ALCATRAZ IS PURE EVIL! ONE OF THE MOST ACTIVE PARANORMAL PLACES IN SAN FRANCISCO!

One of the most evil places in America!!!  Yes.....Alcatraz!  And I can't wait!  I will be visiting this place NEXT WEEK!!!!!  So, you guys hang around and when I get back in a couple of weeks, hopefully I will have some "good stuff" for you. :)

In the late 1850s, the first inmates to occupy Alcatraz were military prisoners who were put to work building a new prison that later became known as "The Rock." The U.S. Army used the island until 1933, at which time the Federal Government decided to open a maximum-security, minimum-privilege penitentiary to deal with the most incorrigible inmates.

Alcatraz was designed to break rebellious prisoners by putting them in a structured, monotonous routine until their release. Prisoners were given four basic things - food, clothing, shelter and medical care. Receiving anything beyond that had to be earned. Famous criminals, such as Al Capone, George "Machine-Gun" Kelly, Alvin Karpis and Arthur "Doc" Barker, spent time in Alcatraz. Mobsters in other prisons often managed to manipulate special privileges from guards, but not at Alcatraz.

Tough Punishment

• The Strip Cell
  Prisoners refusing to follow prison rules risked being confined to the Strip Cell, located on the lower tier of D Block. It was a dark steel cell, where inmates would be stripped naked and given water and bread once daily, an occasional meal and a mattress at night. The only 'toilet' was a hole in the cell floor and there was no sink. While there, convicts had no contact with others, spending their time in pitch-dark solitude.

Similar to the strip cell, there were five 'hole' cells also on the lower tier, where prisoners were kept in isolation for up to 19 days. The cells had a toilet, sink, lightbulb and a mattress provided during the night only.

Prison Closure

Because of the huge cost to refurbish the prison it was closed in 1963. Later the island and parts of the prison were reopened by the Parks Services for daily public tours.

 

Tales of Torture

The fact that Alcatraz was built on an island and kept so isolated from public view, tales of inmates being tortured and of their bitter spirits coming back to haunt the halls of Alcatraz began to circulate.

 

The Ghost Stories of Alcatraz

• The Utility Corridor
  One of the areas which some claim is the most active with paranormal activity is a utility corridor where inmates Coy, Cretzer and Hubbard were plummeted with bullets after a failed prison escape. It is there that in 1976 a night security guard reported hearing unexplained eerie clanging sounds coming from inside.
   
• Cell 14D
  Cell 14D, one of the 'hole' cells is believed by some to be very active with spirits. Visitors and employees have reported feeling a raw coldness and at times a sudden 'intensity' encompasses the cell.
  Tales have been told of an event in the 1940s, when a prisoner locked-in 14D screamed throughout the night that a creature with glowing eyes was killing him. The next day guards found the man strangled to death in the cell. No one ever claimed responsibility for the convict's death, however the next day when doing head counts, the guards counted one too many prisoners. Some of the guards claimed seeing the dead convict in line with the other inmates, but only for a second before he vanished.
   
• Warden Johnston
  Other stories have circulated that Warden Johnston, nicknamed "The Golden Rule Warden," also faced a bizarre event while showing some of his guests around the prison. According to the story, Johnston and his group heard someone sobbing from inside the prison walls, and then a cold wind whisked past the group. Johnston could never explain any reason for the occurances.
   
• Cell blocks A, B, and C
  Visitors to cellblocks A and B. claim they have heard crying and moaning. A psychic visiting wrote that while in Block C he came upon a disruptive spirit name Butcher. Prison records show that another inmate in block C murdered Abie Maldowitz, a mob hitman known as Butcher.
   
• The Ghost of Al CaponeAl Capone, who spent his last years at Alcatraz with his health in decline from untreated syphilis, took up playing the banjo with a prison band. Fearing he would be killed if he spent his recreational time in the "yard," Capone received permission to spend recreation time practicing his banjo in the shower room.
  In recent years, a park ranger claimed he heard banjo music coming from the shower room. Not familiar with the history of Alcatraz, the ranger could not find a reason for the sound and documented the strange event. Other visitors and employees have reported hearing the sound of a banjo coming from the prison walls.
   
• More Paranormal Reports
  Other odd events experienced over the years include guards smelling smoke, but finding no fire; sounds of unexplained crying and moaning; unexplained cold spots in areas of the prison and claims of seeing ghosts of prisoners or military personnel.

