

So I wanted to share with you this great little night light that I ran across. It is a super bright green led cap light. It is great for night hunts and you can get this one at Walmart for about $6 or $7. Just one of the inexpensive things to through in your bag. Happy hunting!

Mc Broom Cemetery-what do you think?

So, I need your help.  I went to visit my brother in Arkansas this past weekend and we did a little ghost hunting around where he lives in Kingston, Arkansas.  We came across the Mc Broom Cemetery that sits up on a hill all by itself.

In all the years of investigating cemeteries, I have not ever ran across one like this.  It had several grave markers that were shaped like coffins.  Some little, some big, facing all different directions. The earliest settlers had their feet pointing toward the east and the head of the coffin toward the west, ready to rise up and face the "new day" (the sun) when "the trumpet shall sound and the dead shall be raised" or when Christ would appear and they would be reborn.  So, I really don't understand the way these people were laid to rest. hhuummm  I really feel the coffin markers are the actual size of the casket that was laid to rest beneath them because the baby's were very small and the adults larger.

I am very curious about these "coffin" shaped tombstones.  The best I can find out is that back in the 1700's the stone coffin marker was set on top of the actual casket. I wish I could read the dates on the tombstones, but they had all eroded over time.  I just think it is odd that I have been in some really old cemeteries and NONE of them had these kind of tombstones.
If you know anything about these coffin shaped tombstones I would LOVE to know about them.  I posted several pics of this really "cool" cemetery.

So, what do you think?  Aren't these really "creepy"?  You should see them at night! lol

McBroom Cemetery

This is an old cemetery in Arkansas. It had tons of infant graves and unusual markers. I will post those in the next couple of days. I am trying out my mobile app for my blog. :))
