MARY SURRATT-"LADY IN BLACK"-WASHINGTON, DC

So, I am headed to Wahington DC tomorrow and can't wait to see all the history this great state has to offer!  You can bet I will be checking out some of the haunted places here.

I thought I would tell ya'll about one of the MOST famous hauntings in Washington.  It's not that this place is SCARY or full of lots of different spirits....BUT it IS one that has been reported with regular paranormal activity.

John Wilkes Booth, the man responsible for Lincoln's assassination, was known to freguqent a tavern operated by John Lloyd, but owned Mary Surratt.  In April of 1865, Mary Surrantt along with Lewis Powell(who had attempted to kill Secretary of State William Seward) and Louis Weichmann, who dropped off a package at the Inn that was later picked up by Booth, were all arrested as conspirators in Lincoln's assassination.  Lloyd was pressured into testifying against Mary.  But what other proof did the police have on Surrant?  The incriminating evidence against Mary was that her boardinghouse, located a few blocks from Ford Theatre, was a convenient haven for Booth while in town.  And, to matters worse, both of Mary's sons were involved in the Confederacy.

Weichmann also testified against Surratt.  Later he claimed that he was pressured by government officials to do so.

Many believed that President Andrew Johnson would pardon Mary.  After all, up until that point in history, no female prisoner had ever been hanged!  Unfortunately for Mary, the pardon never came.  On July 7, 1865, Mary, along with three others, was hanged at Fort McNair.  One of the men who died along with Mary, Lewis Powell, proclaimed her innocence with his dying breath.  But his words fell on deaf ears.  That day marked the first woman to ever be hanged in the United States.

Ever since, people have witnessed the ghostly apparition of a woman with her hands and feet bound roaming about the site of her execution, her face barely visible beneath a black hood.  And many a soldier's child, when asked who their invisible friend is, happily report, "it's the Lady in Black".
One thing I would like to point out is... more than likely Mary's feet and hands were bound that way once she hung she couldn't kick or grab for the noose.  BUT some customs believe that if you tied their feet and hands together this would prevent the spirit from returning.

So, we will see.....hope to have a LOT to tell you about next week!  And hopefully I will have the "upcoming" topics for the year ready.  And let me tell you.......this next year has LOTS of exciting events coming up starting with Yorktown Memorial Hospital in Yorktown, Tx.  This place is going to be one SCARY PLACE!!!  I hope to start posting on Instagram and Twitter so you guys can be right there with us as we explore this abandon hospital full of spirits!!!

MERRY HAUNTED CHRISTMAS TO ALL MY FOLLOWERS!!!

   

I wanted to wish everyone of you a Merry Merry Christmas!!!  My Christmas has officially just wrapped up and I'm pooped!  Looking forward to a little down time after the first of the first of the year and get back to business of writing and sharing with you guys.  It looks like this next year is going to be VERY exciting as I have LOTS of investigations coming up I can't wait to share with you.

 

I wanted to make sure that I let each and everyone of you know HOW SPECIAL you are to me.  The stories you share, the pictures, the advice you seek....You guys will never know how much I enjoy sharing with you guys.

 

Ok.....go to bed and get some rest and I hope Santa was VERY good to you.  Don't forget to say Merry Christmas to all the loved ones we have lost.  You know they are always around you.....even they still like Christmas.  :)



WHEN IS ENOUGH.....ENOUGH???

Bizarre things start to happen......shadow figures in the night, objects being thrown across the room, creepy sounds, the lights going on and off by themselves, strange voices, foul smells...............when is ENOUGH........ENOUGH????

For those of us who have experienced these things first hand the sleepless nights and the overwhelming fear can be paralyzing!!! Do you suffer in fear without looking for help?  Do you stay and hope things will "just get better?"  Is it all "just your imagination?"  If you are one of these people there are many things you can try before "getting the HEL* out!"  

Here's the sad part...many times when someone has had paranormal experiences they DO seek help, and are told they're crazy.  Whether one believes in the paranormal or not, if the only recourse people have is to get some kind of help when they believe their house is haunted from paranormal investigators because everyone else thinks their CRAZY - then there's a good justification for paranormal investigators to exist.  This is where WE(paranormal investigators) have to step back and listen with an OPEN MIND.....but at the same time try to HELP the homeowner by asking the right questions, doing research on the location and of course conduct an investigation.  I take PRIDE in being non-judgmental person....NO MATTER WHAT a person tells me, I have no reason to doubt them until I know otherwise. 