GHOST HUNTER APPS-GIVE THESE A TRY-SCARY AND TERRIFYING-REPOST

I know, a day late and a dollar short!  That's me!  Sorry, I have no excuse for posting a date late other than I flat got my days messed up. :( 

I wanted to do a re-post about Ghost apps. The last time I posted about these apps I got some of the greatest comments about people who have had experiences with these apps.  If you want to read their comments, just put in my search page ghost apps and you can read them from there. 

It's summertime and more of you are getting the fever to get out and do a little ghost hunting.  So, if you are out and about or lurking around dark, creepy haunted houses (lol) why not try out these apps.  Here are just a few of the Ghost Apps that I have played with.  How much "stock" do I put in these apps.....not sure, but in today's world of technology I guess just about anything is possible.  So lets talk Ghost Apps for Iphones.

Main Screen

So first lets talk about the Ghost Hunter M2.  It is a little "dorky" because when you first turn it on (but you can turn it off in the settings), it plays cheesy thunder and lightening sounds...but oh well.  This seems to be so far anyway, one that has "some" merit to it.  It has definitely picked my interest at times.

Cost: .99 cents
How it works: When you first turn it on, you will get a screen that at the bottom has several different options to on this app.(hint: three appear on the main screen, but just tap on it and use your finger to scroll down several more options.

The very first "option" says Dashboard.  The Dashboard is a combination of all the different options you can use but in the Dashboard they ALL are up and running at once.  The top one(Sweep) will show different colored "dots" that supposedly indicate spirits that are around.  The second one shows the EVP's that you get.  Next, you have the EMF that shows the different readings around you of Electromagnetic Field.  Then, you have the Audio.  It can detect a very broad range of frequencies, some undetected by the human ear.  This is where you can record your words. and last is the Geo used to analyze the data presented by the system's electro-mechanical sensor array.  What does all that mean??? I don't really know....lol.

The very first day I downloaded it at work. I didn't really know how to use it.  But it looked fun and interesting.  I went home and was just sitting in the living room and decided to turn it on..  So, I turned it on and just put it on the chair and continued just to relax and watch tv.  Nothing was happening...the radar was going around and around but no "blimp" on it at all and no words where showing.  After about 30 mins all the sudden... the radar starts going off and there was a little blue light on the radar.  I thought...huummmm interesting....and then....(because it has sound) it said "Rebecca" and the word "Rebecca" shows up on the screen!!!  NO WAY!!!  Now...... I wish I could say that being a Ghost Hunter that I thought this was way cool....but the truth is...... I thought "What the ???????"  It scared the crap out of me! lol  I know, I know, I am suppose to lie and say it didn't but it DID!!!!

Now, I don't know if everyone knows this but Becky(my name) is short for Rebecca!!! Oh, NOW I have your attention....lol  I didn't really know what to do...so I did the bravest thing I could think of...........I TURNED IT OFF!!!!! How could it know my name??? It couldn't be retrieving names from your phones account because my cell phone is in Becky.  huuummm  But to me anyway, Rebecca is a pretty WEIRD word to through out there!  What do you think?

The next app I want to review is the Paranormal App. This is a fun little app but I'm not sure it's nothing more than an entertainment app.  All it does is when it detects spirits dots will show up on radar.  Then you will hear a beep and then this creepy writing starts to come and writes a word.   That is all this app does.  It does not save the words to a log so if you want to record the words you get, I screenshot them.  But you have to be quick, the words only stay visible for a few seconds.

And the last app I want to talk about is one of the creepiest apps I have run across so far.  Now, I'm not saying that it is one I would put a lot of stock in either but this thing is darn CREEPY.  It is the Ghost Radio.  It is used like a "spirit box" where spirits can make words through white noise.  It does take a while before you start to get communication (so it says).  But you will see on the screen in red writing "entity detected" then you will hear either a man's voice or a woman's voice that is trying to say something by using phonics.  But let me tell you, it sounds scary!!! LOL 

 

Now, it does record the words or EVP's for you, it DOES record audio in a log so that you can go back and replay it.

 And I'm sure you guys have all heard about the Ghost Radar.  It has two different apps the Ghost Radar Classic and the Ghost Radar Legacy.  They both do basically the same thing...radio that detects spirits and then gives you the EVP's and logs them.  I kinda like this little app.  Sometimes it seems to be relevant to the investigation and other times it just seems like random words.  But...it does log your words, which I like and it is easy to use.

DEADLIEST SCHOOL MASSACRE REMEMBERED 89 YEARS LATER.

AN INSANE GHOST WITH HER OWN LIBRARY CARD? YES. IT'S TRUE.

As you can imagine, being a ghost hunter you spend LOTS of time at the library and on-line.  So, when I heard about this story I just wanted to share it with you...  

