About Me

My photo
Behind Every Cloud is a Kindred Spirit (BECKS)I lost my grandfather when I was 17. I had a VERY difficult time getting over it. How could I still communicate with him? I loved him so much I didn't think I could live without him. I read everything I could get my hands on to do with the "afterlife" and that started it all...the love of Ghost Hunting and the Paranormal. I have been researching the paranormal for over 37 years!! It is my way of staying in touch with my grandfather. Being a Ghost Hunter is not always as exciting as it seems on TV. Many nights I have sat in the dark and not a thing happened. BUT it is those times you DO get that one voice, that one explainable picture or have an experience that sends chills down your back that makes it sooo worth it all!!! My purpose of this blog is not to make people believe in ghosts but maybe to open their minds just a little bit... I LOVE this crazy thing called Ghost Hunting. It is as much a part of me as breathing. I am just a girl that refuses to accept we can't still contact our loved ones after they die. My grandfather won't let me.

Avon Theater in Decatur,Ill-June 2012-Video

Ok.  Check out the video from the Avon Theater in Decatur, Ill.  Hang with me, we had already begun communicating when I started to video, so it's a little slow in the beginning.

Here's a little history before you watch the video.  Gust was the beloved owner that died and it is said to be haunted by his spirit.  Lots of footsteps, sounds and strange things seem to go on here.

We received the name Tom on one of our devices so we tried to communicate with "Tom".  No one at this time had heard of Tom, not the owners, not the video crew, nor the tour guides of the Avon. So this was way exciting for us amateurs!

You will see that the spirit we are communicating with CLEARLY wants us to leave, so we leave and go to a different floor, not because we are scared, because we are being respectful of the spirits wishes.  Sorry, you will hear how excited we are about capturing this on film. lol

We had several experiences in addition to the video. We heard very LOUD footsteps coming up the stairs and yet no one was there.  As we where setting up for another taping...I sat the flashlight on a balcony.  It had been setting there for a few minutes as we where setting up and all the sudden it was like someone pushed it really hard and it rolled down the balcony!!!  We all saw it and no one was near it when it began to roll.  But something or someone diffently pushed it hard!

It was an awesome night and there's more to tell you guys, but for now, hope you enjoy the video.

Child watching in wonder????

So, just got home from a wonderful time in Decatur, Ill at the American Ghost Society Conference.  Have lots of pics and video's to share but going to take me a little time.

Just breezing through the pictures really quick and found this one interesting.  To me, looks like a young child(possibly a little boy) laying his head on the ledge peeking out as if to say "wonder what's going on"?  Did we wake someone with all our noise?

What do you think?  Could be my imagine....and wishful thinking.

** I loaded the pics in spectra so it would be easier to see.  Plus, I am still learning how to use all my "editing" tools so bare with me as I play around with that. lol

Happy hunting..

Part 2-Dry Creek Cemetery-Better than 1-Video

Ok.  Check this out.  It is part 2 of the Dry Creek Cemetery.  It was filmed first before the one I posted earlier.  You can CLEARLY see in this video that NO ONE in the group was tampering with the video.  Where this video ends is where the other one picks up so you will hear the crossover again.

You will hear me talk about cigarettes.  The K-2 meters where really going crazy when we talked about Billy liking cigarettes (I had read that he likes you to leave him one) so we had walked over and laid one at the base of the tree.  That is when we started getting interaction with the flashlight.

I will have one more video to post that shows the K-2 meter lighting up in response to my questions.  I think you will like it as well, but it is taking me a little while to get them on you tube.  Plus getting ready to go to Decatur, Ill this weekend for the investigation on two haunted theaters!  I'm so excited!

Pics of Dry Creek Cemetery-June 16, 2012

The temp was 79 degrees in front of me but
I was freezing to death when I ask "Billy" to stand
behind me.  The temp showed 72 behind me.  I had
visible chill bumps on my arms.

Again beside me.  Was Billy right beside me?
The tombstone you see behind me is William Bicham.
Is Mr. Bicham OUR Billy the Cowboy?

Photo of the flashlight coming on
in response to our questions.

Bright orb

This is above Mr. Bicham's (Billy)
grave.  This is the end or side of the
cemetery that Billy said the portal was.

William Bicham-Is this Billy?

