About Me

My photo
Behind Every Cloud is a Kindred Spirit (BECKS)I lost my grandfather when I was 17. I had a VERY difficult time getting over it. How could I still communicate with him? I loved him so much I didn't think I could live without him. I read everything I could get my hands on to do with the "afterlife" and that started it all...the love of Ghost Hunting and the Paranormal. I have been researching the paranormal for over 37 years!! It is my way of staying in touch with my grandfather. Being a Ghost Hunter is not always as exciting as it seems on TV. Many nights I have sat in the dark and not a thing happened. BUT it is those times you DO get that one voice, that one explainable picture or have an experience that sends chills down your back that makes it sooo worth it all!!! My purpose of this blog is not to make people believe in ghosts but maybe to open their minds just a little bit... I LOVE this crazy thing called Ghost Hunting. It is as much a part of me as breathing. I am just a girl that refuses to accept we can't still contact our loved ones after they die. My grandfather won't let me.

Before and after photos of the Shadow Figure

Shadow Figure
Same timestamp after the shadow figure photo.  One minute there, the next gone!

Is this another Shadow figure
to the right of the picture.  Is this
Steve the spirit that wanted us
to leave?
Lake Cities Paranormal Inventions Group
Awesome group!!!!
So the above pictures are the original photos taken of the shadow person.  You cannot see the time stamp but it shows 11:41pm one the first picture with the shadow person in it and the second one, without the shadow, is the same time.  Sorry, the camera that this is taken with, the settings aren't set to print the date and time on the photo's but they are on the memory card.

Then this morning, I was going over the photo's again and noticed the 3rd photo.  The one on the bridge.  I missed this several times, but this morning it is very clear... I took this photo of the group as they were doing a flashlight communication.  I was alone back behind everyone taking this picture.
Again, there are no lights around and the only light source is the flash from the camera.  The shadow to the right would be hard to recreate because of angle of the shadow.  If you look closely, there are also a couple of orbs above the shadow. hhhhuuummmm Just can't imagine how this could have happened without a light source BEHIND something to make this kind of shadow.  What do you think.  Even the shape and piers on the bridge wouldn't reflect this way.  And if it where a tree, it would have to be close to the bridge.  Ok.   It's a bridge.  There are no trees on the center of the bridge, just water beneath us.

Now, I will tell you that on the bridge we are using a Franks Box or Spirit Box for the first time, along with our recorder and flashlights as that is how we are trying to communicate.  The Franks Box keeps saying "Becky" "Becky".  So I go sit closer to the Franks Box and start asking questions like " who I am talking to?  "Ok...you know my name, what is yours?" and the response was very clear "STEVE".  So I start talking to Steve.(is that Steve on the bridge with me?hhhuumm Wished I had seen this that night).  I asked if he liked all the people on the bridge and he said "NO" "TO MANY".  And of course, we lost half of the people at that time, which wasn't bad considering that were mostly young people out to scare one another on the bridge on Friday 13th. lol  But then I ask Steve if he was a gentle spirit and he said "NO" "LEAVE".  At the same time, the flashlights are going on and off with the responses on the Franks Box.  I asked even with the smaller group, you still want us to leave and he said "LEAVE".  So, of course, we do what any ghost hunter would do, we got OFF the bridge.

I could just feel that this was not a friendly spirit.  There are tons of rumors about the KKK at this bridge, and of course the one about throwing Oscar the blackman over the bridge and hanging him is the most told. (and by the way, I do believe we were at one time talking with Oscar who was a much nicer spirit than Steve.  But when Steve started communicating we did not hear another word from Oscar.)  Was Steve a member of the KKK?  I don't know, but he wasn't a spirit I wanted to mess with.

And the last picture is of the group that was with me until the end.  I love these guys.  Everyone did so good and we all had such great experiences.  As you can see from the group pic, we wheren't alone. lol I think even the non-believers in the group, may have changed their minds.  Thanks guys.