                                                                       THE BERNARDSVILLE LIBRARY
Bernardsville Library used to be located on  2 Morristown Road in Bernardsville, NJ. The house was built in 1710 and started out as a tavern, then became a farmhouse. Eventually it became the library.  The Library was dedicated in May 1970.  It is believed to be haunted by the ghost of Phyllis Parker, the innkeeper's daughter.  In 1777, soon after Phyllis's marriage to Dr. Byram, Byram was hung for being a British spy.  His remains were sent back to the tavern in a casket.  Unaware of its contents, Phyllis opened it and found the glassy-eyed stare of her beloved.  Unable to bear the horror, she went insane!  Her weeping can still be heard in the oldest part of the library, the reading room, where it is said that poor Phyllis opened the casket.  Doors opening and closing, slamming as if they were "dropped"  like when Phyllis might have opened and dropped the casket lid.

In 1974, after beginning renovations, her ghostly apparition began appearing to employees.  In an attempt to contact Phyllis a se'ance was held in 1987, the results of which can be replayed during a visit to the library.  And it appears that the ghost of Phyllis has remained all these years, because in 1989, a young child reported seeing a woman in a long, flowing white dress, in the reading room.  In fact, the library staff has seen Phyllis Parker so often that they even issued her a library card.



Of course, this is not the real one issued.

There is no record of her life after this point, or of her death, but it is believed that the ghost of Phyllis Parker remains at this tragic site where she first saw the remains of her dead husband in the casket.  Something she can NEVER forget and NEVER move on without her beloved husband.  Her insanity keeps her trapped

One other quick note, in the small town of Bernardsville, the police have actual reports of seeing a woman in the building when the building is closed and no one is inside.
 

REAL LIFE EVENTS THAT HAPPENED ON FRIDAY THE 13TH!!!!!!

Well it's Friday the 13th!!!!!!!!!!  One of the worst days of the year!!!!!!!!  So they say..........  I say..............go out and FACE YOUR FEARS!!!!!  Step on a crack and see if it breaks your Mothers back.  NO NOT REALLY.........I wouldn't test that one!!! LOL

Anyway, here are some REAL LIFE events that happened on Friday the 13th and they didn't have a happy ending.

1. A daredevil's death leap
Perhaps Friday the 13th wasn't the best day to stage a leap into New York's Genesee River. But then again, concern over the date may never have occurred to Sam Patch, an early daredevil who made his name by jumping off a cliff near Niagara Falls on Oct. 17, 1829. Patch, who was born around 1800, lived before Friday the 13th superstitions were prevalent. (They probably emerged closer to the end of the 1800s, or at least that's when folklorists find the first written records.)

A child mill worker, Patch would get an adrenaline rush by leaping off of mill dams — a talent he eventually spun into public stunt shows for cash. The Niagara leap made him a national name. Less than a month later, however, Patch arrived in Rochester "half drunk," according to "Sam Patch, the Famous Jumper" (Hill and Wang, 2003) by Paul E. Johnson. Some 10,000 people gathered to watch Patch leap from Genesee Falls on Friday, Nov. 13, 1829.
What happened next is lost to history, but an 1883 article in The New York Times reported that Patch "did not retain the position while descending or strike the water as he did on the former occasion," when he had previously made a similar jump. Whatever occurred, the Friday the 13th leap was Patch's last.

2. The "Black Friday" fires
On Jan. 13, 1939, a bushfire tore through Australia's Victoria province, killing 36 people in one day. This "Black Friday" fire was the deadly icing on top of a terrible fire season for the province. According to Australian Emergency Management, a total of 71 people died that January, and 75 percent of the state was affected by the flames.
Drought exacerbated the already-dry Australian summer that year, and amateur attempts to back-burn dry vegetation all too often spread out of control, contributing to the blazes that spread across the state. All told, about 1,300 buildings, including 700 homes, were destroyed in the January blazes. [Top 10 Deadliest Natural Disasters in History]

3. Buckingham Palace bombed
During World War II, Nazi Germany began an intensive bombing campaign against the United Kingdom, targeting London in particular. On 16 occasions, Buckingham Palace itself was hit, according to the City of Westminster Archives Centre.
One of the most destructive of these hits occurred on a Friday the 13th. On Sept. 13, 1940, Queen Elizabeth and King George VI were at tea, according to the Archives. Five bombs struck the palace, one of which destroyed the interior of the Royal Chapel. Another ruptured a water main. Three people were injured, one fatally.
Additional bombings would follow, but the palace survived the war with only slight damage.

