LET'S TALK ABOUT TAKING THINGS FROM A HAUNTED LOCATION. IS IT OK OR ARE WE JUST ASKING FOR TROUBLE?

We've all heard that you are never supposed to take something from a haunted location, right?  Well, what if curiosity gets the better of you and you just can't stand it, you have to take SOMETHING?  Just a small rock, just a small bottle of dirt, or maybe just this little, bitty piece of glass.  That won't hurt anything and nothing bad will happen. Right? Wrong.

Everything that is anything has an energy and sometimes that energy can be attached to an object and sometimes it can be attached to a location.  Stories and stories have been told about someone just picking up the smallest of objects from a haunted location only to find that they soon start experiencing paranormal activity or bad things start to happen or they suddenly start "seeing things" that they have never seen before...hence...ghosts.

Think of it like this.  You are sitting in your living room just minding your own business when someone steps inside your house and takes your coffee cup you left sitting on the coffee table and then they just walk out.  I'm pretty sure you would be like WHAT THE HELL and go after that person to give it back to you.  Right?  That coffee cup belongs to you in your house.  That's what happens when you are in a haunted location and you take something from it.  It is not yours, and it should stay where you found it. 

So, before I tell you my story just let me say...I KNOW BETTER!  But here we go...

A couple weekends ago, my boyfriend, Deak and I decided to take a long drive out to an abandon cemetery I had heard of Red River Station.  Let me say, it was quit the chore to find this cemetery!  We literally had to drive through farm land full of cattle to get to it.  And it was in the middle of NO MAN'S LAND let me tell you!

Before we found the cemetery, we went to a very small community called Spanish Fort.   At its peak, the town had numerous businesses and churches, a Masonic lodge, five physicians, four hotels, and several saloons. Spanish Fort became known as a very rough and tumble cowboy town, and at least 40 murders are said to have occurred during the cattle drive heyday.  Native Americans long used the fertile areas near the Red River for farming and hunting. Taovoyas took over an abandoned French garrison here around 1750 to defend against Spanish incursions in the area. In 1759, in the Battle of the Twin Villages, a Spanish army under Col. Diego Ortiz Parrilla attacked the Taovoyas' fortified position, but were defeated by a force of both the Taovoyas and Comanche tribes. Anglo settlers later misnamed the area Spanish Fort after assuming that the Spanish forces had built a fortification there, rather than the French.

There is nothing left of this town but an old store front and a small wooden house that sits beside it.

Well, of course, we parked, got out to explore the two remaining building.  There is nothing inside them and the windows have been broken out and the ceiling is all falling in.  The perfect place to have a ghost hunt.  Just sayin...:)

As I was walking around the old buildings and I found a piece of glass that I could tell was very old.  Greenish in color and very thick.  Not like you would see today.  So, I picked it up and looked at it pondering as to what it used to be and stuck it in the pocket of my hoodie.  Now, wasn't that a good idea???  NOT!!!!

Literally as we were getting back in the car, I pulled the piece of glass out of my pocket and showed it to my boyfriend, Deak.  He asked me was I going to take it?  And Deak has been with me long enough and been to many haunted locations and knows the "law of the lands" per say.  I could see it in his eyes he thought I should put it back.  I had one foot in the car and the other out, just staring at it, rolling it around in my hand, while my curious mind was saying, "Take it.  It's just a piece of glass but how cool would it be to have something from that long ago".  Then, the Becky Ghost Hunter voice was kicking in, saying "Don't do it!  You know better!"  But after a few minutes of the battle of the minds, I decided that it wouldn't hurt anything and stuck it back in my pocket.

This was on a Monday.  We were off because it was a holiday.  Martin Luther King Day.  We finally found the secluded, abandon cemetery and I will tell you about that, next time.  You won't believe THAT story!!!

So, the whole time I have this piece of glass, this nagging little voice keeps saying, "You shouldn't have taken that." And I keep thinking, "It will be fine".  So, we found the glass on Monday and Tuesday comes along.  I have a miniature schnauzer named...you guessed it Kasper, yes after the ghost but spelled with a "K".  You know how you know your dogs habits and how he or she acts, well I noticed that Kasper would sit on the end of the couch just starring at the staircase.  Like, intense staring.  This is something, I had never seen him do before.  He wasn't barking or growling, just staring.  I would ask him, "What's wrong boy?" and he would just look at me for a minute and go back to staring. hhhhhuummm Clue-number one that something is not right.  When I tell you this went on all day and night, it went on all day and night.  Finally, we go to bed around 10:00 and he sleeps with me at the foot of my bed.  

