Ghost with Mischievous Behaviour..

Lets say.... you suddenly can't find your glasses and you know where you just took them off....you know you placed your car keys in your purse before bed but when you leave for work the next morning they are in the bathroom...you wash your face and turn off the water and just when you lay down to go to sleep, the water comes on...hhhuummm   Forgetful?  Maybe.  Or maybe you just have a mischievous ghost that likes to play tricks on you.

Lots of times  these kind of situations can be explained but just as many times they can't.  Sometimes, when you have a spirit that was fun and playful when they were living, still remain fun and playful in the afterlife.  There are many reasons a ghost or spirit may be considered "mischievous". 

You have the spirits that just "for the fun of it" will mess with you.  That's right, just to make you think you are going crazy can be quite amusing to a ghost.  Well, think about it...you hang around the same place...day in and day out....see the same people....the same things....guess you have to have fun someway right?  LOL

I will tell you that a lot of times these spirits mean no harm to you.  They are just trying to get your attention.  Now, for you, this can be quite annoying!  So, if things continue to happen you may have to put a stop to it by telling the ghost that you have had enough!!!  Leave your things alone!  It's kinda like having a brother or sister that is constantly taking or hiding your things.  Finally, you have to go tell Mom.  LOL.... Well, in this case, you have to tell the Spirit.

I want to share a story  of this exact thing, among MANY stories I could share on this subject. Being an investigator, I run the risk of having things follow me home and I am assuming that a spirit with a great sense of humor did just that.  There was an instance were I was getting ready for bed one night and the whole week just seemed like things kept showing up missing or would be found in the oddest of places.  I like to read at night and I use reading glasses. I am blind as a bat without them.  I had already laid my book and glasses on my bed(book on bottom and glasses laying on top of the book) as I do every night I am going to read, and went to turn off the main light in my room. When I turned back around and went to get in the bed, I reached over to move my book and glasses.....but...my glasses WHERE GONE!  I had just laid them on top of my book not 5 minutes earlier!!!  What the ???? ....I thought!!! I moved all my covers back and looked on the floor and under the bed for my glasses but they were no where to be found!!!  You got  to be kidding me!!!! Where did my glasses go???

I was dump founded!!!  So I walked all through my house trying to find my glasses the WHOLE time thinking.....I KNOW I laid my glasses on top of my book!!!!

After a frantic search I headed to the kitchen for a glass of water and what do I see.....But my glasses laying on the floor in front of the back door!!!! "NO WAY!!!!" I said out loud.......there is NO WAY I was in the kitchen!  Where my back door is, there is nothing I could have laid my glasses on that they could have fallen off to land in the floor by the back door.  Beyond a shadow of a doubt... I knew someone or should I say "something" had put them there!  It took me by such a surprise that all I could do was LAUGH!!!!!!  I laughed out loud and said "Good one.  Now if you don't mind, I think I would like to go to bed and read my book".  I just know that whoever(ghost) it was playing this trick on me was laughing to themselves saying..."look at her....she has spent 20 minutes looking for her glasses in her room and I put them by the back door" hheehhaaww   It just made sense after all the other things that had happened that week.

It completely blew my mind so I grabbed my camera and took a picture of my glasses before I ever picked them up.

So, I guess my point to this whole story is, that sometimes people get soooo caught up in the darker and scary side of the paranormal that we forget that the spirit or ghost themselves at one time were living and enjoyed a good laugh every now and then.  Even with a spirit, you can have fun!!!!  Love to hear any of your stories about mischievous ghost...

What are Portals?

What is a portal?  Good question.  The general definition is a "gateway" or "doorway" to another dimension.  The word "Portal" and that it would even exist has great controversy surrounding it.
One of the most common places, I feel to find a portal is in cemeteries.  Of course, where else right?  So many of the older cemeteries were chosen for reasons from our American Indian lore.  They were said to be chosen for "sacred" or "spiritual" reasons related to the afterlife, making it a protected spot. Weird activity, hauntings and reports of bizarre occurrences continue to come from graveyards all over the country.  How, why can this be? 