4. Kansas floods
July 13, 1951, was an extremely inauspicious day for northeastern Kansas. The rains had been coming down hard and heavy since July 9, bringing up to 16 inches (40 centimeters) of precipitation to the Kansas, Neosho, Verdigris and Marais Des Cygnes rivers. On that Friday the 13th, records were broken. In Topeka, the Kansas River rose to 40.8 feet (12.4 meters), which was 14.8 feet (4.5 m) above flood stage and 6 feet (1.8 m) higher than any flood ever measured to that date, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Topeka was swamped, as was Lawrence. In the Manhattan, Kansas, business district, the water stood at 8 feet (2.4 m) deep. It was the single worst day of flood destruction in the Midwest to that date, according to the NWS. Twenty-eight people died, and another 500,000 were displaced until the waters receded. The NWS and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers estimate the damage amounted to $935 million at the time, which is equivalent to $6.4 billion in today's dollars.

5. A Cold War crisis
On Friday, June 13, 1952, the Cold War turned hot when the Soviet Union shot down a Swedish military transport plane. Eight people were on board the plane, which the Swedish government insisted was merely on a training flight. For its part, the Soviet Union declared it had no involvement in shooting down the lost DC-3.
However, a life raft with shrapnel damage was found during the search for the wreckage, according to the Swedish Air Force Museum. And one of the rescue planes (a Catalina) was shot down by Soviet fighters mere days after the DC-3 disappeared.
Both Sweden's and the Soviet Union's stories eventually fell apart. Almost 40 years after the so-called "Catalina Affair," Swedish officials admitted that the plane was a spy plane. Likewise, in 1991, the Soviet Union admitted to shooting the plane down. In 2003, the wreckage of the lost plane was found on the floor of the Baltic Sea. Four crewmembers were identified, but the other four remain missing. The remains of the plane are on display at the Swedish Air Force Museum. 6. A murder goes ignored
One of New York's most brutal and notorious murders occurred on Friday the 13th. On March 13, 1964, bar manager Kitty Genovese was stabbed and raped by a stranger, Winston Moseley. The attack took more than a half-hour, and an early New York Times article reported that 38 people witnessed the attack and failed to call the police. The tragic case became a staple in psychology classes as a way to illustrate the "bystander effect," or "Kitty Genovese syndrome," which occurs when people fail to act in a situation because they assume someone else will step in.
The story appears to be more complicated, however; subsequent journalistic investigations revealed that this initial article inflated the number of witnesses and the number of attacks, and that it mistakenly claimed that Genovese was already dead by the time ambulances arrived. Several witnesses did see parts of the attack and turned away, but most saw only snippets and did not understand the gravity of the situation, or did intervene, albeit not quick enough to save Genovese's life.

7. A deadly cyclone strikes
The deadliest tropical cyclone in history struck on Friday, Nov. 13, 1970, in Bangladesh. Making landfall that Thursday night, the Bhola cyclone killed at least 300,000 people, according to the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research.
The storm was equivalent to a Category 3 hurricane, with sustained winds of 115 mph (185 km/h). Even more devastating was the storm surge. Funneled by the shallow geography of the Bay of Bengal, the ocean pushed onto land. According to a 1970 report from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the surge pushed water up to 16 feet (5 m) high. With nowhere to evacuate to, people climbed trees to escape the rising waters; many were swept away.
"The highest survival rate was that for adult males aged 15 to 49," researchers reported in a 1972 article in the journal The Lancet, "which is consistent with the impression that those too weak to cling to trees — the old, young, sick and malnourished, and females in general — were selectively lost in the storm."

8. An infamous story of survival begins
On Friday the 13th in October 1972, the Uruguayan Old Christians Club rugby team boarded a turboprop plane to travel to a match in Chile. They never made it. Because of a navigational error, the plane careened into an Andean mountain peak, crashing on a high-altitude snowfield.
But the ordeal was only the beginning for 27 of the original 45 passengers who survived the crash and its immediate aftermath. Without cold-weather gear or much food, they were forced to improvise water-melting devices and eventually eat from the bodies of their lost companions — an ordeal memorialized in the 1974 book and 1993 movie "Alive." An avalanche killed eight more survivors at the end of October, and illness took the lives of others.
Incredibly, rescue did not come until the end of December, after two survivors launched a death-defying effort to hike out of the rugged terrain for help. The last of the 16 survivors were rescued on Dec. 23, 1972, after 72 days in the frigid wilderness.

