FIRST GHOST JOKE...

I heard my first GHOST JOKE today and wanted to share it with you guys...just because I love ya!!! :)

Ok here goes......Three ghosts are in jail....the 1st ghost ask the 2nd ghost..."so what are you in for?" and the 2nd Ghost says, "Home Invasion, and you?" The 1st Ghost replies, "Disturbing the peace" then he turns around and ask, "so what's HIS story.....what's he in for"?  And the 1st Ghost says, "OH MAN!!!! You don't want to mess with him.....he's in for Possession!!!"  Hahahahaha  Enjoy :)
 

DOLLS-WHY ARE THEY SOOOO DARN CREEPY!

Have you ever gone to someone's house that has a doll collection?  Maybe they have the dolls in the livingroom or even worse..the room where you are staying???  All those eyes.............just staring at you............and those creepy smiles..............to me they are saying......."close your eyes, I dare you!!!!!"  CREEPY....RIGHT???

 I think dolls creep us out because first, when you see dolls you think of children, or children playing and it is just scary to think that something intended for a child could be possessed or have some sort of paranormal activity attached to it.

As with any object, a spirit could come to attach itself for all kinds of reasons...love, hatred or just to mess with you because they can! lol  Reports of the heads moving, voices of children, eyes opening and closing are very common with hauntings involving dolls.  I guess a possession of a doll is know different from a possession of a house, toy, place or any other object that has had a previous owner that has passed away.  So, why does it seem that the dolls just seem more scary?  I don't know, to be truthful with you.  But to see a toy or a doll move seems to suggest that the spirit is someway related to children, but this is not always the case.  There have been reports that evil spirits can possess a doll to be used in a way that would lore a child into something bad.  For as long as time, voodoo has used dolls to cast spells on people. 

While doing research for this article, I would like to say, that I had NO IDEA how many sites there are out there where you can BUY a haunted doll.  Like http://www.haunted-dolls.com/dolls.html Are you kidding me?  Why would you WANT to bring a haunted doll into your home?  I don't really understand that...but you know...to each their own.

One of the creepiest things I think I have ever seen is the Doll Island.  IF you have not seen the clip where Destination Truth goes to the Island of the Dolls, you have got to check it out!  Josh, the host of the show really has a VERY INTERESTING experience.  It freaks me out to watch it and it also freaked Josh out to!!!!

As you know, I had previously talked about Phone Apps.  It is probably one of the most interactive topics on my blog.  People are always writing me "behind the scenes" with stories and experiences they have had with phone apps.  One of my viewers, Wendy from South Africa sent me a couple of pics she had taken with her phone using the Ghost Hunter Pro app.  I find them interesting and wanted to get you guys feed back as well. Thanks Wendy for allowing me to share our "conversation" with the readers.

First photo:  Lauren: Taken at about 15h00, outside behind my office. I was having a coffee and smoke break  The building is probably over 80 years old and various staff have reported eerie feelings and someone has even seen an apparition out of the corner of their eye. No-one likes working in the building once it is dark; except me of course 

2^nd Photo: Taken at about 19h00 at my house whilst watching TV.  Our house was once a horse stable (about 100 years ago), and was converted into a house. We have never had any disturbances up until August, when we moved a lot of furniture/pictures from my husband’s business into our garage. His business had alot of activity. (an Old barn over 150yrs old; saw apparitions, moving furniture, lights going on and off etc) So, for the last 3 months, our kettle will switch on randomly; and sometimes if I ask it to switch off, it will! So whether there is a link to ll the furniture in our garage and our guest, we wonder!

Ha ha...nice stories...but whether the photo’s are real or not, is another story!!

Here is my reply to Wendy:

Wendy here is my "gut" feeling.  I DO think that maybe a phone could be manipulated enough to spike the EMF meter on an app and possibility enough to form words through an electric device.  Although the pics are very interesting(I have gotten some myself with the app) I am NOT convinced that the app could detect a physical presence to prompt us to take a photo.  Think about it, when you are out on a ghost hunt, the equipment you use detects "energy levels" not knowing  if a physical presence is visual.  I think we still need more experimenting with the app at this point.  I don't know.... Is it "Possible"??? Sure..... Anything is possible, right?  I don't know... What do YOU think???  What is your gut feeling?