Finally-Our video...Dry Creek Cemetery

So, it's dark but I think you can clearly see we are having interaction with someone...we think it is Billy the Cowboy.  Billy the Cowboy was wrongfully accused of a crime and hung from a tree.  He is said to be a very active spirit and a grumpy one at that.  We found that to be true.  We have more video's coming.  The candle you see is for keeping the bugs away. We had them all around us. If you are ever able to go be sure to take bug spray or candles like we did.  The bugs where bad!

Not only where we getting responses with the flashlight but the K-2 meter was awesome to!  I'll be posting that later.  Don't forget to like the video if you do.  Thanks.

Hope you enjoy the video and please give me your feedback.

Pics from Dry Creek Cemetery

Ok.  Here is a couple of pics from our investigation.  This was late in the night and we where sitting in a group and I just snapped a couple of pics over my shoulders.  You'll notice the time stamp on the two pics.  The first one was over my right shoulder and the second one was over my left. We where sitting in the middle of the cemetery in a group.  What a difference?  We feel that the one with all the orbs in it is where the portal is.  It was by far the most active part of the cemetery.  It is NOT dust, nor had we been walking in that area to stir up dust.  These two pics where taken back to back so if it had been pollen or something in the air...it would have been in all the pics.  This is the only picture we have like this out of all we took.  Not another photo looks like this.

I'll be posting our video on youtube later tonight.  I have so much  more to write and tell you guys about this place.  I am soooo excited to go back!  So give me a little time and I'll post more pics and hopefully our video.  Happy hunting.

Dry Creek Cemetery-AWESOME!

So, I did an investigation at Dry Creek Cemetery in Terrell, Texas last night.  It did not disappoint us!  We have really cool photos, video of communication with who we believe is Billy the Cowboy( a very active spirit) cold spots, portal( maybe yes....maybe no, I'll let ya'll decide) and lots of personal experiences.  I haven't gotten to listen to the EVP's yet, but hope to later tonight.  Give me a day or two and I will get it together and post the video and pics.  There's just so much to go through.

Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads out there and a special Happy Fathers Day to MY Dad who blew me off to go fishing! lol  It's ok Dad.  I love you  very much anyway.

Happy hunting my friends.

Where to find ghosts

Hi everyone.  Thought I would talk about Where to Find Ghosts.  There are so many more places to hunt than just cemeteries and haunted houses.  Lets talk about a few of them.

The Moody Manson, Galveston Tx   I LOVE this place!
Inside the Menard House, Galveston, Tx  I just did an investigation with Ghost Hunters International here.

Homes-Houses may have hauntings due to a tainted past.  Murder, suicide or a tragic event may cause a spirit to remain.  Not all spirits may be pleasant.  Just saying.  The history of the property is also a very important part of understanding the events going on in a home.

Cemeteries- Need I say more???  A place where a bunch of dead people hang out. lol   This certainly offers ghost hunters excellent changes of strange phenomena and spirit photos. And I say that in a respectful way.  The theory is that a cemetery is a place with "portals" or "doorways" where the "dead" can re-enter the "now" world.

Leona Cemetery, Fredricksburg, Tx

Theaters-Theaters are said to be great places to catch a ghost or two.  It is said there is such human emotion inside theaters and that seems to attract spirits.  Plus, usually, there is such great love from the employees and performers that they just can't leave it.  You are sure to hear footsteps, hear voices, laughter and other sounds connected with a show.

Avon Theater, Decatur Ill

I am going to be investigating the Lincoln Theater and the Avon Theater in Decatur, Ill(above) in a couple of weeks.  I am soooo excited!  Going for the Annual American Ghost Society Conference.  Two days of pure ghost stories, paranormal activity and tons of ghost buddies.  lol  Can't wait!  Man, that does make me sound like a "crazy" person.  I guess I should have a more "normal" hobby like knitting....yeah....I don't think so.  Just not me. lol

Churches-Churches can also retain a wide range of human emotion.  Churches are investigated for many of the same reasons as theaters.  Rather than being a frightening type of ghost, they have comforting and good works types.  Of course, to some a ghost is a ghost!  And they are scary anyway you look at it. lol

First Presbyterian Church of Alton, Ill

I did an overnight investigation here a couple of years ago and it was awesome!  Some of my best pics are from here.

Hotels-  You can usually find, with some research, that a hotel is haunted due to someone dieing in the hotel.  Suicide, murder, rapes, assaults and even mysterious death are sometimes linked to a hotel.  Below are photo's I took at the Menger Hotel in San Antonio.  I stayed  there so that I could do my research paper for my Paranormal Certification. I got an "Excellent" on my paper by the way.  This is BY FAR one of the most haunted places in the US.  I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!

