TOP GHOST HUNTING APPS FOR 2018 -THE ONES THAT WORK AND THE ONES THAT DON'T

Grab your phone and let's go Ghost Hunting!!!!! "There's an app for that" right?  In today's world of  "convenience and mobile technology, it's no wonder there is a flood of "ghost apps" on the market to make your ghost hunting experience easy breezy.  Anywhere from 99 cents and above you can have a piece of ghost hunting with you at all times.  Oh, and even better news, many are FREE!!!!!!!!!

Do I think that ghost hunting apps really work?  Well, for now I guess let's just say "anything is possible".  If a spirit can throw a glass across the room and communicate through a radio and other electronic devices then why couldn't they use our phones as a form of communication???  It's an electronic device right?  We are still very much in the "development stages" of seeing what we can actually use to communicate with spirits  and what we can't.  Apps are one of the things that people seem to be exploring.

Now, are you looking for something just to have a little fun with and scare your friends or are you wanting an app that might actually come in handy while ghost hunting?  There are tons of apps strictly for entertainment purposes only (although almost all the apps say that).  Some apps you can scare the crap out of your friends and then there are the apps that might actually work.  I am constantly playing with apps and testing to see which ones work and which ones don't.

So, here are some of the apps that I have experimented with and found them to be useful and sometimes.....just DOWN RIGHT SCARY!!!!!!!! Then there are the ones I wished I hadn't spent my 99 cents on.  Download them for yourself and see what you think.


GHOST HUNTER M2


This is probably my favorite app.  Although The Portal made for an Android phone (I have an iPhone, darn it) definitely gives the M2 a run for its money.  First, you should SO give this app a try.  I will say that you have to "overlook" the cheesy, scary music that plays when you first turn on the app.  It's a little much, but the app itself might be of some use.  I have found the M2 to be "spot on" in some locations when investigating and doing an EVP session as far as words coming up related to our questions.  It is very easy to use and has many different screens for you to watch as well as keeping a log of your EVP's so you can go back later for review.  Love this feature.  The VERY FIRST TIME I turned on the M2, it said "Rebecca" which is my real name.  Becky is short for Rebecca.  Are you kidding me!!!!!!!!!!  Totally FREAKED ME OUT!!!!

Now, this app has a ton of options to use.  To be honest, way more than I need.  For me, the simpler the better.  I don't have time to read and analyze all different kinds of data.  So, let me make it easy for you.  These options are the ones I use.  The very first button or option on the screen is the Dashboard.  I think this feature would be best for a beginner or if you just want to do a quick EVP session because it has everything you need on one screen.  It has a sweep that lights up on a radar to indicate when and where a spirit is present.  Then it has a EVP window that shows words as well as audio.  Then on the same screen it has EMF, Audio, Geo and Bar to use as well.

The Ghost Hunter M2 was developed by professional engineers, and is said to be the most advanced paranormal toolkit in all known and unknown universes.  Ghost Hunter M2 features an EMF instrument measuring magnetic fluctuations with the magnetometer of your Apple device, an Audio Detection Instrument and a Fast Fourier Transform Visualizer analyzing complex audio signals (meaning other-worldly shrieks sending shivers down your spine), a Geoscope magnifying terrainial  and sub-terrainial fluctuations so that you can spot zombies(openly admitting I don't know a thing about zombies) trying to sneak attack you by bursting out of their grave, a Spatial Displacement Instrument analyzing the data flowing in from the assortment of app's electro-mechanical sensors, a Twilight Instrument turning your Apple device's camera into an all-seeing eye, an EVP(Electronic Voice Phenomena) Instrument delivering bone-chilling spirit voices in both audio and visual format, a Luxscope capable of measuring the most minute change in the environment's illuminance, and a Barometer.  It very much seems like they have kicked things off at the top of the heap, because Ghost Hunter M2 is undisputed a plus ultra paranormal investigation toolkits, all the while costing only $.99.

THE PORTAL


Ok.  I LOVE THIS APP!!!!  I am so disappointed that this app is not available on the iPhone.  You can get it if you have an Android phone.  I have been on investigations that this app was used, and I have to tell you, I was so impressed!!!  We went to The Myrtles Plantation last summer and the voices coming through even had  a "Southern Accent" that from the Old South and at all the other locations we were at the EVP's coming through did not have this accent.  But this is an old Plantation and so it was really cool to hear these kind of EVPS.  I really, really like this app!!!

