About Me

My photo
Behind Every Cloud is a Kindred Spirit (BECKS)I lost my grandfather when I was 17. I had a VERY difficult time getting over it. How could I still communicate with him? I loved him so much I didn't think I could live without him. I read everything I could get my hands on to do with the "afterlife" and that started it all...the love of Ghost Hunting and the Paranormal. I have been researching the paranormal for over 37 years!! It is my way of staying in touch with my grandfather. Being a Ghost Hunter is not always as exciting as it seems on TV. Many nights I have sat in the dark and not a thing happened. BUT it is those times you DO get that one voice, that one explainable picture or have an experience that sends chills down your back that makes it sooo worth it all!!! My purpose of this blog is not to make people believe in ghosts but maybe to open their minds just a little bit... I LOVE this crazy thing called Ghost Hunting. It is as much a part of me as breathing. I am just a girl that refuses to accept we can't still contact our loved ones after they die. My grandfather won't let me.

WHAT ARE GHOSTS REALLY?

Are they sugar and spice and everything nice?  I wish!!!  Most people tend to think of  a ghost as someone who has died and come back to "haunt" us.  Right??? Truly defining WHAT GHOSTS ARE can be a little complicated.  Defining a ghost in words is one thing.... but defining a ghost in reality is a bit more tricky.

First, you would have to determine what "ghostly" means.  Is it the TV that goes on and off by itself....is it that dark shadow that you seem to see every time you are in the basement?  What EXACTLY is a ghost????  Webster's dictionary defines a ghost as "a disembodied human spirit".  I would agree with that.  Now, even though everyone THESE days seems to be an expert in seeing and hearing ghost.....I do believe there are investigators out there that have TRULY experienced and documented unexplained occurrences that force US to pay attention.  And here is the BIGGEST thing we have to contend with when trying to identify exactly what is a "GHOST" is ....... the INTERPRETATION of the witness!  The person that saw the GHOST!!!

So many people believe that you can only BECOME a ghost if you have had a soul!  Created by God and put on this earth to live and breath until HE calls you home again.  I agree with that statement to a point.....GOD did create us and intended on us to have a life here on earth....BUT how do you explain all the OTHER things that we consider "ghostly" sometimes.....you know....a car that is seen with no driver, the plane that people see in the sky over and over at the same exact time of the day, a motorcycle that runs up and down the road?  What about those?  So, for me, ghosts can be the presence of something that at one time DID have a soul or something that at one time DID carried a lot of energy.

Is EVERY shadow, every transparent figure a ghost?  No.  Sometimes there aren't any easy answers when you are talking about the paranormal.  So, you know me....I'm going to try and give you "Beck's two Cents"....on what I believe a ghost is.  A ghost can be residual energy....that is played over and over again in a particular location or event site and this type ghost has no interaction with the living.  A ghost is someone that has left this world suddenly or unexpected and may not know they are even dead.  A ghost can be something that has such a STRONG connection to someone or something in the "Now world" that they have a hard time letting go or FEEL that they are STILL needed here on earth to complete a task.  These type ghosts ARE interactive with us, the living.    Bottom line.....See, a ghost cannot be defined by one particular sentence or statement.  Do they exist???.....YOU BET YA!!!  But until we can TRAP one(lol)...and study it over and over we cannot say FOR SURE exactly what a ghost is........we can only INTERPRET from our finding and know that there is something that keeps us ALL needing answers about the afterlife.  We may never have those answers...but I will continue to search.......you can count on that!!!! :)