Now, to get off the subject a little bit.  If you are dealing with paranormal activity please know that there is help out there.  BUT there DOES come a time when all you may consider is moving out!!!

Talk to it-

As simple as this sounds, talking to the ghost is generally the easiest way to either have the ghost leave or at least reach some type of compromise to cohabitate.  It is also the first thing I recommend to all my clients.  Keep in mind that you may have to repeat yourself many times and make the message a little stronger each time.  You may start out with something like "I love this house and I know you do too, so could we co-exist together?  We can do that if you will stop doing the things you are doing".  Then if that doesn't help give this a try.  "This is OUR house and you are NOT wanted here!  You need to get out now! LEAVE!!!"

One thing I want to bring up is...if the paranormal activity occurring in your home is rather recent, think about any items you may have purchased lately.  It could be any items from a thrift store, eBay, garage sale, or an antique store.  ANYTHING you bought second hand could have a ghost attached to it.  If this is the case...GET RID OF IT!!!  I don't mean put it in the basement, I mean get it off your property!

Have Your House Blessed-

If the spirit in your home is persistent, you may want a clergy to come into your home and bless the space.  Some people are uncomfortable with this idea but you may need their help so don't be afraid to ask.

Now, if you prefer you can do it yourself.  It is important that you pay particular attention to all doors, windows, the kitchen, and the bedrooms.  Also pay close attention to any other rooms where paranormal activity may have occurred at one time.

You can burn sage incense or dried sage in every room of the house one at a time and repeat this simple house blessing in every room:
           Please bless this house and fill it with only positive energy, happiness, love, and peace.  Anyone who enters this space can only be someone who is filled with love and happiness.  Any negative energy or beings can no longer reside within these walls, and they are to leave and are forbidden to enter this home ever again.  ADDITION(add this if you are trying to get rid of a nice spirit)  Only the living can stay here within the walls of this home.  If you are a gentle and kind spirit, you must also leave going toward the light.  You are not wanted here any longer.

Use Holy Water-

You can take a small, clean container with a lid and respectfully go to a church and fill it with holy water.  When you get the holy water, go around your house and put a bit on your finger and make a sign of the cross on every door frame. Say "I bless and clean this space in the name of the Lord" or any other prayer you wish.  The trick to completing this task is to REALLY believe with all your heart what you're saying is true.

Sage- 

This has proven to be very effective for ridding homes with uninvited ghosts.  First, buy a sage stick and light it, then blow it out so that there is only smoke coming from the stick.  Place in a bowl and with a feather or whatever you want to use to direct the smoke...crack open one window in each room and starting from one end of your house and working your way to the other, walk through every room making sure the smoke from the sage gets into all the corners and nooks and crannies.  While doing this you can say something like "This smoke is cleaning out any negative energy or spirits.  All negative energy or spirits are commanded to leave now through the open window and are never to return.

DO Not Use Salt; Use Rice-

I know, I know, everyone says use sea salt around the outside of your house, but here's the deal....if you ALREADY have a ghost inside your home using salt is the LAST THING you want to do!!!  Now, I can't say that I have used this technique but I know people who have and have had great results.  See the theory is that spirits or ghosts won't or can't cross a line of sea salt.

So, instead use rice.  Sprinkle a line of rice around the outside perimeter of your home, getting the rice as close to the foundation of your home as possible.  The theory here is that the rice will LURE the spirit out of your house.  THEN....go back outside and do the perimeter with sea salt.

And the last thing I want to say is DON'T SHOW FEAR or have negative feelings.  If you had a bad day at work, or your not getting along with your spouse, then THIS IS NOT a good day to sage.  You need to be in the right frame of mind meaning being positive...

And if you try everything you can and you have asked for help and nothing seems to work...your best plan may be to move!!!  For the safety of you and your family, for the peace of mind of being able to "feel safe" this may be your only option.

Be sure to stay close.... in the next few days I hope to post MY PERSONAL experience of living in a haunted house and a close friend with White Dog Paranormal that just cleansed her apartment because she had a "not so pleasant" experience that scared her to death!

YORKTOWN MEMORIAL HOSPITAL-PEOPLE ARE DIEING TO GET OUT! EVIL AND DARKNESS SURROUND THIS FORGOTTEN PLACE.

Yorktown Memorial Hospital

So, we are investigating Yorktown Memorial Hospital next month and I am sooooo excited!!!  This place has been abandon for years and the best part is that all or most of the furnishings, beds, toys, dishes, and even some instruments used during surgery. 

