About Me

My photo
Behind Every Cloud is a Kindred Spirit (BECKS)I lost my grandfather when I was 17. I had a VERY difficult time getting over it. How could I still communicate with him? I loved him so much I didn't think I could live without him. I read everything I could get my hands on to do with the "afterlife" and that started it all...the love of Ghost Hunting and the Paranormal. I have been researching the paranormal for over 37 years!! It is my way of staying in touch with my grandfather. Being a Ghost Hunter is not always as exciting as it seems on TV. Many nights I have sat in the dark and not a thing happened. BUT it is those times you DO get that one voice, that one explainable picture or have an experience that sends chills down your back that makes it sooo worth it all!!! My purpose of this blog is not to make people believe in ghosts but maybe to open their minds just a little bit... I LOVE this crazy thing called Ghost Hunting. It is as much a part of me as breathing. I am just a girl that refuses to accept we can't still contact our loved ones after they die. My grandfather won't let me.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE FOOTBALL STADIUM IS HAUNTED???

So I am a big football fan and even though my Cowboys really sucked this year....don't....don't say it.....they suck every year.....(LOL) it won't be long before it's time for Super Bowl LII.   That got me to thinking.........about stadiums.  Talk about emotion!!!!! All that yelling!!!!  Some good "yelling" and some not so "good yelling".  There's happy......there's sad......anger....sympathy.... just about EVERY emotion you could possibly have could be found all in one place....on the same day... by thousands of people at the same time. Think about it....where else could that happen?

It totally makes sense right?  Fans and coaches staying or coming back to a place that they either loved or hated? Check out the stadiums that have their own ghost that NEVER miss a game!!!!

The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana have a long and storied history, and quite possibly the most famous ghost in sports. George Gipp was the first Fighting Irish player to make the All-American team and still holds the university record for the most average yards per rush for a season, but he would not get to live in glory for very long. One December evening Gipp slept on the steps at Washington Hall and afterwards caught pneumonia (some historians say he contracted the illness from strep throat). Tragically, he died from the illness at age 25 in 1920. But if the Gipper couldn’t live in glory, he would have it in death. Shortly after his death, doors in Washington Hall and throughout campus mysteriously closed, papers rustled and an eerie French horn blew in the night.
By 1925, there were reports of Gipp riding a white horse up the same steps, perhaps in an attempt to join the 1924 football team’s famed Four Horsemen: Jim Crowley, Elmer Layden, Don Miller and Harry Stuhldreher.  Gipp now has a new reason to be upset–last November his body was exhumed and stripped of a femur to settle a long-standing paternity suit. Buy tickets here to check out a Fighting Irish game and seek out the Gipper here.

Indiana University- Mr. Plume

The state of Indiana has yet another football player haunting his alma mater, and this story is more gruesome. Michael Plume, a student at the university in 1960 and an active member of the U.S. Air Force, suffered a tragic death that remains a mystery to this day.
Memorial Stadium is the second football stadium to be built on Indiana University’s campus. In February of 1960, months away from its completion, 19-year-old Michael Plume was found hanging from the rafters of the incomplete west side of the stadium stands. Though it was a construction site, Plume’s shoes were clean. His feet were resting in the bed of a pick-up truck, his neck had been snapped and he had been hanged by an 18-foot rope—gruesome, we know.
There are many theories surrounding Plume’s death, including espionage, murder and anti-gay sentiments; however, not one has been confirmed. Ultimately, Plume’s death was ruled a suicide, but Plume’s doubtful family would attempt and fail to reopen the case in 1988.
Plume’s ghost lingers at Memorial Stadium. Fans and stadium staff report seeing his ghost dangling in the same location. Catch a game and keep your eyes open for Plume hanging out.

Kansas State University – Nick

In the 1950s the East Stadium that sits on top of buildings below was used as the athletic dormitory with a cafeteria on the ground level. While on the field, Kansas football player Nick suffered an injury and was rushed to the cafeteria where he soon passed away. Today the area where Nick died is home to the Purple Masque Theater where Nick still hangs out. Nick can’t give up his college antics. The ghost moves auditorium chairs, plays music, makes wooden boxes levitate, and spins fire extinguishers. See the game and check out campus in search for Nick. Click here to see a game.