Gutson Borlum was the sculpture of Mount Rushmore.  I believe this is the face I captured in the courtyard at the Menger.  The manager of the Menger told me he used to set in the courtyard and work on his plans for Mount Rushmore.

Battlefields and Crime Scenes-Of course you can guess the reason for this...because of the great violence that has taken place.  Sudden loss of life can sometimes cause a spirit to linger behind in confusion. The phrase "spirits has unfinished business" certainly hold true in locations of crime scenes or battlefields.  There are tons of reports of seeing lines of Civil War troops still marching to battle or where they hear the sounds of gunfire, screams and cries from long ago.  I have not done an investigation on a battlefield yet but hope to someday soon.

I think that is enough about places to find ghosts.  Hope you enjoyed the suggestions.  Happy hunting my friends.

Poem on Becky the Ghost Hunter

So, I just have to share this with everyone.  A good friend of mine, named Damian who is a writer and a poet, wrote me a poem. I loved it so much I wanted you guys to read it!  Thank you again Damian, I love it!  How cool is it to have someone write a poem about you!
  • "Becky The Ghost Hunter"

She hunts for the things that go bump in the night
Her vision is escalated by the moons amber light

Her fear of the unknown , to some might be daring
But this hunter of ghosts is cunning and caring.

She does what she does with skill and with grace
and defies the odds to capture that face

That hides in the mist and it's tales it does hide
from the outside realm of those it does chide.

She keeps in her mind that these ghosts have a need
to find their way out and it is her who will lead

Them to the promise land and the light, there not alone
For Becky the ghost hunter will lead them all home.

Now you see it, now you don't!

This was taken by a friend of mine(who's name I won't say, right Randy C.) who lives way out in the country in Walnut Bend, Tx.  He was setting up a motion camera to see if  anything was coming up to his feeder during the night.  This is down near an old family cemetery hidden in the woods.  Now, the cemetery is not his "family" it is of another family that was buried on the property when he bought it.

Anyway, he sent me these photos.  You can see an orb in the first picture and a date and time stamp at the bottom.  Now, for the camera to go off there has to be motion. Right?  So right in the middle of the page you can clearly see an orb.  And in the second picture....gone one second later.   Now, if you look really closely in the first picture, you can see a tail of what I think must have been a raccoon.  But here's the part that doesn't make since to me.  If the raccoon set off the motion detector, then the raccoon would be in the center of the page.  There are no delays on the motion sensor because then you would miss what set it off.  I think that maybe the raccoon was frightened by the flash and left.  I'm not sure IT was what set the camera off.  What do you think?  Any guys that hunt or have feeders I would love to get your feedback.

One more thing, and it has nothing to do with this posting.  I am working on the COOLEST Picture EVER to show you guys and has a great story behind it as well.  I don't want to post it just yet, but it is going to be worth the wait.  When my blog reaches 7,000 views I am going to post it.  So stay tuned, you won't want to miss it! hheehhee just a teaser...

SCARY DRY CREEK CEMETERY

So one of my followers suggested that I do an investigation at a cemetery called Dry Creek Cemetery near Terrell, Tx.  I have not done any investigations in that area so I am excited to give it a try.  The more I read about this cemetery, the more intrigued I am about it. There are all kinds of EVP recordings, photos and even a reported portal in the corner of the cemetery. How scary is that?  But also how cool!

Paula(one of my favorite followers and the one who suggested this place) had her own experience here.  She said her and her husband went to Dry Creek and just really had creepy feelings.  And I believe you HAVE to pay attention to your "feelings".  She said they found themselves having a strong creepy feeling and they found themselves standing in front of a tombstone with the name William on it.  One of the stories is about a spirit some call Billy the Cowboy.  Seems he is very active. I couldn't really find out anything about Billy the Cowboy but doesn't mean he's not there.
Below I have posted a couple of things I found out about Dry Creek Cemetery.  I hope to do an investigation in the next couple of weeks.
Named for a nearby ravine, this burial ground originally served the community of Turner's Point. Located on the stage road between Shreveport, Louisiana, and Dallas, the settlement was established by Elisha Turner in 1845. In the 1870s the town was moved to a new location (1.5 miles southeast) and renamed Poetry. The earliest marked grave at this site is that of Samuel Key (1840-1871). Now closed for burials, the cemetery has 279 marked graves bearing names of the English, Scottish, Irish, and Welsh pioneer settlers of the area.

Below is a youtube video that is pretty cool.  Check it out.