It was around 10:15pm and I was on the phone with Deak telling him goodnight when all the sudden, Kasper jumps off the bed and starts barking and runs into the living room. (Just for the record, he is not a barker.  Very rarely does he bark other than when I first arrive home)  I can hear a loud man's voice but can not tell what he is saying.  I tell Deak "Just a minute" because I am so confused as to what is happening.  Even Deak hears it on the other end of the phone and asked "What is that"?  Well, I have an Alexa in my living room as well as every other room in my house but ONLY the living room one had turned on.  It was a man's voice not a song, but it was so loud that I just turned it off without really paying attention to what it was saying.  Here's the even stranger part.  I have all my Alexa's connect to one group.  This mean whenever Alexa is on, it plays on all the Alexa's in the house NOT JUST ONE!  So, not only am I puzzled about how it came on by itself, I am confused as to why it is not playing on all the Alexa's.  hhhhuuummm  Clue number two something is not right. 

Now, it's about 3:15am in the morning and again, Kasper awakens me by jumping off the bed, barking and runs into the living room.  I sit straight up and from my bed I can see down the hallway a bright light and I can hear that the TV is on.  What the hell?  I didn't leave the tv on.  Can I   So, I get up and go to the living room, and sure enough the tv is on.  I turn off it off, and go back to bed with Kasper. Clue-number two something is not right.  I do find it strange, but not strange enough to keep me up so I fall back to sleep, as does Kasper.  Then, 4:00am rolls around and all the sudden my living room Alexa comes on with some man talking!  Can this really be happening in the same night???  I jump up and run to the living room and nothing was happening and the Alexa was off.  What the hell???  Am I losing my mind?

I finally go back to sleep and before I knew it, it was 6:00am and time to get up for work.  As I got ready work, I couldn't help but think of all the things that had happened the night before.  It was just to much!!!  Holy cow!!!  WHY?  Why was I having so much activity in my house?

The thought did cross my mind, could it be the piece of broken glass I picked up and brought home?  Of course not!  It was just a small piece of broken glass lying on the ground. So what?  

I went to the kitchen to make myself my usual glass of chocolate milk.  I got out the milk, mixed the chocolate syrup in, stirred it, and set the glass on the counter to put the milk back in the refrigerator as I do every morning.  But THIS morning, I turned around and knocked the glass of chocolate milk off the counter and it fell to the floor shattering into pieces and milk went everywhere!  Damn!  I had never done that before.  As I started to pick up the pieces of broken glass, I suddenly had some clarity on what was going on.  I am a BIG BELIEVER in signs and how much more of a "sign" do I need than picking up a piece of broken glass?  My sign was obviously the glass I had picked up from Spanish Fort was the cause of all the things happening in my home.  It couldn't have been more clear!!!

So, I went to my bedroom, got the piece of glass out of my nightstand and immediately took it out to the garbage, which how perfect that it was trash day as well.  I dropped it in the garbage bag and said a little prayer then took it out to the street to be picked up by the garbage truck.

Here's what I want people to know.  It doesn't matter how big or how small or how insignificant an object may seem, IT DOESN'T BELONG TO YOU!  You have to think of it like this.  A stranger walks in your house and takes something of yours, and turns around and walks out.  Are you going to just sit there and let them go, or are you going to try and find them and get the object back?  Spirits are no different.  These things belong to them.

So please, don't take anything that isn't yours.  What started happening to me at my house, was very minimal compared to what really could happen.  Much more dangerous things can be attached to an object.  So, be careful and be safe.

30 OF THE MOST TERRIFYING HAUNTED PLACES AROUND THE WORLD!!!!

Well it has been a rough start to the new year.  Thank you to everyone that has emailed me with "well wishes".  I had to have major surgery and have been out for two weeks and on top of that I had the flu....so it can only get better from here...right????? (Please say RIGHT)

You guys are the BEST!!!!!!!!!!! I really appreciate all the sweet little cards and different things you have sent.  Have no fear...this ghost hunter may be down but I am NOT OUT.....in the haunted houses and locations just yet BUT I WILL BE SOON!!!!!!!

