White Otter Castle

The legend of the White Otter Castle begins with Jimmy McOuat of Sunset Country, Ontario. The three story log cabin was single-handedly built over many years by the eccentric McOuat, and is located on the shores of White Otter Lake in such a remote location that is can only be accessed by snow mobile, plane or boat.
McOuat intended the home to be a dowry for his future bride that he was yet to meet in person, but he tragically died in the fall of 1918 while fishing. His body, tangled in fishing nets, was not discovered until the following spring. His grave is next to the log castle and his ghost is said to still wander the property.

 

The Corbin Cabin

This small log home was constructed in the early 1900s by George T. Corbin in the Nicholson Hollow area of what is now Shenandoah National Park. His wife, Nee Corbin, died in the cabin giving birth to their third child in 1924. It was a winter day when George had to bury his wife in the family cemetery near the cabin, then walk four miles to the nearest store to buy milk for his newborn baby.
Today, the Corbin Cabin is one of a handful of structures that the PATC rents to hikers within the park. It’s the only PATC cabin that’s on the National Register of Historic Places, and as far as we can tell, it’s the only PATC cabin that’s haunted by a ghost. Hikers say the ghost of Nee Corbin still resides in the sparse cabin, walking on the hard plank floors and wandering the woods near her old home.

Log Cabin Village - The Foster Cabin
The Foster Cabin in Log Cabin Village is located in Forth Worth, Texas, and is one of 6 log houses built in the 1800s. Log Cabin Village offers a glimpse of the past, and claims to host a ghost in one of the houses. According to stories, the Foster Cabin was home to Harry Foster and his family in the 1800s.
After the death of his wife, Foster married the nanny, Jane Holt. Holt was rumored to have worn lilac perfume. Sometimes when visitors tour the house, footsteps are heard from the attic above the second floor. Visitors have also reported the scent of lilacs in the air.

Lucy at Roaring Fork

“Lucy” is the spirit of a young woman known to haunt the Roaring Fork Trail looking for a ride. Roaring Fork is a 5.5-mile-long, one-way loop in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park scattered with original homes and farms of early settlers. In 1910, a young man named Foster came upon Lucy in the mountains and offered her a ride on his horse.
He found her to be unusually “warm” that cold night, and he quickly fell in love with her. He went looking for her again the next day, but learned from her parents that Lucy had died in a cabin fire one year earlier. Today, visitors traveling up Roaring Fork have reported seeing a pretty, young woman standing on the side of the road without shoes, still looking for a ride.

The Bell Witch Cabin

The Bell Witch incident is one of the most well-known hauntings in the United States. It’s frequently stated that it’s the only known incident of a ghost legally being responsible for the death of a person, the patriarch of the Bell family, John Bell Sr. It was in 1817 that Bell was walking through a field on his plantation and spotted a bizarre looking critter sitting, staring down a corn row.
Bell said it had the head of a rabbit and the body of a dog, and he took several pot shots at it with his rifle. It escaped unharmed and he went on home, unfazed and not thinking any more about it. Till later that night, after dinner as the family sat around the fire-lit cabin, they began hearing banging on the walls from the outside. As the nights went on, the pounding grew more vicious and the family grew scared.

Back in 1908, it was called the Alabama Girls Industrial school and Condie Cunnigham was one of the student who lived on the 4th floor of The Main Resisdent Hall.

Late one night Condie and her friends were using a burner to make hot chocolate in her room.
This was against the rules, but Condie and her friends were doing it anyways.They were all sitting on Condie's bed in their nightgown.When someone accidentally knocked the burner.

The bed caught fire and so did Condie Cunnighams nightgown.She began to panic and ran down the hallways and started screaming "HELP!,HELP!" Now as many people know running is the worst thing you can ever do when you're on fire you were supposed to drop to the ground and roll but unfortunately Condie didn't know that.

She ran up and down the hallways screaming for help this only fanned the flames.
The flames grew larger and larger, completely consuming her body. her friend could only watch her in horror as condie finally collapsed and was burn't to crisp.

Ever since her death condie cunningham's ghost has been haunting the 4th floor.Student have reported that they hear horrifying scream and a crying voice "HELP ME!,HELP ME!"

Late one night a girl who stayed in Condie's old room heared a noise outside her door, when she opened the door she was shocked to see a paranormal figure in flames running down the hallways.Its body flamed and crisped to flames.When the girl came back she saw her bed on fire.The next morning the girl left the university and never returned.