AMAZING PHOTO at Old Alton Bridge

I just can't wait any longer to share this pic with everyone. This was last night at the Old Alton Bridge. One of our members was sitting alone and felt a "presence" and snapped this photo. AMAZING!!! She was sitting in pitch black! We tried and tried to recreate this shadow and there is just NO WAY!!! This is the real deal. She was sitting almost on the ground, and you can clearly see the shadow is above her. She was taking a picture of the flashlight communication she was receiving.
Again, there is no light source anywhere but the flash from her camera!!!  And she has the camera pointed down at the flashlight and the shadow figure is above her.

I have lots of pics and EVP records to go through today, but this place was awesome!  But I must say, the spirits are NOT friendly at this Bridge.  We had people that got scratched, great communication with our Spirit Box and lots more!  But I don't think the spirits where to happy with all the people there.  At one point, there was over 30 people.  Not all were with our group, but more and more people kept coming and wanting to join in.

The spirits told us to "LEAVE" and said "TO MANY PEOPLE".  So after that, we lost about half of them because they were scared to death! Heck, I thought that was a good plan on the "spirits" part.  Nice....... lol  A much smaller group went with me down into the woods and this is where the picture of the shadow person was taken.

I will post more on this place later, have lots to go through first.

Lincoln Theater-Decatur, Ill

Here are few pictures from our investigation at the Lincoln Theater in Decatur, Ill. I had such a great time! I was told by Luke that has worked with Troy Taylor for years and he told me that my "flashlight" communication session we had down in the basement of the Lincoln was one of the most impressive he has seen in a really long time. Is my head getting bigger??? lol

A little history of this awesome place.

Residents of Decatur, Illinois have heard stories that the local Lincoln Theater is haunted. Those of us who live outside of the city, or the state may not have heard the same stories. Though the stories are popular, they are also fairly localized to the town. This isn't a place that you would expect to see the
ghost hunters investigating any time soon.
The Lincoln Theater first opened its doors in 1916 and quickly became one of the most popular attractions in Decatur. Prior to being the Lincoln, this same site held the old Priest Hotel. The Priest opened in 1880, and lasted until a fire ravaged the building in 1904. Though the hotel was rebuilt on the same spot, another fire destroyed the building in 1915, and some people believe the ghosts of that fire still haunt the area.
The fire began when some rags caught fire near the boiler. Though there were some efforts to stop the fire, it quickly grew out of control. Once the fire was stopped, the bodies of two guests were found. Other guests went missing, but no one is quite sure if they died in the blaze or escaped without a word.
When the new building was constructed on top of the old site, it was given the name the Lincoln Square Theater. The new theater was built to last, with precautions such as a two-foot thick firewall added to protect the building against future fire damage. The theater was an instant hit with residents who came to see the hundreds of plays, vaudeville acts, and musical groups that passed through the town.
The Lincoln remained in operation for a number of years, with ownership passing to a few different organizations and people. During the 1980's, the owners leased the building to another corporation, but finally shuttered the theater for good. Before leaving the Lincoln though, the owners stripped the building of many of its valuable parts, leaving behind only a shell. Restorationists are working hard to turn this old historic building back into something grand once again, though they have their work cut out for them, especially when you factor in the ghost stories.
One ghost that people believe haunts the old Lincoln Theater someone known only as Red. Red supposedly once worked at the theater. The man worked backstage during the live performances and seemed happy, though some claim he actually wanted to be an actor himself. Supposedly Red fell from the catwalk during a show, and died when he hit the stage. Red died die in the theater, but he died during his sleep and not from a huge fall.
There are a number of people who claim to have seen or heard Red at the Lincoln Theater over the years, or at least the man's ghost. People claim to hear someone whispering, or see strange shadows above the stage. Others have heard someone walking around the stage area. There are also some visitors who believe that they have seen the ghost of a young woman in the theater, though no one is quite sure who she might be.
The ghosts of the Lincoln Theater seem fairly friendly. They seem to enjoy sitting in the empty audience area and watching those on stage, even if they are only working and not performing. The ghosts are also known to manifest as cold spots in the building, or to touch people standing in the theater. Others have seen a male figure standing on the stairs. This man has been seen by dozens of visitors and performers over the years.

Ok. So I did the interview for our local newspaper. Thank you to everyone who encouraged me to do it. I think it turned out pretty good for a local paper. And a half page?????? Really??? Thank you Lake Cities Sun.