It seems that one of the most enduring aspects of cultural similarity found throughout the world involves the supernatural.  No matter where you go across the globe, you’re going to hear various legends and ghost stories…except some of these carry significantly more weight than your average campfire story.  People seem to be somewhat obsessed with what goes on after death, especially in regards to whether or not the spirits of the departed stick around.  It would be easy to say that such attention can be blamed on vivid, Hollywood inspired imaginations, but documented reports of supernatural disturbances go back several centuries in many places, underlining the fact that no matter the time period or society involved, the paranormal remains on people’s minds and those factors are responsible for these places being the most haunted places in the world. The reality is you need a really good story to ensure the most haunted places on Earth are truly as they are advertised. What is the most haunted place in the world? Well, depending on the person, the answers can be wildly different. For many, the creepiest places in the world could be abandoned mental health institutions while others may insist that the scariest places in the world are places with unbelievable tales of woe.

1. Monte Cristo Homestead, New South Wales, Australia

Considering the amount of tragic and violent deaths that have occurred here, it’s little wonder that this is viewed as Australia’s most haunted locale.  Several people have died sudden, accidental deaths, while others have been murdered, leading to high paranormal activity throughout the estate, making it one of Australia’s truly scary places.

2. Castle of Good Hope, Cape Town, South Africa

Active since the early 20^th century, various apparitions reported include a man who walks the ramparts and a dog that jumps on passersby.  The most interesting story involves the ghost of a woman seen running through the complex crying, and finally disappeared when excavations uncovered a woman’s body. What is the most haunted place in the world? Any list must start with this particular edifice.

3. The Tower of London, London, England

Once of the most terrifying places on Earth dating back to 1078, this fortress/royal palace has had plenty of time to garner some paranormal activity.  Famous ghosts seen here include the headless ghost of Anne Boleyn, along with Lady Jane Grey and two princes believed to have been murdered by their uncle, Richard III, in 1483.

4. The Ancient Ram Inn, Gloucestershire, England

What could be more terrifying than the prospect of satanic sacrifices and malevolent entities?  This 12^th century inn exhibits all of this and more.  Its owner even testifies that the first evening he spent in the house, he was snatched out of bed and dragged across the room by some invisible entity. It sure looks quaint, but don’t be fooled by one of the scariest places in the world.

5. Banff Springs Hotel, Alberta, Canada

This major historic hotel is home to several different spirits, some kindly, and others rather more unnerving.  A regularly sighted spirit is that of a former bellman who helps with guests’ luggage.  Other such visitors include a bride seen dancing in the ballroom and the ghosts of a murdered family. DC Comics fans may notice it resembels the fictional Arkham Asylum, and as such, is one of the creepiest places in the world.

6. Chateau de Brissac, Maine-et-Loire, France

Dating back to the 11^th century, this beautiful castle was the site of a horrific double murder, resulting in the haunting of the castle by the Lady in Green.  Wearing a green dress, and her face that of a rotting corpse, wanders through the castle moaning.

7. Island of the Dolls, Xochimilco, Mexico

In the ‘50s, a man moved to this island in order to be alone, only to find that it was haunted by the spirit of a little girl who drowned here decades before.  In an attempt to appease her, he bought countless dolls and hung them from the trees.  After a while, he felt that she wasn’t satisfied, and that she wanted him to be a ghost with her.  The same day he confessed this fear to a relative, he was found dead, having drowned in the same spot she did years before.  Their ghosts can now be seen on the island, and the dolls are said to whisper as you walk past and definitely making this island one of the scary places on Earth.

8. The Sallie House, Atchison, Kansas, United States

Named after the prankish little girl who haunted it, this house also contained a far more malevolent spirit of a woman who escalated so much in violence towards the male owner of the house that he and his family finally moved out of fear for his life – as one would if they lived in the world’s most haunted places.

9. McMenamin’s White Eagle Saloon, Portland, Oregon, United States

When it comes to the physical effects of hauntings, this century-old hotel and bar warrants heavy attention.  Many guests have reported waking up in the night and being unable to leave their beds, as if held down, as well as being shoved down the stairs, making it Oregon’s contribution to the list of haunted places around the world.

10. Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh, Scotland

Considering that it sits on a site with human activity dating to the Iron Age, it’s little wonder that this castle has accumulated a few supernatural residents.  Commonly reported apparitions include former servants of the castle, a drummer boy – minus his head – and a man who apparently perished within the castle’s tunnels making it among the most haunted places on Earth.