9. A lesser-known plane crash kills 174
According to a statistical analysis by the Aviation Safety Network (ASN), superstitious passengers need not worry about flying on Friday the 13th. The "unlucky" day is no more prone to plane crashes than any other. In fact, the overall rate of fatal crashes on Friday the 13th is lower than the average of all days.
But Oct. 13, 1972, was not a great day to fly. The same day the turboprop plane carrying the rugby team went down in the Andes, a much larger flight crashed near Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport in Russia, according to the ASN. The Ilyushin-62 airplane was carrying 164 passengers and 10 crewmembers from Paris to Moscow, with a stop in Leningrad. As the plane approached the airport, it flew into the ground at an air speed of 385 mph (620 km/h). Everyone on board was killed.
According to the ASN, the cause of the accident was never determined. Mechanical malfunction is one possibility, or the pilot may have lost control due to a lightning strike.

10. Tupac Shakur dies
Friday, Sept. 13, 1996, was a tragic day for hip-hop, when rapper Tupac Shakur died of gunshot injuries in a Las Vegas hospital. Shakur had been injured on Sept. 7 in a still-unsolved drive-by shooting and died from those injuries on Friday the 13th.
Theories on the ultimate motive for the murder quickly proliferated: business disputes, personal feuds, gang violence. Some die-hard conspiracy theorists refuse to believe that Shakur really died, and insist that he is still alive somewhere, in hiding. [Top 10 Conspiracy Theories]

11. A master of suspense turns 100
Alfred Hitchcock was born on Aug. 13, 1899 — a Sunday. That's two days off of perfect horror-movie-myth kismet, but never fear: The famous filmmaker would have turned 100 on Aug. 13, 1999, which was — you guessed it — a Friday.
Hitchcock's work as a director was dark and often spooky, from the murderous "Psycho" to the creepy "Rear Window" and the obsessive "Vertigo."

12. Freak blizzard hits Buffalo
Residents of Buffalo, New York, have come to expect a lot of snow in the winter months. But 22 inches (56 cm) in the middle of October?
That was the snowfall total recorded at the Buffalo airport on Oct. 13, 2006, during the "Friday the 13th" blizzard. (The towns of Depew and Alden, New York, got 24 inches, or 61 cm). The storm was so unprecedented that NOAA's history of the blizzard can barely contain itself: "Words cannot do justice to the astounding event which opened the 2006-2007 season," reads the agency's website.
The snow that fell on Buffalo and upstate New York starting that Thursday afternoon and continuing into Friday was heavy and wet, and because the trees had not yet lost their leaves, branches snapped like matchsticks under the combined weight. Almost 1 million people lost power for up to a week because of the storm, according to NOAA.

13. A cruise ship capsizes
On Jan. 13, 2012, a peaceful Friday of cruising off the Tuscan coast turned chaotic as the Costa Concordia cruise ship struck a reef off the Isola del Giglio and began to tilt. At first, passengers were evacuated by lifeboat, according to the Associated Press, but as the ship came to rest on its side in the shallow water, survivors had to be airlifted to shore by helicopter. Thirty-two people died in the wreck.
A massive salvage operation took 19 hours to raise the ship from the reef where it came to rest. The captain of the ship, Francesco Schettino, was arrested for multiple manslaughter and for abandoning the ship instead of directing the evacuation. Perhaps appropriately, the verdict in the case is expected this week, right around yet another Friday the 13th.
 

NEED A REST? THIS ROADSIDE PARK COMES WITH A CEMETERY AND A HAUNTED SCHOOL.

If you are ever up in Arkansas around the Fayetteville area, driving on the curvy roads that leave you breathless to the mountains beauty you may want to take a break at this roadside park.  But be WARNED.....you may THINK you are ALONE.....but your NOT!!!

Oh no...this roadside park comes complete with a cemetery and an hundred year old school.  You may think you are going to rest but the spirits there may have different ideas!

At this roadside park otherwise known as The Witter Cemetery....the trees are very old and very tall and have beautiful overhanging limbs.   The green grass is kept well and it is obvious that this is a special place to someone or to many that keep it up.  There is a small white school that sits just ever so quietly in front of the cemetery as not to disturb those who may be resting.   And guess what?  They have "guard dogs".......LOL  I wouldn't make ANY SUDDEN movements!

Once you step out of the car you feel an instant, peaceful feeling come over you here!!  With the trees that shade you from the sun, and the cute little benches beneath them....have a seat.........relax...........enjoy all this........... as the "guard dogs" get up ever soooooooooo slowwwwwwllllyyyyyy.....to come great you with a nice, wet kiss!!!!