Of all the paranormal event the strangest event of the girl on fire was Condie's door, Right after Condie's death her friend said they saw a image of Condie's burning face appear on the door.The school Administer had the door replaced But Condie's face appeared on the new wood.The Administer changed the door numerous of time but her face came back.

The girls were so freaked out by this, that eventually The Administer removed the door and put it in the storage. 

 The girls refuse to stay in her room even today!!!

5 HAUNTED FIRE STATIONS THAT MAY GET MORE VOLUNTEERS THAN THEY ASKED FOR!

Hi everyone.  Hope you had a great Easter!  You know, we are always ghost hunting, in haunted houses and cemeteries.  But what about fire stations?  Well, guess ghosts don't always stay in haunted houses and cemeteries, right?  Of course, we all knew this. LOL

1: El Paso, TX Station #9

Around the Texas boarder city of El Paso, Station #9 is commonly referred to as “The Haunted Fire Station.”  According to the city website, “On February 13, 1934 the old American Furniture Co. warehouse that was located across the street from the fire station nearly burned to the ground. Captain Woodward Bloxom, along with two other firefighters, was caught in a flashover.
He was pulled from the fire and rushed to the hospital but unfortunately he passed away the next day. Since then, firefighters who have worked at station 9 speak of strange things that happen in the station. One of the oddest is that usually right before a big fire in the area occurs, the firefighters are signaled that it is coming. Usually the bay door rolls up on its own or the lights will come on just before the alarm comes in from the dispatch center.”

2: Lexington, KY Station #4

In Lexington, Kentucky there is a station that rides with a picture of a skeleton’s head in a fire helmet on the side of their truck believing one of their crew from 1945 still rides with them.
According to a story on the local news channel Lex18, a firefighter named Henry McDonald passed away in his sleep on Christmas Day 1945. Ever since, firefighters say objects are knocked off of shelves, they hear the disembodied sound of boots walking up the cast iron staircase, the engine turns on by itself, and chiefs have even gotten angry calls from locals claiming there was a firefighter standing in the upstairs window who wouldn’t come to the station door when they were knocking while the crew was out.
Apparently the ghost of the fireman even got a promotion as he is now referred to as, “The Captain.”

3: Frankfort, IL Station #3

            A station in Frankfort has gained so much notoriety for being haunted it even landed a spot on A&E’s television show, Paranormal Cops.  For years firefighters have claimed to see a shadowy blue figure walking the hallways of the station and engine bay. While A&E was filming they even captured audio of a voice singing and some of the crew even became sick during their investigation. (Maybe just bad beans cooked by the rookie.)
They believe the ghost is Erwin Yunker, a man who died of a heart attack and owned a farm implement business on the same site of the fire station.

4: Long Beach, CA Station #12

Dubbed the “Ghost House,” Station #12 is supposedly haunted by John Makemson, a retired Long Beach firefighter who spent most of his career at Station #12.  According to the book, “Haunted Long Beach 2” the manifestations of Makemson have ranged from simple pranks to horrifying experience.  One member of the crew told the story that he could not find his jacked for days only to find it neatly folded and covered in dust on the bench in front of the shower he was in. Other stories have been a bit more menacing like the engine rocking back and forth with the doors opening and closing in the middle of the night. Some firefighters even claimed to have woken up to the sound of screaming and were unable to move as if a weight was pushing them down.
Regardless of the Ghost House being haunted or not, Long Beach completed construction on new Station #12 and the crew moved in earlier this year.

5: Milwaukee, WI Engine House 35

            While you may have thought the first 4 have been creepy, Milwaukee’s Engine House 35 is built on the grounds of a run down mausoleum. According to the Journal Sentinel, “the mausoleum, built in 1912, fell into severe disrepair, and the city was forced to take ownership in 1994.” Over the next three years, nearly 1000 graves had to be exhumed and relocated to another cemetery. With 1000 recently emptied graves surrounding the station, Engine House 35 is not lacking in ghostly encounters.
Phantom footsteps, cold breezes and faucets turning themselves on in the middle of the night are common occurrences.  As reported in the Journal Sentinel, Firefighter Elsa Gomez heard a loud crashing sound from the kitchen. Upon inspection she found two large pans and a popcorn pot on the floor across the room from where they had been situated on the stove. However, Firefighter Mike Lopez has the reigning ghost story when it comes to EH 35 as he sleeps alone in the basement because he snores. One night, as he lay awake, he suddenly felt someone pressing down on him.  Being unable to easily move, he pushed back with all of his strength, his blanket flew off and he was able to get up. The next day he had bruises where he had been pushed down.