11. Akershus Castle, Oslo, Norway – One of the Nordic’s Scary Places

Built as a strategic fortress, used as a prison, and home to the site of Nazi orchestrated executions, this castle is a hotbed for the supernatural.  As Norway’s contribution to the most haunted places in the world, this castle’s most well-known apparitions haunting the castle and its grounds are a robed a woman and Malcanisen, a demonic dog whose sighting results in the traumatic death of the witness a few months later.

12. Old Changi Hospital, Changi, Singapore

Operating since the 1930s, this hospital was seized during the Japanese during World War II and turned into a prison and torture facility for the Japanese Secret Police.  Many apparitions have been seen here, such as men and women wandering down halls and through rooms, children, and bloody Japanese soldiers.

13. Mary King’s Close, Edinburgh, Scotland

Hauntings here have been reported as far back as the 17^th century, making this one of the most enduringly haunted places in the world.  The Close is composed of a series of underground streets and tunnels that led to various businesses and homes in the 16^th and 17^th centuries.  After plague broke out here it was abandoned, but apparently many spirits of plague victims and past residents still remain.  Footsteps that seem to follow close behind are often heard, as well as disembodied voices and various apparitions, including a little girl named Annie.

14. Highgate Cemetery, London, England – The Memorials Are the Scariest Places in the World

Established in 1839, this cemetery is the final resting place for over 170,000 people and has been the site of numerous supernatural reports.  The most famous siting is that of the Highgate Vampire, a tall man in a long dark coat and top hat with a terrifying gaze.  Other apparitions include various dark figures, ominous glowing eyes, and a crazed old woman who runs through the graves and tombs apparently looking for the children she murdered.

15. Greyfriars Kirkyard, Edinburgh, Scotland

The main paranormal occurrences at this cemetery are attributed to what has been dubbed the Mackenzie Poltergeist.  After Sir George Mackenzie’s mausoleum was broken into by a homeless man, extreme supernatural occurrences began to take place.  Visitors would leave with scratches and bruises, sometimes even broken fingers, while it has been documented that, to date, nearly 200 people have blacked out at the cemetery since the mausoleum was broken into.

16. The Forbidden City, Beijing, China Beckons Tourists to Visit One of the Creepiest Places in the World

Home to Chinese royalty for centuries, this impressive imperial complex was also the site of a long string of murders over the years, from calculated assassinations to crimes of passion.  Many apparitions have been sighted by tourists, staff, and guards, ranging from former to concubines to supposed royalty.

17. Sai Ying Pun Community Complex, Hong Kong

Operating first as a nurse’s facility, and then as a mental asylum, this combination 19^th and 21^st century building has its fair share of haunts.  The most notable apparition appears as a sort of devil in traditional Chinese clothes who bursts into flames.  Other sightings report headless specters that roam the halls at night.

18. Aokigahara, Mount Fuji, Japan – Its History Makes it One of the Scary Places on Earth

For centuries, Aokigahara, or the Sea of Trees, has been a haunted place.  Hundreds of people have committed suicide here, sometimes as many as 100 in one year.  Those venturing out into the forest have reported encountering the spirits of these people, some of which aren’t particularly pleasant.  Even Japanese folklore describes this as a place of demons.

19. The Myrtles Plantation, St. Francisville, Louisiana, United States

Most plantations have a checkered past, thanks to their association with slavery, but this 18^th century plantation stands above the rest.  Several occupants and their children have died here, either from disease or murder.  It is also rumored that a slave was lynched here after poisoning some of the family.  Several distinct apparitions are repeatedly seen here, either walking through the house or across the grounds.

20. Hell Fire Club (Montpelier Hill), County Dublin, Ireland

Used by the Irish Hell Fire Club in the early 18^th century, this former hunting lodge was reputedly the site of various satanic rituals, including black masses and animal sacrifices.  Its use by the club diminished after a mysterious fire.  It is said to be haunted by former members of the club as well as being the domain of the devil.

21. The Skirrid Inn, Llanfihangel Crucorney, Wales

Apparently the site of numerous hangings over the centuries, this little inn in Wales sports a great deal of paranormal activity.  Objects are suddenly thrown across rooms, apparitions are seen, and extreme drops in temperature are felt, along with the sensation of a noose slipping around the neck.