The Felicia Sisters of the Roman Catholic Church founded Yorktown Hospital in 1950.  The hospitals' motto was "So that more may live longer," though the facility saw more lives lost than saved.  The hospital closed in the late 1980s and was briefly turned into a drug rehabilitation center.  It is estimated that the hospital saw fifty deaths per year, which is a total of about 2,000 during its history.
 
 While death was a common occurrence, two have garnered special attention-a possible double homicide that took place in the basement.  It is said you can still see the bloodstained wall in the basement.  Can you believe that?  In this day and age that we would ever live blood on the walls of a homicide.  The story goes that a female staff member was involved with two male patients.  One day, she was caught by one of the males, who observed her speaking quietly with the other.  He flew into a rage and stabbed them both to death. It is said that you can still hear the screams and sounds of the attack drifting up through the walls.

And then there is "T.J."  He is said to have allegedly been dropped off on the steps of the hospital by some friends late one night.  No one rang the bell for help.  The nuns found him in the morning, dead of a heroin overdose.  It is said that TJ rings the entry bell outside and raps on the glass.

There have also been reports of people being kicked, punched, slapped by unseen forces inside the building.  Even in the chapel, an malevolent spirit of a nun is said to choke intruders, especially men. This is one of those places you really have to keep your imagination in check.  Inside this place where there are places of complete darkness, and the walls hold such secrets.....you are likely to encounter many spirits and MANY who are NOT happy about your visit.

Another spirit is said to be Dr. Leon Nowiersky.  The Dr. practiced well into his 90's and held the oldest medical license in the state of Texas.  He was notorious for making mistakes including slitting a patient’s throat during a thyroid procedure. Dr. Nowiersky is said to be one of the many spirits that haunt the hospital where he roams the halls around the ER/OR and near the doctor’s lounge.  He is said to enjoy flirting and groping women in his office.

Stacy a little girl around the age of 8 is said to play in the basement hallway, as well as the room she stayed in on the first floor, and in the library on the second floor. One story is that if you contact Stacy in the basement and ask her to roll a ball & play and offer her a story reward, she will play with a ball & then if you go up to the library she will appear as your read a book to her (her favorite is Pokey Little Puppy).
And Doug Richards.  Doug was a heavy equipment Mechanic who, according to evidence gathered by different sources, died in 1973. Many people have claimed to see the apparition of Doug and have described him as a very tall man wearing blue jeans and a white t-shirt.  And lastly the nuns.  There are many reports of the spirits of some of the nuns who ran the hospital. One of the biggest reports is that up in the nun’s quarters and in the balcony of the chapel, people (particularly women, but sometimes men as well) with tattoos have been choked or even scratched by the nuns.

I can not WAIT to check this place out.  Zak from Ghost Adventures said this is one of the MOST haunted places he has ever investigated.  If any of you have been there or done an investigation PLEASE write me and let me know about your experience.

REAL GHOST CAUGHT ON THE LATE NIGHT SHOW WITH SETH MEYER. YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BELIEVE THIS!!!!

This is REAL VIDEO of The Late Night Show with Seth Meyers on 12-8-14 at 11:42pm Central Time. If you notice Seth Meyers is doing his monologue saying something like " I don't know if the viewers know this or not but the Discovery Channel"...etc if you look up to the right top corner of your screen you will see a "ball of light" or an "orb" which is a spirit float across the screen even SEEMINGLY pause at Seth and then move on to the bottom left corner. This is NOT a reflection nor is it a lighting issue, the movement of this ORB is very TRUE to the movement of a spirit orb. This video has been slowed down so that you may see the orb better. This is an AMAZING CATCH on NATIONAL TELEVISION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PERSONAL CONNECTIONS. DO WE HAVE ONE???

At a time when ghostly encounters are sadly and most often depicted as, and defined by people covered in electronic gadgets and shouting out the names of the deceased into moldy basements and dark attics, is that our "connection" to the other side?  Does that mean we have a "personal connection"?

Communicating with the spirits of the dead is a timeless fascination, and today is no exception.  Our society is inundated with paranormal media, leaving many to wonder how much of what we see and hear is real. If someone claims to have "all the answers"...beware...none of us...and I do mean NONE OF US have ALL the answers.  Now with that said, I DO believe that some...not all of us...have had TRULY personal connections with someone that has passed away....be it a loved one, friend, teacher, spouse or someone that has just touched our life in a very special way.