Detroit Lions and New York Giants – Jimmy Hoffa

Jimmy Hoffa is a phantom that manages to haunt two football stadiums. Hoffa was the leader of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters union and saw the union’s highest enrollment while in charge. However, with power came many enemies and Hoffa disappeared on July 30, 1975 from the parking lot of Machus Red Fox Restautant. Hoffa was never found, and many speculate that he was murdered. Hoffa was a major Detroit Lions fan, and the staff at Ford Field believe Hoffa is dead. Hoffa’s voice is heard all throughout the stadium cheering on his beloved team. Meanwhile, legend links Hoffa’s body to the old, now demolished, Giants Stadium. It is rumored that Hoffa’s body was buried under one of the field’s end zones in concrete. Before the stadium’s demolition in 2009, Mythbusters tried and failed to find Hoffa’s body in the end zones (the TV show aired Feb. 25, 2004)Click here for Lions tickets.

5. University of Wisconsin-Madison – Camp Randall

The Wisconsin Badgers’ stadium has a murky past that is begging to be heard today. The stadium’s namesake, Camp Randall, was in fact a Union soldier training ground during the Civil War and nearby was a prison camp for Confederates. Many soldiers died there and still show up dressed in slings and period clothing. On the ground where students now “Jump Around,” men once trained to fight America’s bloody battle. See a game at the haunted stadium here.
And a high school story…

6. Lee Williams High School – Pioneer Phantoms

Lee Williams High School in Kingman, Arizona is now situated on the grounds of an old Pioneer Cemetery that once held over 300 coffins of settlers and local Hualapi. Part of the high school’s football field and bleachers now stands on that hallowed ground of the old Pioneer Cemetery. During renovations in 2010 construction workers ran across a nasty surprise. In a trench dug behind the bleachers seven coffins and artifacts were unearthed. These ghosts, perhaps angry that their resting place had been disturbed, present themselves at games and graduations. A man in a bowler hat and a little girl demanding “to go out and play” are the most prominent apparitions. Feelings of unease, disembodied voices and light orbs are other unexplained paranormal activity.
Whether lore or reality, there is something to be seen and heard at these campuses and stadiums. Catch your next group game and enjoy more than just the center-stage action – watch for the sideline phantoms. Take a walk on campus and check out the spots where the football ghosts are said to frequent—and just maybe your group will catch a haunting glimpse of football history.

RE-POST -THE VERY HAUNTED SKINNER CEMETERY-SEE WHAT I CAUGHT ON FILM!!!!

This is an old cemetery that we just found by chance out driving around one day in Pilot Point, Tx.    It's not very big and a little run down but definitely old!   I know it's weird to describe a cemetery as "charming" but it was.  The headstones you can tell are old.  Some are broken, some have fallen over completely and here's the REAL CREEPY PART!!!!!  There are big holes where the dogs or some other animal has been digging up the grave!!!!  I know......RIGHT!!!!!  A couple of them appeared to have the casket showing.  So if you are going at night be careful not to fall in a "hole".  CREEPY!!!

And let me tell you...it was FULL of paranormal activity!!!

On this night we communicated with a young spirit we were calling Timothy but later learned his name is Josiah Taylor. He is the first person or should I say child to be buried here.

It was a slow night and I was setting up the video recorder as everyone else was walking around just taking pictures.  We were getting some really cool pictures of orbs btw.  Then just as we started recording, about 4 minutes in....well.....just watch the video. :)

On this night, there was not even a breeze blowing.  It was eerily calm.  We brought a ball and asked if Timothy would like to play with it....and you can see that HE DID!!!!!!!!!  You can hear the excitement in my voice as I didn't expect to have such activity right off the bat!!!  You'll notice, that the first time the ball rolls, it rolls to the left.  Ok...if there WAS a breeze (which there again, there was not even the slightest breeze blowing) let chalk it up to the wind although the ball rolls in two different directions.  The second time, Timothy rolls the ball....he actually pushes it off the brick...and it appears to roll backward and then rolls forward  It looks like he caught it and rolls it back.  And not only that, THIS TIME it is in a completely DIFFERENT DIRECTION!!!!!!!!  I can tell you, being there and experiencing it first hand was AMAZING!!!!!  And I can't WAIT to go back!!!!