Do I believe in portals?  Well, for me being a ghost hunter you have to be open to all kinds of possibilities and have the mind set that there are some things that just can't be explained by science or logic, so yes, I believe in portals.  My belief is that portals provide a way for the dead to communicate with the living and walk in the "now" world again.  They may be spirits that lived before or they may be something else all together.  Some researchers even believe that they could be otherworldly beings from some dimension that we cannot even comprehend.  Does this all sound far-fetched?  You bet ya!!!  I know how strange this sounds but entities that have been sighted, reports and even photographed around what many believe to be portals could be the spirits of the dead or perhaps something stranger.  If locations like this do exist and they are some sort of doorway, isn't it possible that these spots may have been labeled as being "haunted" over the years by people who saw  something near them that they couldn't explain?  I think it is possible.

There are many locations, aside from cemeteries, where strange events occur over and over again.  Some have suggested that these locations may be active because of natural, magnetic lines that run beneath the soil.  These lines are believed to cross the entire planet Earth, moving both north and south and from east to west.  Spots where these lines cross one another are thought to be especially active.

A place that may have a portal in it could be the ones that have balls of light, odd shapes or
unexplained figures that just continue to reported. 

The picture below is a picture that I caught a Dry Creek Cemetery, in Terrell, Texas.  This is a great old cemetery where we had lots of activity.  But what is the most interesting in this picture is that it is time stamped and when we were getting the most activity I snapped a picture to the right of a tree where a reported portal was.  I also, took a picture of the other side of the tree and there is nothing!!!  The wind was not blowing at all.  If it had been and it was dust blowing around then "dust" would have been everywhere and not just on one side of a tree and not the other.

So you decide... is it a possibility that we have "doorways" or "portal" that allow us to interact with other dimensions, spirits or something else we haven't yet figured out.  Just remember, there was a time when no one would have thought we would have put a man on the moon......just saying..  :)

True Story-Paranormal activity in my home!!

Hi everybody....wanted to share a story with you tonight that I thought would relate to last weeks topic...are children and pets more sensitive to ghosts.  So, I made the adjustment of topics in my UPCOMING EVENTS/TOPIC page.

One day after I had been investigating the Old Alton Bridge, I was on the phone the next night and had one of the most eerie experiences I think I have ever had!  Did a spirit follow me home? Well, something SURE did!!!

When we were investigating the bridge I had been using all kinds of different equipment.  And one piece of equipment I was using was a motion detector.  The way MY motion detector works is... it  is battery operated and has NO on and off buttons or switches.  It is activated(turned on and off) ONLY by the remote.  It has a sensor in the center that, when activated, has an area that flares out like this <  so that if anything breaks the beam in this area a very loud alarm will go off.

I had laid the motion detector on my dresser, on its side so that the beam(if activated) would be pointing toward my celling.  I have a equipment bag that I put all my equipment in and had just taken the motion detector out because I was going to put it in another bag that I had not taken.  Well, it was late, so I just sat the motion detector on my dresser and put my equipment bag with the REMOTE to the motion detector in it, in the closet and shut the closet door.

So, here's where it gets good!!! I was laying in my bed, talking on the phone with one of my friends.  My two, sweet little dogs...Holly and Tanner were laying on the foot of my bed with me as they do every night.  Both of them were fast asleep when all of the sudden Holly raised her head, perked her ears and walked over to the edge of the bed and started looking straight up at the ceiling.  She kept tilting her head back and forth as like she was trying to figure out what she was looking at.  uuummmm I had NEVER seen her do this before.  At the same time, my other little dog, Tanner did the exact same thing!!!  As I lay there on the bed.... I remember looking at them..... looking up at the ceiling and thinking to myself.....that is strange.......what are they looking at???  There is nothing there and certainly nothing up in the ceiling!!

All of the sudden.....the alarm starts blaring!!!!! What the heck?????? I am stunned!!!!!!  How in the world could that be going off????  It wasn't even activated!!!!!  There is no way that alarm should have been going off!!!!!!  My friend, on the phone, ask me "what is that????"  "It is soooo loud"!!!!  I said, it's my alarm.  I will have to call you back so I can turn it off.  By now, the dogs are barking wildly.