I could find out very little about this place.  The schoolhouse itself could be a hundred to a hundred and twenty years old.  From what I can tell...there really isn't much on The Witter Cemetery.
Here are some photos I took with my phone camera....because you know.....when you see a roadside park area you don't expect to see a CEMETERY and a hundred year old SCHOOL sitting there so you don't have your BEST equipment at hand.

Now, all of this sounds very peaceful......very nice.......and you really wouldn't expect to run into a spirit here right???  Ok.......other than the fact that there is a cemetery right there......... LOL

My Dad and I got out to walk around and check the place out.  He was walking the dog(Chrissie) letting her go potty.  I was walking around by the cemetery just taking pictures...of course the ghost hunter coming out in me....even here.  Well, I saw the cutest little grave with a bear on the top.

The name on this cute little bear is Glenda Lee Ogden.



Well, I like I always do when I'm in a cemetery, I start talking out loud saying "Hi Glenda.  My name is Becky and guess what?  We have the same middle name.  Isn't that cool?". I know...I know....she is probably thinking "COOL?  What the heck does that mean????"  Ok....let me get back to the good stuff ................I could hardly believe it on the car ride home I was looking at the pictures and listening to the recorder I had also turned on .  You can hear a sweet little female voice say, "I can see you".  Now, I don't know if she was talking to me or maybe she was referring to my dad because he has the dog maybe she liked it.  I don't know, but this was a GREAT little surprise from whom I can only assume is GLENDA. :)

I wish I could tell you more about this wonderful little place, but for sure......if you're ever feeling tired and need a place to pull over and rest........THIS IS IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WIN ANN: THE HAUNTED DOLL OF A WAVERLY HILLS SANATORIUM TUBERCULOSIS 13-YEAR OLD GIRL

Meet Ann.

According to paranormal investigators, Ann was a 13-year-old girl treated for tuberculosis at Waverly Hills Sanatorium in the early 1900s, during a time when the idea of a “rest-cure” was in actuality a certain death sentence. One of Ann’s caretakers was a former aide named Lois, who worked at the institution from 1919 to 1935. She was responsible for the children’s welfare, and unsurprisingly, became very attached to her young patients.
Likewise, the patients relied on Lois … so much so that when they succumbed to their illnesses, their spirits followed the woman home, hoping she could continue caring for them. A friend recommended that Lois obtain vessels to house these unfortunate souls.
Thus, Lois’s doll collection was born.
Although Lois has since passed away, she left detailed journals about her dolls, including Ann. Lois claims Ann was terrified of the dark, and that her spirit, who lives on this doll, cries out for help in the middle of the night with a shaky voice. Lois also reported to her daughter that the Ann doll once cried—a single tear ran down her cheek. Her right arm once moved up and down, as if she was waving.
Investigators have reported a severe drop in temperature while in Ann’s presence, and she emits a strange odor—a damp basement smell.
So Ann will be living in our office under constant surveillance for two weeks. In addition to live streaming her 24/7, we will conduct our own tests, bring in experts, and log our observations. We unboxed Ann, who was wrapped tightly in bubble wrap, without incident. (Watch the video.)
Over the next couple days, we worked around Ann, setting up the camera feed in a large storage closet, where she’s currently living. During that time, a few strange things happened.
• Two coworkers, whose desks are against the wall that separates the main office space from Ann’s room, heard a faint whining noise. One person even asked the whole room to be silent because she was positive she heard a child crying. No one else heard this noise.
• Two different coworkers set up an EMF sensor near Ann while they were working in her vicinity. The meter was silent the whole time. Then one of them asked her a direct question: “Hello, Ann. Welcome to our office. Do you like your new home?” Twenty seconds later, the detector’s light started flashing and wouldn’t stop. We haven’t seen it light up since.
• The day after the live feed was finally established, a coworker arrived at the office and noticed the feed had stopped at 8:27 p.m. the previous night. He went into Ann’s room and saw the magnetic power cord that attached to the laptop had been physically disconnected. No one was in the office at that time.

April 27, 2016 – 2:22 p.m. [All time stamps EST]

We just held our first official EMF meter session with Ann (this is the meter we used). We asked her two direct questions, but the meter did not go off. We left it near her in the camera frame. If you see it light up, email us or leave a comment below.

April 27, 2016 – 4:01 p.m.

“There are just so many weird things going on with this video.” That’s a quote from the coworker who uploaded our EMF session to YouTube. He pointed out that the video is in color but said the last two frames went gray with lines through the middle of the screen. When he tried to save the video, it froze and wouldn’t export. He rescrubbed the feed; the gray screen disappeared. The problems continued when he tried to add the video to our YouTube channel – the upload kept stalling and restarting. April 27, 2016 – 6:52 p.m.