Steve Huff of Huff Paranormal was looking to experiment with vocal tones from various age and gender people.  This Portal app will sweep randomly between single file bank at a random sweep rate between 100ms & 2000ms that changes every 2 seconds to keep every session unique.  Bank content, young male and female, Middle age male and female, Elderly male and female and whispers to see if they can choose a voice one to give us intelligent responses to questions asked.  During your session look for intelligent replies to question asked and always keep the audio reversed for better validation manipulation.

GHOST RADAR: LEGACY


This is also a really good little app.  There is one thing that is really annoying about this app and that's all the advertisements that pop up while you are doing your EVP session.  There's a lot!!!  This app is also very easy to use and it also stores your EVP's which is always is a plus.  It has a good clear "voice" that announces the words.  And of course, a radar with colored "dots" to show where and how strong the energy is that it is detecting.

Ghost Radar Legacy is a spruced up, refined version of Ghost Radar Classic, a straightforward paranormal app with a simple, functional design.  Ghost Radar Legacy does what its predecessor did:  it detects paranormal activity by gathering and analyzing a wide range of data-though it performs its manifold functions at a much higher level, with greater efficiency and precision, and with more style thanks to the fully revamped interface.  Ghost are capable of translating energy into graphics, words, numeric values and radar indicators, ensuring that no nearby spirit will slip away unseen.  Based on the reviews they read on the AppStore, being daring and curious might uncover bone-chilling results-but those secrets are the exact source of the ecstatic terror each and every paranormal investigator is yearning for.  Or maybe most of those reviews are nothing more than clever marketing tricks, and who knows, when it comes to ghosts, the answer is never clear.

DEMON DETECTOR


If you look at the reviews for this people seem to like the Demon Detector.  Sorry, I am just not one of them.  I was NOT impressed at all.  I tried it several times and not much happened.  But you know...sorry, I just don't think it is the "real deal" and to be honest it doesn't come close.  But you decide for yourself.

Demon Detector differentiates itself from the rest of the field mostly with its name.  When you hear demon, you associate it with something much more malevolent and beastly than your average run-of-the-mill ghost.  Demon Detector makes use of the sensors built into your Apple device, translating signs of paranormal activity into easy-to-read text, while also displaying electromagnetic anomalies.


GHOST RADIO

This app is probably the app that has scared me the most!!!  It has either a creepy lady's voice or a creepy man's voice that comes across and speaks the generated words very slowly.  I caution you with this one....it seems that when I have used it, it "attracts" the more evil or demonic and bad spirits.  At one point a friend and I were using it and it got so crazy scary and was "spot on" about what was going on at the time we were using it, we had to turn it off!!!!  I have taken this app off my phone and put it back on...then taken it off again and put it back on....because I just can't resist.  It definitely  has my curiosity peaked.  The words are generated through like "white noise" and the words are pronounced in "phonic style".  Like....MUR...….DER.....!  The times I have used it, the words coming through SEEM to relate to whatever situation I am talking about.  But for some reason, it just seems to be on the "darker side" of things.  So give this one a try but PROCEED WITH CAUTION!!!!

Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP) is the collective name for the sounds and sometimes detected on electronic recordings and reminiscent of human speech.  These sounds are usually found in recordings with  noise or poor radio reception, and is considered by many to be the voices of paranormal beings such as ghost, spirits, demons and other energy based entities. EVP is a form of Instrumental Trans-Communication (ITC), a term coined by professor Ernst Senkowski in the 1970s.

This app has taken the tradition ghost box to the next level, and also incorporates and EMF(Electromagnetic Field) scanner.  As with traditional ghost boxes, chaotic noise seems to be both inviting and sensitive to paranormal manipulation.  The app generates audible speech by detecting meaningful phrases and words together with properties such as gender, age and current mood of the communicating entity.  We continuously improve the app, based on user feedback, and use it during our own paranormal investigations as well.

CONTACT PARANORMAL

This little app is really fun.  It comes up and "writes" creepy words.  The only problem here is that there is no beep or anything audio sound that notifies you that a word is about to be written and it only stays up a couple of seconds.  My suggestion....screenshot the words as soon as they appear.  That's what I do anyway.  Then you can review them later.  Do I think it really is a "spirit" writing you a message?  No.  But hey...it provides some creepy entertainment. 

This app uses sensors and analytical information to create an interactive paranormal experience.  A small radio screen detects spirits and at the bottom words are generated and spelled out.