Now, I have been playing with several different phone apps and will be writing the pro's and con's on the different ones.  I will say, that the Ghost Hunter Pro app is the MOST interesting and seems to be useful at times when investigating.  I think of all of the ones I have tried this one seems to be the one I would say might actually have SOME merit to it.  What do you guys think?  Please write me if you have tried an app that you fun or interesting.

GHOST HUNTING-SHOULD YOU GO PRO OR JUST KEEP IT A HOBBY???

First, I am talking about last weeks topic. I got off track talking about the Bio Channel.  Sorry.  Hope to catch up by the end of the week.  So, to make up I am posting a day early. :)

Ok...Should you Ghost Hunt as a profession or keep it a hobby?  Whether you are a believer or a skeptic, ghost hunting can be a totally fascinating experience that blends aspects of spiritualism, adventure, and science.  A ghost hunter, also known as a Paranormal Investigator, seeks to collect data concerning paranormal activity in places reported to be haunted.

If you are looking for a profession that makes you TONS of money and makes you rich.....I have BAD news for you!!! This is NOT the way.....this "yellow brick road" does not lead to the land of OZ! LOL   It requires many hours of research, dedication, time, many times spending hours upon hours in places that are dark, cold, full of spiders, and the truth is you are going to places that know one else wants to go.

Although many people who start out in this field as a hobby eventually find themselves working at it full time, the transition from amateur to professional isn't always easy.

Here's where my honesty comes in...are you looking for all the glitz and glamour that somehow has gotten associated with Ghost Hunting?  Or are you TRULY interested in the research and the answers to "what happens after death"?  Those who know me, know I do it because it is in my heart, my soul, and my blood.  I am truly driven by the desire to prove....to MYSELF....and ONLY MYSELF that we can still connect with our loves ones or other souls that have pasted before us.  I am not here to CONVINCE you to believe in ghost....you have to decide that for yourself.  My goal HAS NEVER been to CONVINCE anyone ghosts exist...I like to think of it this way......bare with me.........I am a baker teaching you to bake a cake.  I am giving you......the flour.....eggs.....the milk etc....I am giving you ALL the ingredients it takes to BAKE a cake.......now it is up to YOU to bake  it and taste it for yourself and decide whether you like it or not.  Crazy example I know, but you know me......always thinking "outside the box". LOL    I am not going to lie, I am hoping to make a career out of it, writing books, speaking, investigating, etc.....I would LOVE to make a career out of the Paranormal field.  Who wouldn't want to make money doing a job that they are truly PASSIONATE about and LOVE....Right?  But I am not interested in the "fame" part of it.  But hey....a little "fame" never hurt anyone right??? LOL  I hope to publish a book someday and hopefully quit my day job as an HR Manager, research and share my experiences full time with people that are interested in the paranormal.

Being a ghost hunter as a hobby and exploring allegedly haunted sites and learning more about the supernatural world can be very fascinating.  Lately, there has been an explosion of interest in this field.  Many ghost hunters out there are VERY reliable but on the same token, many are just "jumping on the reality TV band wagon".  With the Internet comes a HUGE, GREAT resource for records and a world of information to help you study the paranormal.  Just be careful that what you are reading comes from a reliable source or website.

If your considering going pro, you are probably wondering what entering this field will cost.  Credible investigators are usually nonprofit organizations and do not charge for their investigations.  Some investigate cases with their own finances or money collected by donations and sponsors.  You might consider making local investigations free of charge, but ask to be reimbursed for hotel costs and travel expenses if you have to travel long distances.  Some will not charge a client under any circumstances. 

If you go pro, let me say that there is ONLY ONE and yes I mean ONLY ONE way you can advance your career in this field and that is your PROFESSIONAL REPUTATION.   Whether you are a pro or a hobbyist, you need to maintain a good reputation.  Again, don't go into an investigation with the thought "there IS paranormal activity here" instead go into an investigation with the attitude that "there is something NON-PARANORMAL happening here and we need to find the logical explanation for it". 

Bottom line, whether you decide you want to go pro or just keep researching the paranormal as a hobby....have fun!!!  Do what you do because it makes you happy.  ENOUGH SAID.  :)

CAN OBJECTS REALLY BECOME HAUNTED? BUT THEY DON'T HAVE SOULS?