22. Rose Hall, Montego Bay, Jamaica – The Caribbean’s Contribution to The Most Terrifying Places on Earth

The legend surrounding this former plantation house is that one of its owners used to practice voodoo, and that she used it to kill several husbands as well as numerous slaves.  The house is now reportedly haunted by their spirits as well as hers.

23. The World’s Most Haunted Places Unexpectedly Includes the St. Augustine Lighthouse, Florida, United States

Built in 1874, this still functioning lighthouse has become the home of several spirits over the course of its history.  The ghosts of two little girls have been seen throughout the lighthouse, so too that of a woman, who is often seen and heard crying and asking for help, and a former lighthouse keeper who frequents the basement.

24. The Queen Mary Hotel, Long Beach, California, United States

Once a transatlantic ocean liner and now a permanently moored hotel in California, the Queen Mary has been touted as one of the country’s most haunted hotels, and taking into account its bevy of ghosts, it’s not hard to see why.  Two different women drowned in the ship’s first class pool, and now their ghosts are often seen there.  Various apparitions have been seen throughout the bar and lounge areas, most in period dress.  One particular room, B340, displayed a great deal of activity, but is now no longer available.  Coincidence?

25. Beechwood Lunatic Asylum, Victoria, Australia – One of the  Most Haunted Places in the World

Opened in 1867, this asylum was open to literally everyone, from patients admitted by family to those found wandering the streets and the criminally insane.  For well over a century, this institution proved to be the final stop for many people before entering the afterlife, something some of them seem to have taken to heart.  Several different apparitions have been reported here, from the cellars to the uppermost parts of the buildings.  Disembodied screams are often heard, and heavy doors are seen to open and slam shut of their own accord.

26. Aradale Mental Hospital, Ararat, Victoria, Australia

In operation for over 130 years, this mental institution housed some of the British Empire’s worst mental cases and was known in its early years for inhumane psychiatric treatments and experiments.  Thousands died here, and many of them have stayed behind in spirit form.  Various apparitions have been reported, some of which watch people as they roam the extensive complex.  The feeling of being touched as well as sudden sensations of pain are also reported.

27. Bhangarh Fort, Bhangarh, India

Built in the early 1600s by King Sawai Madho Singh, this fort protected a small city of roughly 10,000 people and included a royal palace.  According to legend, a sorcerer fell in love with the King’s daughter and in the process of trying to seduce her, he died, cursing the town to be destroyed.  Shortly thereafter, an invading army destroyed the fort and killed virtually everyone who lived there.  Locals refuse to live anywhere near the ruins, and have ensured that it’s closed after dark due to the presence of various ghosts that have been reported roaming through the complex.  There have been cases where people have been at the fort at night, only to turn up dead in the morning.

28. Chateau de Chateaubriant, France – The Most Beautiful of the Haunted Places Around the World

Dating back to the 11^th century, this castle has experienced a rather turbulent past, filled with war and murder.  In the early 16^th century, the wife of the castle’s owner died here, and many from that period all the way to today say that she was murdered by her husband due to her affair with the King of France.  It is said that every October 16^th – the anniversary of her death – a bloodstain appears in her room, and her ghost is often seen wandering the castle.

29. Paris Catacombs, Paris, France

Containing the bones of thousands of people, these catacombs were never really meant to house human remains.  Due to overcrowded cemetery conditions in the 18^th century, many remains were relocated to the spider-webbing tunnels beneath the city.  While the bones are laid out in artful arrangements, stories of discontented spirits abound.  Many people have reported seeing apparitions as well as being touched or shoved, and that some people have disappeared within the catacombs altogether.

30. Moosham Castle, Salzburg, Austria

This 12^th century castle was the site of countless executions of women condemned of witchcraft throughout the Middle Ages.  As a result, many of these women have come to haunt the castle in spirit form, with apparitions ranging from sad to angry ones, and even a few headless individuals.  Many people report hearing voices and screams, as well as a particular spirit that tends to hound visitors in an attempt to make them leave.

NOTHING LIKE A GOOD VACATION RIGHT? NOTHING EXCEPT SPENDING YOUR VACATION IN SOME OF THE SCARIEST PLACES IN THE WORLD!!!! HAUNTED TRIP #1

Pack your bags.....summer is almost here and that means.....VACATION!!!!!  Don't forget your favorite flip flops, clean underwear and your K-2 METER!!!  Here are some of the CREEPIEST.....MOST HAUNTED places all across the world that you may want to spend some time at this summer......that is....if your BRAVE ENOUGH!!