GHOST DETECT PRO

This is another fun one.  It has a funny little beep when a spirit is detected and a clear voice when it captures EVP's.  Here's the "fun"part of this app.  At random times a voice will come on and say "Ghost Detected.  Preparing photo".  You have to allow it to access your camera on your phone so that it can take a picture and then save it to your photos. It snaps a picture and the pictures will have crazy little things in it.  Again, do I think it is a ghost?  No.  But it sure makes it fun!!!

All the sensors are on one page.  The radar that actually tracks anomalies an accurate EMF detector.  Super sensitive microphone and records audio for an EVP Session.  EVP's that will speak to you in 5 different voices.  Detects vibrations and movement and alerts for every sensor.  Draws all this to a very accurate graph and Quantum Flux detector.  Takes photos and detects anomalies.

So, lets talk about the apps like The Ghost Detector that show you following a ghost through a location and then you take a photo of it.  Look, these are all fake!  It is VERY EASY TO DEBUNK!!!!  All you have to do is put your hand in front of your camera lens on your phone or iPad and where it is showing a ghost.  IF you are really SEEING a spirit your hand would BLOCK out the spirit, right?  But if you put your hand in front of the lens and the "ghostly image" is STILL THERE....then....there ya go..........DEBUNKED!!!

Bottom line ya'll, there's apps for everything these days but when you are TRULY interested in researching the paranormal, you may have to invest a little time and money to get TRUE results.  But in the meantime, have fun....be careful and experiment with the different apps because you NEVER KNOW when a real ghost might just show up. :)

YOU DON'T NEED FANTASY LIGHTS AND EXPENSIVE GADGETS TO FIND GHOSTS!!! TRY THESE FIRST

I don't know about you....but for me......sometimes all the FANCY LIGHTS  and all the ON AND OFF SWITCHES make ghost hunting a nightmare!!!(How did you like that play on words.HAHA)  If you can figure out all the buttons they are awesome to have but sometimes you just want something simple. Turn it on and leave it...Right?  Well, guess what??? I am going to tell you about two tools you can use that DO NOT have switches on them and the BEST PART.....NO BATTERIES!!!   YEP!!! You read that right!!!! And are they reliable?  They have been used for centuries and today are still considered to be very accurate and a MUST in most ghost hunters equipment bags.

What are they you ask??? Welllllll.................. A pair of Dowsing Rods and a Pendulum.  I work as a HR Manager in my day job for a utility company and our guys use a set of Dowsing Rods to locate water.  No.....silly they are not looking for ghosts!  Dowsing Rods have been used for YEARS to locate water sources.  Even with all the modern day equipment the BEST way to find water for us is to use dowsing rods.  They are natural and accurate in locating water.  No one really knows HOW they work....just that they do!!!!  The same may be true for ghost, although they are primarily used for communication.  Instead of pointing to where a ghost may be, dowsing rods are used to get simple "yes" or "no" answers from a spirit.  Dowsing rods are "L" shaped and usually made of copper.  The idea is to hold the rods loosely in your hand allowing them to move freely.  Holding the shorter end with your fingers wrapped around start asking your questions and using directives like cross for "yes" or uncross for "no".  Now, dowsing rods have even been used in police investigations to locate bodies or even a weapon of some sort.  You can ask them to "point in the direction" to find a location or even a BODY!!!!!!!!!

The same is true for pendulums.  I know people that never go ANYWHERE without their pendulum.  I being one of those people  SSSHHHH don't tell anyone.......but I carry one in my purse.  Spirits can use anything to talk with us and there just might be something scientific about the movement they cause in the pendulum.  Most are made from some rock or crystal that may have a special conductivity, which spirits can manipulate.  The pendulums or stones are placed on the end of a small chain.  Try concentrating on a need to talk or clearing of the mind.  Begin by asking questions and telling the spirit to show you what the "yes" and "no" responses will look like.  Maybe for "yes" it will go in a circle and for "no" it will glide back and forth more in a straight line. 

I myself LOVE BOTH OF THESE TOOLS and have had GREAT success with them.  It may take you a little while to get the feel of it....but just concentrate and relax and your answers will come. 

Now, here's the best part!  You can get a small set of dowsing rods for around $10 and more decorative ones up to $50.  And pendulums, you can get this little jewel starting at under $5!!!!  You can pick these up just about anywhere but Amazon and Ebay along with your ghost hunter stores make owning these simple but VERY USEFUL tools a breeze!

