NOT EVERYTHING IS A CHILD'S GAME! THIS PINK OUIJA BOARD SHOULD NOT BE ON YOUR CHILDS CHRISTMAS WISH LIST

We all know kids these days start making out their "wish list" for Christmas in July. LOL But when I heard Hasbro made a Ouija Board that was pink and targeting children as a game or a toy, I just had to speak up!  I thought it was a joke.  I am not going to get on my "soap box" about this, but I DO want to express my concern that this is NOT a good idea for children.  Heck...it's not a good idea for adults in my book.  But I felt the need to share my opinion because you know, I have an opinion on everything!!!!  With all the TV Shows on about the paranormal now, it makes it seem VERY EXCITING for kids to become interested in trying different ways to communicate with spirits because this is what they see on TV.  Please folks....we talk to our children about the dangers with drugs and driving after .......I know it sounds funny...but talk to them about the things they are seeing on TV.  Let them know that it is VERY DANGEROUS for them to try and communicate with spirits.  The people they see on TV are experts and they know how to protect themselves.    

Now, please I'm not saying it has to be a "big production" talk....just a few simple facts and let them know that a Ouija Board is NOT a game and they shouldn't try to communicate with spirits unless they are with someone that knows what they are doing. 

I want all the kids to get EVERYTHING they ask for this year for Christmas......well except for this!!!!!

It's that time of year where we are all on the road more than we probably want to be, but with Thanksgiving, Christmas and a New Year more than likely you are making a trip to somewhere you will HAVE to stay in a hotel. Well......... I say...........Pick one that is HAUNTED!!!!!!!!!!!!  Now that's a TRIP!!! LOL

Have you ever walked into a place and thought, "If only these walls could talk?"  Hotel rooms have been witness to passion, hate, misery, joy, sickness, and death so it's know wonder that they would have spirits haunting them. And the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee is just such a hotel.

The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is just one of those places that from the minute the front door opens your eyes widen and your heart beats just a little faster at the beauty and luxury of this amazing place!!!  I was lucky enough to stay at the Pfister Hotel some time ago on a business trip.  SSSSHHHH....now MY business might not have been the same as my BOSS had planned for me! I'm pretty sure he didn't say "now Becky, pick out the most HAUNTED HOTEL to stay in and spend YOUR nights wondering the halls going up and down the stairs and hallways looking for ghosts".  But for the life of me..........it just seems to turn out that way every time. LOL

The Pfister Hotel

Now, back to the Pfister.  The story on the Pfister is Guido Pfister was born in Germany in 1818 and a Tanner by trade.  He moved to Milwaukee in 1847 and partnered with Charles Vogel to eventually become one of the most successful leather manufacturers in the Midwest.  He believed that Milwaukee needed a first-class, world-class hotel.  He wanted a magnificent building where people would feel privileged to stay but at the same time, he also hoped that folks from every social class would feel free to mix and mingle. Unfortunately, Mr. Pfister died in 1889 before a single stone was laid.  His son Charles, and daughter, Laura Vogel, immediately set about to fulfill their father's dream.

The Pfister opened its doors on May 1, 1893.  And just as Guido Pfister had hoped...... it was one, if not the most luxurious hotel in the country.  Running completely on electricity made it the most modern of its time as well.

Charles Pfister died in 1927 and his spirit is said to have been seen in the rooms of guest, the hotel's original marble staircase, the musicians' gallery in the ballroom, and in a storage area on the ninth floor.  Is Charles still watching over his father's dream hotel?

Many guest have reported hearing knocking, TV's and air conditioner's turning themselves on and off, even a phantom dog that has been heard yapping in the corridors.  BUT one of the more famous reports of a paranormal activity came from Carlos Gomez,  a outfielder for the Minnesota Twins.  He says that back in July 2009 he was coming out of the shower and heard voices in the other room.  But when he went to check there was know one there.  He also said that his Ipod would come on by itself and start to vibrate.  Every time Gomez turned it off, it would start up again.  He now request a roommate when staying in the hotel.  In addition, over the last few years more than 4 or 5 professional baseball players have reported seeing  or experiencing some sort of paranormal activity in the hotel. To this day, many of the Brewers baseball team will not stay at this hotel.
 
