About Me

My photo
Behind Every Cloud is a Kindred Spirit (BECKS)I lost my grandfather when I was 17. I had a VERY difficult time getting over it. How could I still communicate with him? I loved him so much I didn't think I could live without him. I read everything I could get my hands on to do with the "afterlife" and that started it all...the love of Ghost Hunting and the Paranormal. I have been researching the paranormal for over 37 years!! It is my way of staying in touch with my grandfather. Being a Ghost Hunter is not always as exciting as it seems on TV. Many nights I have sat in the dark and not a thing happened. BUT it is those times you DO get that one voice, that one explainable picture or have an experience that sends chills down your back that makes it sooo worth it all!!! My purpose of this blog is not to make people believe in ghosts but maybe to open their minds just a little bit... I LOVE this crazy thing called Ghost Hunting. It is as much a part of me as breathing. I am just a girl that refuses to accept we can't still contact our loved ones after they die. My grandfather won't let me.

Ghost App-Contact Paranormal Pro

I wanted to post this because I have been talking with someone about Apps under a previous post about apps for your phones.  This is the app that I was talking about being able to see it WRITE a word.  Again, I am not sold on this app but playing with it sure is fun!

I apologize the quality is not to great because I filmed this on another Iphone.  But the first day I downloaded it I asked it a question.  I was going to fix dinner so I ask it to give me a word to do with DINNER....It is hard to see but it spells out Eat.....Real ???? Fake???? I don't know, but what are the odds it would spell Eat to a question about dinner???

How to Investigate a Haunted Cemetery

A haunted cemetery....what more could a ghost hunter want right?  Creepy sounds, strange lights, scary looking grave markers, dark shadows,  and of course... dead people! lol  Man, when I right it down on what would make a GREAT place to hang out....US ghost hunters......we're strange aren't we??? LOL  Oh well...

A cemetery can be the perfect place for a night of excitement and sometimes a GREAT location for  paranormal activity. But let me say for the record, not ALL cemeteries are haunted.  So do your research before you go and choose a location that you feel needs further investigating.

There are a few things you need to know before you investigate a haunted cemetery.  First and foremost you HAVE TO RESPECT the location and be aware of where the graves are located.  Do not lean on the headstones, and speak softly and courteously if you are attempting an EVP session.  Remember, at some point in life these people were living just like you and I and you should speak to them as if they were standing right in front of you.   I am NOT a big fan of the "provoking style" investigations that some ghost hunters use.  I feel it is disrespectful and my group does not use this type of investigating style.  But to each their own, right?

Another Very important step is to get permission from a caretaker or owner(if privately owned) if possible and don't forget to inform the local police of your intent to conduct an investigation.  You don't want to spend the night in jail with a bunch of "harden" criminals that shot someone.....raped or beat someone...and they ask you "what your IN for" and you have to say.....I was in a cemetery looking for ghosts!!!!!  I guess you could say that you were looking for "BAD GHOSTS"....lol

Arrive at the cemetery at least an hour or two before dark.  This way you can see how the cemetery is laid out and see any dangerous holes, "soft spots" or obstacles that might not be noticed at night.  And with any investigation be sure to have the proper equipment for the location.  When out in a cemetery, there will probably be no connections for electricity so be sure and bring extra batteries and another "light" source in case your flashlights go out.

One of my FAVORITE cemeteries I have ever visited is Dry Creek in Terrell, Tx.  I am going to re-post a previous post on this cemetery.  But this place is great!!! It has tons of paranormal activity and is pretty secluded so we were able to walk around and investigate without to much outside interference such as people and traffic.  If you get the chance to go here...GO!!!

Pics from Dry Creek Cemetery

Ok.  Here is a couple of pics from our investigation.  This was late in the night and we where sitting in a group and I just snapped a couple of pics over my shoulders.  You'll notice the time stamp on the two pics.  The first one was over my right shoulder and the second one was over my left. We where sitting in the middle of the cemetery in a group.  What a difference?  We feel that the one with all the orbs in it is where the portal is.  It was by far the most active part of the cemetery.  It is NOT dust, nor had we been walking in that area to stir up dust.  These two pics where taken back to back so if it had been pollen or something in the air...it would have been in all the pics.  This is the only picture we have like this out of all we took.  Not another photo looks like this.

I'll be posting our video on youtube later tonight.  I have so much  more to write and tell you guys about this place.  I am soooo excited to go back!  So give me a little time and I'll post more pics and hopefully our video.  Happy hunting.

Finally-Our video...Dry Creek Cemetery
So, it's dark but I think you can clearly see we are having interaction with someone...we think it is Billy the Cowboy.  Billy the Cowboy was wrongfully accused of a crime and hung from a tree.  He is said to be a very active spirit and a grumpy one at that.  We found that to be true.  We have more video's coming.  The candle you see is for keeping the bugs away. We had them all around us. If you are ever able to go be sure to take bug spray or candles like we did.  The bugs where bad!