It's a beautiful, sunny day and you decide it's the perfect day to go out and do a little antique shopping.  So you grab your purse(or wallet if your a guy lol) and head out to the local antique stores. You are just about to call it a day when what do you know......you find the PERFECT picture to go in that one spot in your living room that.....well.... needing something.  You can't WAIT to get it home and hang it.  You get home and it looks AWESOME!!!  You are thrilled!!!

Later that night, you take one last look at it in the living room before you go to bed...and yes....it looks perfect!!!  As you are sleeping, you are awakened by a loud noise.  You sit up in bed and realize that the noise is coming from the living room.  You listen intensely.  There it goes again!!! So you get up and with hesitation you slowly walk to the living room.  You get to the living room..... and turn on the light.  Well........everything looks to be in it's place and you don't see anything unusual.....wait......the picture......the new picture you just bought.....is gone!!! You look around and see that the picture is sitting above the fireplace not in the spot you originally put it.  What the heck???  Anyway, you put the picture back in its place and go back to bed.

This continues for several nights so you return to the antique store where you bought it.  You want to see if you can find out any history on it.  The lady at the shop tells you it belonged to her aunt.  It was her aunts favorite picture that she used to have hanging over her fireplace where she would set by the fireplace and rock in her rocking chair for hours.  One of her favorite things to do.  Now, it is starting to make sense to you...

Are you emotionally attached to any of your possessions and would never let go of those willingly? Spirits can feel the same way, and you may inadvertently bring one of theirs home in your next purchase at the antique store.  Spirits sometime follow their favorite or most important things around.

Here is an example of a object that was haunted.
















This painting was auctioned on Ebay on February 2000. It is titled, " The Hands Resist Him "...A pretty interesting title.  The owners said they found it abandoned behind an old brewery, took it home, and hung it in their 4-year-old daughter's room. The owners claimed they had paranormal experiences from the painting, for example, their young daughter claimed to see the boy in the painting exit it into their living room along with other phenomena, and even captured footage of the boy coming out of the painting.

Many viewers of the painting claimed to suffer from 'blackouts,' horrible feelings, feeling violently ill, paranormal happenings, all from just viewing the painting on the Ebay auction page.  When Bryan, a college student, first saw the painting he began to cry.  As he studied the photographs on the auction website, he claims his computer screen turned white and he felt a blast of heat coming from the monitor, "like when you open a hot oven door".  He called for his roommate, who was watching TV in the next room. Bryan was speaking in tongues, tears were streaming down his face, his hair was standing on end, and his face was beetroot red. "I'm telling you the absolute truth now,"

Bryan says, "I have never been so scared in all my life." There was another story of a brand new Epson printer that ate and mutilated page after page when the user tried to download images of this oil.  Also, a Native American became so ill after seeing the painting he had to cleanse his house by burning white sage. He warned the current owner of the painting not to put this item around small children, and that there is great evil contained in it.  This could however be some sort of "marketing ploy" to sell the painting, but the reports sound very possible since there are so many

RESIDUAL HAUNTINGS-MAYBE THEY JUST LIKE IT HERE!

Have you ever wondered WHY some ghosts seem to interact with you and others not?  Well, there are really two types of ghosts that  you will likely run into ghost hunting....a Traditional haunting and a Residual haunting.

I want to talk about the Residual haunting.  Of all the types of hauntings, the Residual haunting is likely the most common.  Certainly, it is much more common than most people think and I would say that a high percentage of ghostly activity falls under this category.

Simplest way to describe this kind of haunting is an old film loop or a recording  It can be a scene or image that plays over and over through the years that imprints itself on the atmosphere of the place.  This event can suddenly discharge and play itself at various times, just as a recording would.  The events are not always visual either.  They are often replayed as smells, sounds, and noises that have no apparent explanation.  The famed "phantom footsteps" that are reported at many haunted locations are a perfect example of this.

Often, the mysterious sounds or images that are recorded relate to traumatic events that have taken place and that have caused some sort of disturbance to occur there.  This is the reason why so many battlefields, crime scenes and areas related to violence have become famous for their hauntings.        

Residual hauntings will not involve missing or vanishing items, as there is no consciousness present.  While windows or doors may be opened and closed, it is because of energy expending itself, not because it is physically being manipulated by spirits.

