About Me

My photo
Behind Every Cloud is a Kindred Spirit (BECKS)I lost my grandfather when I was 17. I had a VERY difficult time getting over it. How could I still communicate with him? I loved him so much I didn't think I could live without him. I read everything I could get my hands on to do with the "afterlife" and that started it all...the love of Ghost Hunting and the Paranormal. I have been researching the paranormal for over 37 years!! It is my way of staying in touch with my grandfather. Being a Ghost Hunter is not always as exciting as it seems on TV. Many nights I have sat in the dark and not a thing happened. BUT it is those times you DO get that one voice, that one explainable picture or have an experience that sends chills down your back that makes it sooo worth it all!!! My purpose of this blog is not to make people believe in ghosts but maybe to open their minds just a little bit... I LOVE this crazy thing called Ghost Hunting. It is as much a part of me as breathing. I am just a girl that refuses to accept we can't still contact our loved ones after they die. My grandfather won't let me.

7 Top Haunted Univeristies

I would like to thank one of my readers for the suggestion of the following Top 7 Haunted Universities.  I found these to be VERY interesting.  Thank you Jena for the suggestion.  You may also read about these on Jena's site at:

http://www.thebestdegrees.org/7-supposedly-haunted-universities/

I have never done a University but would love to.  If anyone knows of a University locally I would love to check it out.  The closest University to me is North Texas College and supposively it has some hauntings as well.
Here is just a little that I know about the University of North Texas hauntings:

Denton – The University of North Texas – Bruce Hall – There is a spirit of a pregnant women trapped in the building who in the 1930′s tried to starve herself to cause an abortion There have been sightings of a young women roaming the halls when the building is closed. Also, the students are bothered by minor annoyances.

Denton – The University of North Texas – Union Suite 324 – The CSRR and SLA offices of the university have a wandering ghosts. Those who have extra work and stay later after hours tend to hear the fax machine turn on and off. This ghost “nicknamed” Brandy likes to lock employees in copy rooms and offices, run blank pages through the copier, and turn on and reboot computers.

Can I just say hooooowwwwwwww excitied I am about Halloween!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I LOVE LOVE HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Ohio University:According to the British Society of Psychical Research, Athens, Ohio, is the 13th most haunted place on Earth, and Ohio University enjoys the dubious reputation for being the most haunted campus in the country. The attic of Jefferson Hall is home to an unnamed floating, transparent woman, Crawford Hall is home to the ghost of a student named Laura who fell to her death from a fourth-floor window, and Brown House is home to the spirit of Millie Brown, who after kindly donating the house to the university, died and returned to haunt its residents.

  2. Michigan State University:

Not to be outdone by their Midwest rivals, Michigan State University also claims to have spirits of the undead floating around and causing trouble in several dorms, as well as the University’s garden and physical plant. In Holmes Hall, do NOT get on the elevator, as it runs erratically thanks to a pair of ghosts living on the sixth floor. Residents on the 12th floor of Hubbard Hall have reported hearing the sounds of running and ghostly laughter, sounds that you never hear in a dorm! The ghost of an old man is occasionally seen in the oak basement of Mason Hall, although it’s possible he’s just lost and needs directions to the physical plant.
  3. Lincoln Memorial University:

Below the Mason-Dixon line, pretty much every college and university you can name is haunted. Tennessee’s Lincoln Memorial University, which was chartered on Abraham Lincoln’s birthday, Feb. 12, 1897, is no exception. Residents of the university’s Grant-Lee Hall, which nearly burned to the ground in 1904 in a fire that claimed the life of a woman and her child, have reported hearing phantom footsteps and knocking on doors, seeing doorknobs turn and a mysterious, silent lady in red moving through the hallways.
  4. Huntingdon College:

Another mysterious lady in red haunts Pratt Hall at Huntingdon College. Back in 1910, a young girl named either Martha or Margaret arrived on the Alabama campus from New York only to find herself alienated from her fellow students. As the school year progressed, Martha’s behavior became more and more disturbing, and included wandering Pratt Hall at night while dressed in red and staring at but not speaking to the other residents. Tragically, Martha committed suicide in her room wearing red robe and draped in a red bedspread. Ever since her suicide, residents have reported seeing Martha’s ghost in Pratt Hall, passing through walls and doors.
  5. Eastern Illinois University:

Pemberton Hall at Eastern Illinois University was built in 1909 and is the oldest such residence in the state. The building is a historic landmark and, you guessed it, it’s haunted! Mary, the ghost of a counselor who was traumatized after a resident of Pemberton was brutally attacked and murdered by a crazed janitor, is occasionally seen floating throughout Pemberton, as if keeping protective watch on its residents. Over the years, residents of Pemberton have reported seeing bloody footprints, hearing ghostly whispers and knocks throughout the building.
  6. Boston University:

Leave it to the prestigious Boston University to lay claim to being home to the ghost of Eugene O’Neill, one of the world’s most highly regarded playwrights. BU’s Shelton Hall is creepy; residents have reported the lights suddenly dimming, and random, erratic stops on the elevator. OK, so maybe that’s just normal stuff that happens in every old building. But residents have also reported seeing the ghost of O’Neill, who died in room 401 of what was then the Shelton Hotel. Perhaps unfairly, English majors do not receive any additional credit toward their degree if they are lucky enough to catch sight of O’Neill.
  7. University of Montevallo:

Located in Alabama, the highly ranked University of Montevallo boasts a history of especially weird paranormal happenings. In 1908, a hapless sophomore ended up setting herself on fire while making fudge in the Main Dorm. Her ghost has been heard screaming and moaning in the Main Dorm’s hallways, and an image of her burning face seen on the door of her dorm room. Meanwhile, over on the grounds of King House, the ghost of the man who built it, Edmund King, is sometimes seen carrying a lantern and wandering the orchards and cemetery, apparently searching for silver he buried somewhere on the property.

Dreams? Do we get messages through them?

Hi everyone.  Yeah!!!!!  Halloween is almost here so I am going to try and post about many different things over the next week.  If you have anything you would like for me to discuss or bring up please send me an email or post a comment and I will be happy to.

Ok...for some reason I want to talk about dreams.  Do dreams really mean anything?  Or are they just crazy, random thoughts that run through our minds as we sleep?  Well, for me and all my research with the paranormal, MY answer to that question is easy.....yes.  Now, I'm not saying that EVERYTHING you dream about is a message from a loved one, but sometimes I absolutely believe they can be!!!!

Have you ever had a dream about someone....and you woke the next morning feeling either really happy or sad.....  as if you really had seen or talked to that person?  Well, I have.  I have dreamed about my Nan (that is my grandfather, for those of you who do not know me) and woke the next morning in a GREAT mood because I felt like I had gotten to see and talk with him again.

I believe that when you sleep you are at, of course, your most relaxed state of mind, therefore, spirits are able to communicate through your dreams because there is nothing "blocking" them from trying to reach you and you receiving their message.  Also, when I talk about "guardian angles" I believe this is their way of helping us through a stressful situation or maybe we are just having a really hard time with something and looking for guidance or answers.

Dreams can mean so many different things, but also they can answer so many things, if we are just willing to pay attention to them.  I don't know anything about if dreams can predict things that are going to happen or not.  I have NEVER experienced anything like that but I am not beyond believing it could happen.  If dreams can bring us some kind of answers or peace that we maybe looking for in our life's, why can't they let us know about the future?

So, can we ASK that our love ones contact us in our dreams???  Of course you can!!!!  I think in today's world, where there is sooo much negative, and someone needs just a little help....call on the one that could help you the most....ask that they come to see you.....you may just be surprised that they DO!!!!! :))))

Smoke Ghost

Hi everyone.  I know its been a while since I posted, just been really busy lately and my paranormal group is doing awesome!  We have had soooo many good calls on things for us to investigate.  Thank you everyone!!!!!

Ok.... now I want to talk about Smoke Ghost.  A curious phenomenon not to be confused with ectoplasm or mist, smoke ghosts are said to be ghost forms which give the appearance of smoke and are often accompanied by the pungent smell of burning wood.  These ghostly columns of smoke are said to move of their own accord while maintaining a disciplined column shape, though it may assume other similar forms, before dissipating in a manner that is alleged to be completely different from smoke drifting in the wind.

This is why many times, smoke ghosts are seen at fire.....car crash or plane crash where fires have occurred.  My thought on how this occurs....again, just my opinion, is that the accident is so sudden and tragic that a spirit doesn't know what happened.  "UNFINISHED business" is the phrase used so many times to describe this kind of activity.  I feel like the spirits manifest themselves as any spirit would when they die suddenly.....but the smoke is absorbed because of the energy of the spirit and therefore appears as a smoke ghost.

People report the smell of smoke in a smoke haunting(go figure...lol) and smoke clouds that move on their own, change shape and do not seem to diffuse or drift like ordinary smoke. There are many stories about smoke ghosts that although seem similar to "traditional" ghost or spirit they are quite different.

If anyone has experienced a smoke ghost I would love to hear your story and your thoughts.

Everyone have a great month of OCTOBER!!!!!!!  As you can imagine..........this is my FAVORITE time of year and I celebrate the ghosts and goblins all month long!!!!!  Not to mention, the Syfy channel has ghost shows all month long!!!!!  YES!!!!!!!