Not only where we getting responses with the flashlight but the K-2 meter was awesome to!  I'll be posting that later.  Don't forget to like the video if you do.  Thanks.

Hope you enjoy the video and please give me your feedback.

Part 2-Dry Creek Cemetery-Better than 1-Video

Ok.  Check this out.  It is part 2 of the Dry Creek Cemetery.  It was filmed first before the one I posted earlier.  You can CLEARLY see in this video that NO ONE in the group was tampering with the video.  Where this video ends is where the other one picks up so you will hear the crossover again.

You will hear me talk about cigarettes.  The K-2 meters where really going crazy when we talked about Billy liking cigarettes (I had read that he likes you to leave him one) so we had walked over and laid one at the base of the tree.  That is when we started getting interaction with the flashlight.

I will have one more video to post that shows the K-2 meter lighting up in response to my questions.  I think you will like it as well, but it is taking me a little while to get them on you tube.  Plus getting ready to go to Decatur, Ill this weekend for the investigation on two haunted theaters!  I'm so excited!

GHOSTLY PETS-MAN'S BEST FRIEND UNTIL THE END

As humans, we have this GREAT power called "Love".  Love gives us the ability to open our hearts and love unconditionally and TO BE loved unconditionally.  The great thing about love is, we can love many different things.  We LOVE ice cream, we LOVE sports, and maybe one of our GREATEST loves, beside the love we have for family and friends.... is our pets!!!  As humans, we grow incredibly attached to our animal friends.  When they are alive we cherish them and consider them a member of the family in every aspect of the word "family".  When they die, so often we are consumed in grief that we feel like we might NEVER recover.  Still, we do; and life goes on.

Sometimes, though, there is an occasional visit from our departed friends.  The nudge of a cold noise, the click-click of their nails on a hardwood floor, the jingle of their tags in the night, the squeak of their favorite toy.  The deep bond between animals and humans, make no mistake is REAL and TRUE.

Now, according to your belief, animals may or may not have a soul.  For me, I believe anything that can feel love, pain and sadness must have a soul.  Just like us, pets have a soul and when the physical body wears out our souls go to heaven. Now, I know you are asking yourself, how can SHE(meaning me.lol) believe you go to heaven and still believe in ghosts?  Well, I do!  I just think sometimes it takes some of us a little longer to get there. :)

Again, just like a spirit or ghost, our pets may not want to leave their loved ones, and we all know how loyal pets can be.  And again, I believe pets have a GREAT six sense....so when you are sad they know it, when you are happy they know it and when you need a hug and a kiss....no problem......up in the lap they go with a big lick on the face!!!

Our pets are still loyal even in the afterlife.  If everyday you feed your pet at 8:00am and 5:00pm then that is what your pet knows.  So, when they die they may continue to come back at 8:00 and 5:00 for breakfast and dinner.  And when they know you are grieving or sad they do what they do best....try and make you feel better by grabbing a toy, jumping in your lap or on the couch to snuggle.  Let's just say "they have unfinished business" the phrase that is soooo often used when describing a departed soul.

I could talk for hours on the subject of pets, but let me offer you these words of encouragement.....if you have lost a beloved pet, and you feel that you hear them or feel them or even see them....know that the LOVE and Loyalty that they had for you always remains with them.  Take ANY signs to heart and know they are still with you making you smile and feel LOVED.

This may be a little off the subject but I want to say it anyway...I lost a beloved pet named Shasta years ago.  At the time, I cried until my eyes ached and there wasn't another tear left in me.  I grieved like I didn't know was possible.  An with the pain that deep, all I could think about was "I will never love another dog LIKE I loved Shasta."  And I couldn't even imagine replacing her.  As any animal lover knows, you can't replace a beloved lost pet.  But let me tell you what you CAN do.....you can ease the pain, by taking the love you had for your beloved pet and share it with another little soul that needs love and wants to give love.  I know it is one of the HARDEST things to cope with, but when you DON'T replace your pet with another....what you notice is the SILENCE and LONELINESS.  You sit in the house and notice that their NOT in your lap, you notice that your house is NOT full of dog toys all over the floor, and you notice no one is there to great you when you open your eyes in the mornings or when you get home from work.  That feeds the pain you feel.

I know this is just MY OPINION and MY OPINION ALONE....but I feel, from experience that the sooner your replace the LONELINESS with a distraction of another little furry friend jumping in your lap, playing with toys, making a mess and chewing up your favorite shoes and most of all is being LOVED and giving LOVE the sooner your heart will start to heal.  PLEASE don't mistake what I am saying....I am NOT saying you will ever love another pet the way you did when you lost your previous one but I AM saying....you CAN LOVE another in another unique and special way.

Sorry, obviously I got a little "preachy" on the subject but it is because I am very passionate about animals and our bond with them.