I get up and try to find the remote, forgetting that I had put it in the closet.  I am soooo confused at this point....I just don't know what to think!!!  I finally remember the remote is in the bottom of my bag in the closet which is EVEN MORE CONFUSING to me as how this alarm could be set!  Sure enough, I get my bag out of the closet and have to dig to the bottom underneath a lot of other equipment just to find the remote.  I press the button on the remote and finally get the motion detector to go off.  It was crazy, the dogs didn't act scared, after all that loud noise, they had been barking starring at the ceiling but as soon as the motion detector went off, both of them went back to the foot of the bed and laid back down, just like nothing ever happen.  REALLY????

forget the only way to activate it or turn it on was with the remote.

I just could not figure out ANY explanation for this no matter how far I reached........  It had brand new batteries, so that couldn't be it....nothing could have fallen on the remote because it was in the bottom of my bag in my closet, so that couldn't be it.......a bug couldn't have flown through the sensor area because it WAS NOT ON....NOT ACTIVATED, so that couldn't be it....... and what about the dogs!!!!!  They have never acted like that before!!!!  My conclusion.....it had to be that someone or something had followed me home!  Lets just say.... for the rest of the night......the motion detector was in the closet.....WITHOUT the batteries!!!  haha

So, do I think pets and ghost are more sensitive?  YES.  I believe my dogs saw something....something that was in the room with us long before I ever knew it.  And with the alarm going off... you decide.... :)
 

Are children and pets more sensitive to ghosts?

So have you ever just been sitting in a dark room, maybe just relaxing..... watching TV..... and your dog is laying on your lap and your just having a great evening when all of the sudden...... your dog looks up (seeming to you at nothing) and then jumps up and starts barking?  What is he barking at???  What does he see???  What does he hear???  uuummmm ??????

Dogs are sensitive to the spirit world. How they behave depends on the dog's relationship to the spirit. If it is the ghost of their departed owner or another loved one, a dog will often see them and may react with their usual greeting ritual, even curling up at or about the spirit's "feet" or "lap". If the ghost is a stranger, especially one with negative energy, a dog may react by focusing on "empty air",growling and having their hair stand on end, or by cringing in abject fear, even to the point of being unwilling to ever enter that room or area again.

Dogs have amazingly sensitive senses of smell and of hearing, way beyond typical human capacity. Isn't there a possibility that dogs will respond to stimuli that escape us completely? In whatever way dogs might actually experience this. 

And what about children?  Are their "imaginary friends" really...... imaginary???  This is a sensitive subject as some children do have great imaginations and then some children......well are "gifted" and can actually relate to spirits.  Now, by know means does this mean EVERY child that talks to someone sitting across from them at their little table having cookies and tea are ghosts.  BUT.....in some circumstances, they really may see someone or something.  So, here's the deal....Children SEE what they SEE and HEAR what they HEAR.  When a child is young, they have not learned to rash analyze things yet.  We as adults on the other hand, try to find an explanation for everything.  If the door moves by itself.....it must be the wind....if a plate falls off a table....you must not have set it on the table very well.....if you see a dark shadow move behind you......it must have just been your imagination.  See, that's just what we do because as we grow up this is what we are taught.  But as children....we have not learned that capability yet.  Children are VERY open-minded to everything! Spirits or ghosts know this.  So when they are trying to  communicate or let it be known they are present....they will try and communicate with children or pets.  This doesn't mean that your child has "special" powers to communicate with the dead nor does it mean anything other than your child is just being a kid and experiencing things in life as he/she sees it.  Now, each situation is different and you as a parent have to figure out........is it just Katlin.....the imaginary friend.....or is it Katlin that died in the house years ago?  And you as the parent will also have to decide how to handle this.....or if you need to do anything at all.

Hope this makes sense.  I tried to talk about this subject in a way the normal, everyday person could understand it.  haha  Listen, I need all the normal, everyday person explanations I can get!  LOL