So lets talk about that.  Do I feel I have a "personal connection" with MY Nan?(Grandfather) You BETTER believe that I DO!!!!!  And so do MANY of you!!!  A "personal connection" with someone that has passed away can be something like.......lets say  a "feeling" a moment that "beyond a shadow doubt" that you feel or sense that person is with you in that exact moment.  You suddenly smile for know reason, you shed a tear just because you looked out your window and saw a blue bird on your mothers bird feeder......and you remember very vividly her joy as she would watch the birds out her window.

I am going to share a VERY PERSONAL experience of someone very dear to me and that I love so much and are so honored that he would allow me to write about HIS "personal connection".  This story is about my boyfriend Deak and his "personal connection" to his wife who he lost in 2008 to cancer.  She left behind two small boys, one 9-Grant and one was 12-Chase and one devastated husband who she had been with for 26 wonderful years.  Let me also state that writing this is no easy task but I want you, my readers, to understand that you CAN and DO have "personal connections" to your loved ones.....there is no need for you to feel like you have to have other people believe you in a world where "doubt" seems to come all to easy when you are talking about the paranormal.

As stated, Deak and Susan had been married for many years.  They enjoyed an exceptionally good relationship, they respected each other, loved each other and were the best of friends. They both loved to travel and many times took the boys on memorable vacations. Their life consisted of TWO VERY IMPORTANT things......their boys, Grant(9) and Chase(12) and HOCKEY..........but not just any hockey team......they lived and breathed CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS Hockey!!!!  Deak is originally from Chicago and Susan from Minnesota where they both developed a very passionate love for the sport.

Deak and Susan had a small but comfortable home when Deak began to climb the "corporate ladder".  One day Susan noticed that she had a lump on her inner thigh that became painful and sore.  Deciding to go to the doctor and have it checked out a biopsy was performed and the news unfortunately wasn't good.......completely blindsided.........she had cancer. After many doctors visits and several years of surgery's  Susan was diagnosed CANCER FREE!!!! They couldn't have been happier!!!!  They decided to pursue a bigger house and better school system for their sons.  So they bought a beautiful new home and moved in on Deak's birthday in July, 2007.  Things seem to be going just the way they planned.  Susan was a stay at home mom and devoted her time to taking the boys to and from Hockey practice and making a loving home for Deak.  Deak continued to work hard and became a successful VP of a Fortune 500 company.

Enjoying her new life in their dream home, Susan was soon told that the cancer had returned. Being of strong will.....Susan never lost faith that she would "beat the cancer" and a couple of times they thought she had. But, the cancer kept coming back..... and each time with more of a vengeance than the time before.  The cancer would soon take it's toll on Susan's body turning this beautiful, young woman into a weak and frail soul that soon became bed ridden.  But this NEVER affected Susan's need to still try and be a loving Mom and Wife to Deak and the boys....and Deak would not falter.....not allowing anyone BUT him to care for his love....he worked during the day....and the minute he arrived home after a long days work....he would stay up all night giving Susan her medication, her shots and care for her in everyway possible.  After several months of Chemo and sleepless nights of administering pain medication....... Deak and Susan lost their battle......leaving Deak alone with two small boys who would be growing up without a Mother to raise on his own.

Deak and the boys turned to traveling  and music as a way of coping with the loss of Susan following the group U2 around the country and traveling to the Blackhawks games.  Now, here is where the "personal connection" comes in IN A BIG WAY!!!  It was 2010 and the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup after forty-nine years!!!  Deak and the boys were on CLOUD NINE!!!! Tradition is that the first game AFTER the season ends, they (the Blackhawks) celebrate by hanging the Championship banner in the stadium.  Deak and the boys were sitting in their living room of the house they had bought with the thought that this would be a place Susan and them would be for a long, long time enjoying many fond memories.  The Blackhawks celebration ceremony came on and the song WITH OR WITHOUT YOU by U2 began to play.  This was a SPECIAL day for more than one reason.........for more than the Blackhawks winning the Stanley Cup............. it was Deak and Susan's wedding anniversary!!!!  The song is very moving if you listen to the words.......it's about going on WITH OR WITHOUT someone.   Deak and the boys were shocked and became very emotional as the song began to play..........for them, hearing WITH OR WITHOUT YOU during the Blackhawks celebration, they felt her presence.  They KNEW this was no coincidence, as this was her way of letting them know she is still a part of their lives.

So you tell me...............was this a "personal connection" from the other side???? Blackhawks win the Cup???? The U2 Song??? And on their wedding anniversary???

Now, I know "personal connections" are different for everyone.  But make no mistake about it......Do we have personal connections to our loved ones that have passed????  The simple answer is "YES"........ just ask Deak and the boys.