Viewer Tina Miller writes in to report that she saw the screen flash, depicting a momentary closeup of Ann’s face.

April 28, 2016 – 4:13 a.m.

Viewer Julie Smith writes in to report that she saw Ann move in a big way. According to Smith, the doll moved “right to the camera for a split second.”

April 28, 2016 – 7:03 p.m.

Viewer Jason Hrisanthacopoulos reported seeing flashes of Ann on the left then the right of the screen between 7:03–7:05 p.m. He rewound the footage but couldn’t find those frames again. (Our team tried as well and failed to see them.)

April 28, 2016 – 11:05 p.m.

Viewer Megan Brooks and a friend reported watching the feed between 11:05 p.m.–11:25 p.m., and both saw Ann close her eyes a few different times. They think she tilted her head to the left for a split second.

April 29, 2016 – 12:00 a.m.

We received the first of a series of emails from five different viewers about Ann moving and the EMF meter blinking between 12 a.m.–1:16 a.m. Here are the specifics:
• 12:00 a.m. – From “Silent Yehl”: Ann’s arm twitched and background lights appeared.
• 12:28 a.m. – From Maggie Leal: EMF reader moved at the same time the feed went blurry, then Ann’s head moved. This happened three times in 10 minutes.
• 12:49 a.m. – From Kimberly Bonnell: The EMF light might have turned on.
• 1:12 a.m. – From Edgar Rodriguez: Movements in the background on the right. Over the next two minutes, it looked like the feed went blurry, and a face appeared behind Ann.
• 1:16 a.m. – Anonymous reader: Spotted a “ghost blip.”

April 29, 2016 – 3:00 a.m.

We continue to receive reports about Ann’s face flashing across the screen. Viewer John Thatcher (who was watching in CST) reported seeing close ups of Ann’s face on screen between 3:30 a.m.–4:30 a.m. He saw it happen several times while rewinding through the footage, but he could never replicate the incident at the exact same time stamp. He wrote that it was “as if the tape itself was changing.”
Viewer Logan Peacock already reported seeing a close-up of Ann’s face at 6:28 a.m., but he, also, could not replicate the occurrence.

April 29, 2016 – 2:41 p.m.

We just held an EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) session with Ann. This is the digital recorder we used. Before we started the session, we saw the entire screen flicker on the laptop that is streaming Ann. Other than that, the session was uneventful. We are currently listening to the recording and will post the filmed session to YouTube as soon as possible. UPDATE: Watch the video here.

April 29, 2016 – 4:52 p.m.

We finished analyzing the digital recording, and it didn’t reveal any answers from Ann. Our coworker who worked on the audio has suggested doing another reading with different equipment to cancel out ambient noise. We will try to communicate with Ann again next week.

April 29, 2016 – 6:03 p.m.

Viewer Riley has been watching the clock on our live stream, which he said matches up exactly with his computer clock. At 6:03 p.m., he saw the clock on the live feed read 6:06 p.m. He scrolled back through the feed to see if the clock had skipped ahead, but when he returned to the current time, the clock had readjusted itself to match with his computer clock once again.

April 30, 2016 – 1:10 a.m.

Viewer Timera Cyr spotted “a brief flash of her in the dark area to her right. Almost like a super impose image.”

April 30, 2016 – 1:32 a.m.

Over the course of the last several days, we’ve received many emails about the screen going blurry and refocusing for no apparent reason. We’ve discussed this and think the camera would naturally refocus when there’s a change of light or movement on camera. Viewer Maggie Leal was able to take a screen shot of this occurrence at 1:26 a.m. when no one was in the office. We still don’t know why this is happening.
We also saw in this photo that the battery in the EMF sensor died. When we left the office on Friday evening at 6 p.m., the green light above the orange button in the middle of the sensor was on. (See our screenshot above.) The sensor was powered by one, brand new Duracell 9-volt Duralock battery (like this) and ran for a maximum of 59 hours before dying.

April 30, 2016 – 11:16 a.m.

We received an email from viewer Tessa Ryal who thought she saw Ann move her arm.

April 30, 2016 – 9:08 p.m.

An anonymous viewer was watching Ann between 8:50–9:07 p.m. and thought Ann’s face moved. They thought it could be a trick of light, so they zoomed in on her face and saw her lips moving and her facial expression changed.

May 1, 2016 – 7:37 a.m.