Also, here is an old video of my daughter for the first time using dowsing rods.  What makes this video so impressive(besides you had to be there) was the wind was blowing sooooo HARD.....and the rods were turning INTO  the direction of the wind to answer questions for us!!!  I just don't know how they did it!!!!  You will also notice my daughter's face of disbelief as they begin to move.  This was her FIRST TIME and she didn't believe me that we could use them to communicate with spirits.  GUESS I SHOWED HER!!!!!!!!  haha

GHOST HUNTING-IT ISN'T ALL GREEN SLIME AND FLUFFY MARSHMALLOW GUYS!

This week the remake of Ghostbusters the movie is released.  Will I be going and seeing the movie?  REALLY??? Did you even have to ask????  I just thought with the release of the movie and with there being ALREADY so many shows on about the paranormal that maybe I should just throw out there some REAL facts about REAL ghost hunters.

The movie of course, is fiction with green, slimy ghost with big teeth and marshmallow guys with little blue hats.  I only wish that real ghost hunting was that simple.

I want to warn anyone that thinks after seeing the movie or watching the shows on TV that it is EASY to be a ghost hunter and ANYONE can do it.  NOT TRUE.  Sure....ANYONE can go out and take pictures and get a recorder to see if they caught an unknown voices or anything unusual in their pictures..... but take it from someone that has been ghost hunting for almost 35 years....it isn't a game and you are exposing yourself and those around you to REAL DANGER.  Now, I don't know about you but when I have surgery...I want someone that has years of experience and a PHD hanging on the wall....not someone that just started and wanted to do surgery because they thought it was fun to cut-open a frog and see what's inside.  Get the point???

Can ghosts hurt you? YES  Can ghosts follow you home? YES  Can ghosts KILL you?  YES
Now in knowing this, proceed with caution if this is the route you select.  I have been grabbed, touched, followed home and even threatened over the past years in ghost hunting.  I know some of you will say that "you don't believe me" and to you I say...."DON'T".  I am not here to make you believe or not to believe in ghosts.  The choice and your believes are yours...not mine.....and until you experience something from the paranormal world.....no matter what I say or show you can change your mind....and that's ok.  I just want you to know....that there is a real risk in trying to contact "the other side".

Here are just a few things you should know first.  You MUST know how to protect yourself and others.  You MUST know what you are up against.  You MUST have a strong faith.  You MUST also have a mindset of what it real and what is not.  Be willing to say that "shadow" was a cat and that "strange sound" was the wind.  IF you are not HONEST about your findings....what's the point??????  Take a break from it.  Sometimes ghost hunters can become obsessed with it!!!  They feel they are sooo close to capturing that one piece of evidence that will UNDENIABLY give them the proof that they soooo search for....the afterlife does exists!  This can also cause depression to set in from looking at sometimes gruesome pictures, reading about death and constantly reading about heartbreak and loss.  You MUST have reliable equipment.  And lastly...you MUST be able to say ENOUGH when ENOUGH is ENOUGH!!!

Now, is ghost hunting exciting? YES.....Can it be a great reward?  YES  Can it be thrilling?  NO DOUBT!!!  I love being a ghost hunter and I guess when I'm 80-90 (if I live that long)....I will still want someone to take me to an abandon house, a creepy cemetery, any place with paranormal activity.... just push me in my wheelchair out and leave me with a flashlight and a K-2 Meter and I'll be good!!!  I LOVE it that much!!!  Will I ever get the proof I need to prove to others that we can still communicate with our loved ones after they die.....truth be known....I already have that.....but finding better ways to communicate and help people in need will be forever a mission in my life.

HAUNTED OBJECTS-SECOND HAND NIGHTMARES!!!

And it starts out like this.....

You had a wonderful weekend out hitting the second-hand stores.  You rummaged through old dolls, dishes, blankets, pictures, clothes until you found JUST THE ITEM you can't live without!  Your face lights up with joy at the thought of owning it!  You know just where you will put it.  An antique clock! You have been looking for something to go just above the chair in your living room and THIS WAS IT!!!!!

You pay your $10 to the store clerk and off you go.  You get home and dust off the clock and place it in its new home....just above your favorite chair in the living room.  AAAAWWWW life is good!


Over the next couple of days.....you start having STRANGE dreams.  Now, you have never really dreamed a lot before......but for some reason you are having the same dream over and over......and it isn't a GOOD DREAM either!  Your dream consist of a strange man strangling a woman and you wake up every night in a cold sweat!  You get where you can't go back to sleep....... so you get up to go get a drink of water and you walk through your living room and glance up at the clock and you notice the time is 3:46am.  You go to the kitchen, fix yourself a nice, cold glass of water and sit for five minutes trying to forget the dream.  You start back to bed, when you notice as you pass by the living room the clock still shows 3:46am.  Huuummm well maybe the batteries were just old.  "I'll replace them in the morning".  And off to bed you go.