Now, did I experience anything paranormal?  DARN!!!  I did not.  But I can tell you that while I was walking the halls late at night taking pictures....I NEVER felt alone......it was just THAT FEELING you get like someone is watching you. 
 
Now, if you plan on visiting the Pfister, which I HIGHER recommend you do......be sure to ask if you can stay in the ORIGINAL towers because they have since added an additional tower or two.  So far, no activity has been reported in the new additions.

THE WHISPERING COTTAGE IN MINERAL WELLS, TX-DO YOU DARE???

Sorry, everyone I have been out on vacation for about 10 days and can you believe it, I put down all my social media for the trip...and guess what?  It was great.

One of the best things about writing a blog and being involved in ghost hunts is meeting others of "like mind" and hearing their stories and experiences.  And this weeks is from a very nice lady that I met and we are going to be investigating together in January at the very location she is talking about.  The Whispering Cottage in Mineral Wells, Tx.

I want to give Lisa a huge SHOUT OUT for writing about her experience at this newly found paranormal location.  Enjoy.

Whispering Cottage is a beautiful two story home located in Mineral Wells, TX. We rented the entire house for a private event to host a friend’s birthday, you know something out of the norm for a birthday. We arrived at the house around 6:30 p.m. and we were greeted by Mike and Julie, the investigators for the evening. They were both very nice and informative about the property. We were taken on a tour of the house and given a little history of the location.

There have been at least three deaths on the property, one suicide, one murder and one was an accidental death from a fall down the stairs. We were not given any names of the spirits in the house because the investigators did not want to plant anything in our heads and wanted to see if we would get the evidence on our own. After receiving a 101 lesson on how the equipment worked we set out to investigate. Little did we know there was already activity occurring upstairs that was caught on one of the many IR cameras located throughout the house! The camera caught several orbs in the bedroom just floating thru the air. One came straight out of the wall.

I decided to use the Ovulus to communicate with the spirits and I was not disappointed. I received several responses to questions asked and it even said my name! I sat in the Occult room for a while and the Ovulus was very active in there. My boyfriend laid his hand on the Quija table and when he did the Ovulus said three words “person, creek, trip” which immediately gave me chills because my boyfriend, who’s hand was on that table, has a broken back at the moment because he tripped and fell into a  creek!!! NO… we did not mess with the Quija board at all!!! Shortly after that my boyfriend went into the closet where the door has been known to open on its own. When he opened the closet door to come out, the Ovulus said “closet”.

I went upstairs to do an EVP session with a couple of the girls and while we were up there I saw an unexplained light. Shortly after that I had this overwhelming sensation that I can only explain as feeling like I was being wrapped in energy. I had goosebumps up both arms and it lasted for several minutes. We received the name Rose over the Ovulus more than once and the investigators said that is a name they have not heard there before. We also received the name Rose thru the spirit box.

This was an overnight investigation and several of us slept upstairs. All of the bedrooms upstairs are connected and can be accessed without going out into a hallway. We had several people sleeping on air mattresses and during the night I heard footsteps walking around. I assumed someone had gotten up and gone to the bathroom. I sat up and looked and I could see that everyone was accounted for on my side. The next morning my friend that slept on the other side in the bedroom said her and a couple of the others heard footsteps and asked me if anyone had been up walking around. The investigators told us early on that people have reported hearing footsteps and we definitely did.

As we were getting ready to leave the next morning I was packing up something and getting ready to walk out the front door when I heard my name called. Naturally I thought it was someone here in the living so I turned to my friend and said “yeah” she looked at me and said “what?” No one had called my name!!!!

The Whispering Cottage did not disappoint and we are already planning another visit in January! There were a total of 20 of us and about half of us took it seriously and those of us that did all had some sort of experience.