Throughout the day (Sunday), we received many emails about the light in Ann’s room turning pink or red. She’s in the back of a storage room with only one light source on her. There is a carbon monoxide detector on the ceiling to her left with a small red light that is constantly on. There is a fire alarm strobe at the opposite end of the room; a white light flashes when activated. The battery in the EMF sensor at her feet died at some point on Friday night, so it would not have flashed.
Here are the reports we received:
• 7:37 a.m. – From Cassandra Laur:  She watched for 20 minutes before emailing us that the light was continually changing. She said the screen would get darker then flash a few times before returning to normal. This happened several times.
• 8:31 a.m. – From Harley Bison: Between 7:49–7:50 a.m., the viewer saw the light grow darker then return to normal about 4 or 5 times. It happened again about 10 minutes later.
• 9:28 a.m. – From Leah Taylor: Between 9:28–11 a.m., the viewer saw lights flash and the screen turned blurry and refocused continuously. At 10:14 a.m., the entire screen flickered on and off.
• 9:49 a.m. – From Lacey: Starting at 9:37 a.m, she noticed “a light that’s facing Ann, flashing on and off in a very inconsistent pattern.” She thought it stopped around 9:43 p.m. and was about to close the live stream when it started again, although not as frequently as the first time.
• 9:56 a.m. – From Tori Spalding: She reported the screen turned blurry, then lit up a few times and went back to normal.
• 10:29 a.m. – From Logan Peacock: Starting at 10:21 a.m., the light changed back and forth from bright to dark. (See his screenshots below.)
• 12:04 p.m. – From Victoria McKenzie: She watched for 10 minutes and saw a red or pink light flashing on Ann. The flashes varied in length and frequency.
• 1:07 p.m. – From Noel Kepler: Between 12:51–12:55 p.m., the viewer saw an orange light flashing on Ann in a random pattern. At 1:02 p.m., the screen went blurry and the lights flashed again.
• 1:58 p.m. – From Angela Thompson: For several minutes, Angela noticed the light flash from pink to the normal, cooler tone.
• 4:18 p.m. – From Elli Kirby: Between 2:56–3:00 p.m., Elli saw a continuous flash of red and green lights. She looked away for a minute, and when she turned back to the screen, she thought Ann’s head was repositioned.
• 4:32 p.m. – From Anonymous Viewer “Pinky”: At 4:28 p.m. the color of the light switched from white to pink three times within two minutes. It continued to flash for several minutes, while Pinky took screenshots. Pinky also spotted a close up of Ann’s face for a split second between taking the video stills.
• 4:51 p.m. – From Katie Presley: Between 4:46–4:51 p.m., the viewer saw “lots of activity in the lighting. Almost looks like a television flashing.”
• 5:50 p.m. – From Abby Miller: The viewer reported a flashing light making the room brighter.

May 2, 2016 – 2:32 a.m.

We received the last email about the pink or red lights in Ann’s room. Viewer Elisa Rodriguez reported seeing a flash of pinkish light, then the screen blurred. She thought she saw the eyes slowly moving as well.

May 2, 2016 – 12:12 p.m.

We replaced the battery in the EMF sensor. In The Everything Ghost Hunting Book, author Melissa Martin Ellis references Grant Wilson, co-founder of The Atlantic Paranormal Society, stating that during paranormal investigations, spirits are known to drain batteries. Usually the batteries that lose power the quickest are nickel-cadmium rechargeable batteries (our battery is an alkaline).
After significant research about The Ghost Meter (our EMF sensor), we have not been able to verify how long our battery should last. If anyone reading this log knows, please email us.
Now that we have a new battery in the EMF sensor, there should always be a green light in the middle of the device (see screenshot below). If this green light goes off, please let us know.

May 3, 2016 – 9:08 a.m.

Our live stream went down last night at 10:50 p.m. We’re working to determine why this happened and get it up again as soon as possible.

May 3, 2016 – 9:29 a.m.

The live stream is back up! Our clock now appears to be a minute a half ahead; we will fix it later today. Please still refer to the time stamp on the clock with your observations until that time.

May 3, 2016 – 10:32 a.m.

We changed the clock to sync up with our computer. It should now be correct, but if you see the time accelerate or slow down, please email us.

May 3, 2016 – 12:19 p.m.

At 9:33 a.m., two people commented below this article about a shadow and blue light that appeared on the live feed. See screenshot below from viewer Edson Otero.

At that exact time, our co-worker, who set up the live stream, was working on the laptop in Ann’s room. He told us he was extremely careful not to move the camera, and he did not put anything in front of the camera while in there. We took a picture of the computer set up in Ann’s room, so viewers can see where he would have been standing at that time.
The co-worker – a technical professional and self-professed skeptic – cannot explain this anomaly with the light.