I will be doing vacation "HAUNTED TRIPS" all summer long so be sure to watch for additional places that will make you want to sleep with the lights on!

Some, you may not have heard of and some are poplar tourist stops for the "ghost hunter" in all of us but trust me.....these will make your daydreams.....NIGHTMARES!!!

Lets get started:

1.  POLVERGLIA ISLAND-This is said to be one if not THE MOST HAUNTED PLACE IN THE WORLD!!!  This place has been officially closed to visitors by the government but for a STEEP PRICE and your right arm, you can preside a boatman to take you there.

Across the Venetian Lagoon, far from the elegant city of Venice, lies the ghostly island of Poveglia.  Uninhabited, overgrown, and out of bounds to the public, the island has a disturbing history.  Originally a quarantine station for 18th century travelers who might be carrying bubonic plague, it quickly became a mass death pit for plague victims.  The plague raged through Italy at the end of the 18th century and more than 160,000 that's right I said 160,000 people were thrown into mass graves or piled up on bonfires on Poveglia Island.  Fifty percent of the island's soil is thought to consist of human ash.

In the 1920's, the authorities built a mental hospital on the island.  According to locals the psychiatrist in charge tortured and murdered his patients until going mad with guilt and throwing himself from the bell tower.  The doctor is said to have survived the fall but was immediately asphyxiated by a ghostly mist that rose from the ground.

Scaffolding stops the building from crumbling away, but weeds ramble over the windows, preventing any light from penetrating the lower floors.  From the turret of the bell tower where the doctor's threw himself down, a beautiful view extends across the lagoon.  Ghost hunters claim to have heard the doctor's screams echo inside the tower, smelled burning corpses in the rooms and witnessed the ghastly cries of the mentally ill bound to their beds.

2.  ST. LOUIS CEMETERY-I am planning on visiting this place (among others in New Orleans this June!  I'll let you know how it goes)  Marie Laveau was born a free woman of color in 1794 and died an old woman in 1881.  Respected and feared by all, she was a legend in her own lifetime and her supposed tomb in St. Louis Cemetery receives pilgrims to this very day.

A devout Catholic, Marie attended Mass daily, but she also became the most famous and powerful voodoo priestess of New Orleans.  A skilled herbalist, she was widely consulted on medical matters and would sit with dying patients or condemned prisoners in their final moments, serving them their last meal.  Widely sought after by people from all levels of society, Marie helped clients get a lover, keep a lover, or get RID of a lover.

At the age of 25 married Jacques Paris, who mysteriously disappeared six months later.  She then lived as common-law wife to Christopher Glapion and went on to have 15 children!!!!  The youngest of these, also called Marie, followed in her mother's footsteps.

It is said that if you visit Marie's tomb to petition herm your wish can come true.  She accepts money, cigars, white rum, and candy as offerings.  Some people mark three crosses on the side of her tomb to activate the magic.  In voodoo it is believed that when a priestess dies, her spirit reenters the river of life and moves to the next realm, adjacent to the earthly one.

3.  COLOSSEUM, ROME, ITALY-Many disembodied spirits are said to remain at this well-known heritage site.  Tales abound of slaughtered gladiators who return by night to reenact their final combat, while invisible chariots rattle across the long-vanished sand.  Visitors describe hearing Latin spoken or seeing Roman guards silhouetted against the evening sky.

Countless victims of religious persecution met a grisly end in the jaws of lions and tigers here, but more horrors lay in the underground vaults where prisoners died from their wounds.  The sounds of weeping slaves, swords clashing, and animals howling have all been reported.  Some visitors claim to have seen figures cheering in the stadium and the ghosts of corpses rise from the ground.  In the first century A.D., one of the church fathers, St. Ignatius of Antioch, was martyred here, ripped apart by lions.  His ghost is said to wander the arena every night in search of his mutilated  hands so that he can continue writing his epistles and letters to the Romans.

In A.D. 404,  a Christian monk, St. Telemachus, tried to stop a gladiator fight and was stoned to death by the crowd.  The emperor was so enraged by the massacre that he stopped all gladiator sports in Rome.  Many visitors to the arena have reported seeing a saintly figure crying for help.  Some who may never have heard of St. Telemachus and his terrible story have also reported a sensation of being stoned alive!