****Since this post in 2013 I have lost my little Holly to the great Doggie Heaven in the sky.  I also have a new little addition to my family....Tucker.  :)

Orbs-Just dust or spirits of our loved ones?

Ok. Lets talk Orbs.   One of the most common questions I get is what is an "Orb"?   Lets say that the definition of an Orb is like the soul of a departed person. The soul being the essence of who they were in life, complete with their intelligence, their emotions and their personality.

Orbs have always been a part of the paranormal, even before the chase was on. Native Americans sometimes called them Tei Pai Wankas and believed seeing them was like coming upon dead relatives. The term Will-o-the-Wisp was used by Europeans later, but the idea was basically the same. Orbs were thought to be the spirits who had enough energy to be made partly whole and were mainly seen with the naked eye, any many thought it was just the imagination.

Orbs appear as "balls of light" apparently floating or moving in a picture.  Sometimes, orbs can appear in colors, such as blue, green, red, etc.  Most orb images, however, are caused by flash reflection off of glass, mirrors, walls, dust, moisture and even insects.

Some orbs are definitely energy, and energy is spirit.  However, know one knows what this energy is for sure.  Some orbs have even been photographed with faces in them.  Again, it is up to you and what you believe as to whether the theory on orbs can have faces in them.

Actually, 99 percent of orb pictures can be dismissed just by looking at the evidence. This means consider the conditions and the location first. Were you in a dusty location, were you outside right after a rain storm, was the wind blowing, where there bugs, where there others snapping pictures at the same time, and could it be a reflection of small lights of something in the room or camera? These are all questions you should ask yourself. Right? Because as a ghost hunter, just doesn't take things at "face value", you want to investigate these kinds of questions.

So, here's the deal. Check your pictures closely and if you can do not use the flash. It doesn't make for great pictures but it will help eliminate some flash issues of reflection. Because remember 99% of orb pictures can be explained, but as for that other 1%...hope your the one that grabs it!!

Feel free to share your opinion on orbs. Some believe they should not be considered at all in the paranormal field, but what do you think?

The above pictures are in Salem Massachusetts in 2005. If you have not been there, YOU MUST GO!!!!! The history is unreal. The first picture is of an orb we caught late at night around 1:00 in an old cemetery where several accused witches were barred back in 1692-1693. The second pic is the orb that I cropped and blew up. Very interesting to me....It looks like you can almost "see" the energy just swirling around in it.

Nothing but rain...but it looks cool.

Ghosts-Really Cool places to start looking...

So, I am going to be posting about a lot of different places, but tonight I am going to start off with just two really cool places I think you guys will like a lot and I don't think you would be disappointed in the "ghostly" activity.  I will be posting more in the future.  I have just been to SO MANY really cool places it's hard talk about them all in one night.

1st-  One of my FAVORITE places ever....great pics(orbs, mist, ect) and lots of paranormal activity is...of course....The Alamo in San Antonio Tx.

Originally named Mission San Antonio de Valero, the Alamo served as home to missionaries and their Indian converts for nearly seventy years. Construction began on the present site in 1724. In 1793, Spanish officials secularized San Antonio's five missions and distributed their lands to remaining Indian residents.  A small band of Texans held out for thirteen days against the Centralist army of General Antonio López de Santa Anna.  Although the Alamo finally fell in the early morning hours of March 6, 1836.

As with any battle ground, there are lots of spirits that remain behind...for so many different reasons.  Some because they died so tragically that they don't even realize they are dead, some because they knew this place as home and don't want to leave, some because maybe they feel they have "unfinished" business...such as the battle itself....maybe they are still "battling".  Who knows?  The one thing I can tell you is that there is so much to see and do around the Alamo, you need MORE than just one night.  Reports of soldiers, canons, cries, guns and many more sounds are found here.  And Pics.....Some of my most interesting and favorite photos are from the Alamo.

So, pack up the EMF meters, K-2's and your camera and head to San Antonio for the weekend.

One of my FAVORITE all time photos!
A solider standing in front of the Alamo.
We could not see him at the time, but the
girl to the right was actually there.

2nd- As long as your at the Alamo, DO NOT miss the opportunity to go to the Menger Hotel right next door.

The Menger is located adjacent to the Alamo and first opened in 1859, just 23 years after the battle at the Alamo, by owner William Menger and architect John Fries.

Down through the years such personalities such as Theodore Roosevelt, Babe Ruth, Sidney Lanier, Mae West, Ulysses S. Grant, Robert E. Lee, and Sarah Bernhardt stayed there, some more than once. Ask any employee or regular visitor to the Menger and chances are good you'll hear about more than one ghostly encounter that takes place here.

For me, I LOVE this place!!! I wrote my first paranormal paper on this hotel.  I had soooo many experiences here....footsteps walking up behind me when no one was there, voices, the elevator opening and closing on its own...and even a photo with a picture of a face in the courtyard, I believe to be Guston Borlum the sculpture of Mount Rushmore.  DON'T pass this one up!!!