I would love to hear what you guys think of the video. :)

HIGHWAYS GHOSTLY HITCHHIKERS-NEED A BACKSEAT DRIVER????

Happy New Year everybody!!!!!!!!!!!  I hope you have a wonderful and safe new year!!!

For most of us, driving down a highway is nothing unusual.  And when we get to where we're going....it is pretty much but forgotten about the road we just traveled.  But when darkness comes, the highway that brought us such enjoyment now brings us stories of ghosts, hauntings, and the supernatural.  Wait??? Was that the shadow of the trees....or something more sinister?

Whether it is vanishing hitchhikers, street walkers, phantom travelers, or lost souls, you are bound to hear story after story of haunted highways.

I think one of the most common tales is that of the Phantom Hitchhiker.  Phantom travelers are ghosts of  humans, animals, or even a vehicle that appears along a roadway, trail, or at a rest stop.  The haunting is usually associated with a tragedy, an anniversary, a wrongdoing, emotional turmoil, or some other connection with the specific location.

The tale of the phantom hitchhiker-a ghostly figure that enters your vehicle, only to suddenly disappear without warning-is an archetype and the most common of all ghost travelers.

Lets say you are driving down a long, dark highway and the headlights of your car provides just enough light that you are able to make out a figure standing on the side of the lonely rode.  What the heck???  Why would ANYONE be out in the dark by themselves late at night????

Well for whatever reason you pull over to see if you can help.  As the figure peers in your car window they ask if you could give them a ride to a certain address.  You gladly agree.  You have a nice conversation on the way to the location.  Suddenly, you reach the address and you stop and turn to tell the passenger you made it...........and without any warning.........the ghostly figure is gone.

So, I'm sure you all have heard of the most famous story of all.............. Resurrection Mary.
The story goes that around 1939 the ghost of a young girl with long blond hair and blue eyes, dressed in white, started appearing along Archer Avenue between Willow Springs and Justice, Illinois. She would suddenly materialize in the middle of the road.  Some motorist claim their cars passed right through the girl.  If you were brave enough to stop, she would softly ask to be taken to OH HENRY PARK, where she could be seen dancing throughout the night.   When the dance hall would close she would ask someone at the dance hall for a ride.  Sometimes she would ask to be let out Resurrection Cemetery.  Then she would open the gates and disappear.

Now, NOT all highways are haunted by apparitions of people.......motorist have reported seeing ghostly headlights.....spooky animals....even phantom cars and trucks.  For whatever haunts these dark and lonely highways....we may never be able to prove exactly why they are there.

My guess is, they are staying around for the very same reasons anything else becomes haunted.  Unfinished business...... don't know they are dead....and that to me ....I think is probably the best explanation more than anything else.....they don't know they are dead.  Death happens so suddenly sometimes, that a spirit doesn't know what has happened and stays in the place it knows best or was last at....obviously there are more tragic wrecks with other cars and trucks, people and animals on highways than other locations. This could explain why there are such a "variety"of apparitions seen on one highway.  Just a thought....

Haunted Highway 666
And lets not forget Highway 666 has been hailed as one of the most haunted places in America. It is located in the region that is identified as the “Four Corners”. Many know the “Four Corners” as the States of Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico – not the entire states, only certain geographical locations of each state. In the year of 2003, the United State renamed the ominous highway to U.S Route 491. Christians believe that the number that is reflected in three sixes represents what they refer to as the “Number of the Beast”. When this highway was under its assumed evil number identifier, many referred to it as the “Devil’s Highway”. Based on statistics, there were an unusually high number of accidents and fatalities on this road when it was named 666, so many gained the belief that anyone that traveled on this road would immediately be cursed.

Now, buckle up and enjoy the ride. :)