So, WHY are they here?  Why do they keep doing the same things over and over?  Is there a logical explanation for this or do they just do this because they like it here???  For years, investigators referred to the "stone tape" theory as a possible cause for residual hauntings.  This revolved around the idea that building materials of the structure could absorb the energy and then replay it again later.

Water is a great conductor of electricity, so could it be the older buildings used much more water in their brick and mortar than today's materials used to construct a building?  Would this explain why older buildings seem more haunted than newer ones?  In theory, the older the building gets, the water starts to evaporate and therefore, the residual haunting becomes weaker and weaker over time.

And with this theory, would explain why renovations or remodeling seem to make the "haunting" more active.  Inside some structures, water may be "locked in" and prevented from evaporating, like inside of the wall or in the foundation.  Disturbing that may cause the water that has been stored for decades to be released and in this way, allow its memory to be played.  This stored water could hold a higher quality copy of the original event and this could seem to make the location "active" again with "ghostly" activity.  Once this water also evaporates, the haunting then fades away once more.

So, when we went to Jefferson, Tx a couple of months ago we caught a GREAT photo of who we believe is Mrs. Stilley who died in 1879 in the Grove(her home).  It is said you can see her in a corner of the living area looking out the window.  So, is the a Residual haunting or a Traditional one?  It seems she does not interact with people just looks out the window.

If you said Residual, then that is correct.  No intelligent interaction means it would be a Residual haunting.

PHOTOS OF MY GHOST STORY FILMING

I thought I would share my experience of filming My Ghost Story for the Bio Channel.  It just aired this past Sat. and it was truly a dream come true!!!  These are just fun pics of my experience.  Nothing "Ghostly" in them except some really  cool orbs out at the bridge as we were filming.Then I plan on posting (Finally) the pictures, evps, etc that they used on the show.  I wasn't allowed to show them until AFTER it aired.

Quickly, after my story on the Old Alton Bridge(Goat Mans Bridge)was chosen, we flew to LA. We filmed in the studio about 4 hours,(totally felt like OPRA because they have people following you around all the time) then we got to be on our own to check out Hollywood.  I LOVE IT THERE!!!!  Then we flew home and about two weeks later, the Bio Channel sent a camera crew out and we filmed and re-acted for 14 STRAIGHT hours in the freezing cold!!!  We would have to take 5 min breaks just to warm up because we were physically in pain from the cold.  But still it was fun.  We finished about 4am in the morning.  Oh well.....

VISITING MY GRANDFATHER AND THE APP FOR THE IPHONE M2-JUST A COINCIDENCE???

I have been chatting back and forth with one of my followers(Tyler) about the M2-Ghost App for the Iphone.  I have had several experiences with this app that makes me stop and think......hhhuuummm  If you would like to read about my first experience with this app look to the left side of my blog and you can read about it under Ghost Apps.

Anyway, I recently, as you know, went back to visit my Grandfathers grave.  I had not been there since he passed away 30 years ago.  But for some reason.....this past weekend was the day.

Anyway, I thought it would be interesting to play with the M2 as I was working around his gravesite cleaning it up.  I have attached the screen shot of the words I received that day.



First let me say that a very special person went with me to the gravesite to help me clean and make sure everything would be ok.  So, it was VERY hot that day and my grandparents grave was in direct sunlight.  The temp here is Texas was about 105!!!  As I was cleaning I was asking my grandfather if he could see us cleaning and make he and my grandmothers site look nice.....answer WATCHING.  And to be honest I can't remember what I had asked when we got the word NOWHERE.  But I no it VERY HOT and we got the word HEAT.  We were both wearing SHORTS and I was talking about how I just couldn't take the heat like I could before and the word ILL came up.  I had a CUP sitting on his tombstone with water in it and finally.......I have a young girl staying with me that who's name is  Anna but her family calls her................... you guessed it...........ANNMARIE.  Go figure.  I didn't think ANNMARIE was a common name that the M2 would just throw out.  When I got home I told Anna what the M2 had said and she totally FREAKED out!!!  She grabbed her phone and showed me a text she had just sent to one of her friends that said "What is with everyone calling me ANNMARIE all the time now?"  She said she didn't know why, but all of her friends had started calling her ANNMARIE.  Now, what do you think?  Was it just a coincidence that these words came up out at the gravesite or are they just random words that happen to fit with what I was doing?  I don't know....I am beginning to think there might be something to the M2 from the experiences I have had with this app.