The next morning, you replace the batteries and the clock works perfectly.  Again, you wake up during the night because of the same bad reoccurring dream!  You get up and AGAIN, you notice the clock has stopped on 3:46am???  What the heck???? You just replaced the batteries!  This continues night......after night.....over......and over........again!!!  Why is this happening??? Was there a reason the clock kept stopping on 3:46am and you kept having the same bad dream????  Did the clock "witness" something bad that happened at 3:46am????????

This is a classic case of a spirit or residual energy becoming attached to an object.  Listen folks,  IT DOES HAPPEN!!!

Paranormal researchers often talk about "the attachment theory". The attachment theory is that a spirit can have an attachment to an object, person, place or thing.  Whether to the living or the deceased, these objects matter.  They take on a significance that goes beyond just material possession.  The most inconsequential trinket can become a means to connect with the OTHER SIDE!

Most cases of attachment to an object turn out to be nothing more than a residual haunt; that is, it's just the leftover energy of a person that is attached, so it is unable to interact with the living.  But there ARE PLENTY of instances in which it is an intelligent haunt, and therefore, communication or interaction with the spirit is possible.

Attachment isn't limited to JUST objects, either; it's just as likely for a spirit to attach itself to a person.  This can happen either intentionally or by accident.  That is why many (MYSELF included)paranormal investigators do protection prayers before leaving a location.(Anyone that has been reading my blog for a while KNOWS how I feel about that!)

For all the research that has been done on attachment theory in recent years, it's still unclear how or why it occurs.  The best guess, however, is that most spirit attachment happens because their is some sort of EMOTIONAL attachment, whether is it good or bad, to a particular object.

Below are a couple of the most famous objects that have become haunted.  This gives a WHOLE new meaning to that old expression "one man's trash is another man's treasure!"

Robert the Doll
Once owned by painter Eugene Otto, the doll is allegedly cursed. Otto got the doll as a gift in 1906 from a servant who was supposedly skilled in black magic. Neighbors reported seeing the doll moving from window to window. Otto would scream at night and claim the doll turned over furniture. When he died in 1974, the doll fell into the hands of a 10-year-old girl who also screamed at night and claimed that the doll tried to kill her. Robert is now in the Fort East Martello Museum and Gardens in Key West, Fla., where guests can take a picture with him. A word of warning: you must ask nicely, or Robert will curse you. Was this doll the inspiration for Talky Tina from “The Twilight Zone,” perhaps?

Haunted Wedding Dress
In 1849, a girl from a rich family named Anna Baker fell in love with a low class iron worker. Anna's father, Ellis Baker, refused to let her marry her beloved, banishing the young man from their hometown of Altoona, Pennsylvania and dooming his daughter to a life of spinsterhood. Anna was so angry with her father that she never fell in love or married, and remained bitter and angry until her death in 1914.

Before her father sent her true love away, Anna had chosen a beautiful wedding dress that she intended to wear at their wedding. When the wedding did not occur, another wealthy woman from a local family, Elizabeth Dysart, wore the dress instead, gloating the entire time. Years later, the wedding dress was given to an historical society, and eventually the Baker mansion was turned into a museum. The wedding dress was placed in a glass case in what was formerly Anna Baker's bedroom. After her death, visitors claim to see the dress move on its own, especially during full moons. The dress sways from side to side, as if an unseen bride is standing in front of her mirror, admiring herself in the gown.

Investigators who have searched for drafts and other naturally occurring circumstances have come up empty handed. No one can be sure why the dress sometimes moves by itself, though many speculate that the spurned bride, Anna Baker, has reclaimed her dress at last.
 

IS IT REAL???? GHOSTS, HAUNTED HOUSES, SPIRITS, DEMONS.....

The ONE question that we all want to know is......."Is it real?"  Was the shadowy figure I saw walking through the hall real?  Was the man I saw standing over my bed....Is he real?  Are the footsteps that I hear during the night coming up the stairs....Are they real?  Did I just see a book fly off the bookcase...was that real? Well, if you ask 10 different people you will probably get 10 different answers to those questions.

Is the paranormal things we read and hear about or maybe even experience REAL??? The one thing about the paranormal is that it can NEVER be scientifically proven because to earn that title "scientifically proven" you have to be able to do the same thing over and over at the same time of day in the same clement controlled space and  achieve the same EXACT result every time. And for anyone that DOES believe in spirits and ghosts you know it just can't be done.  You can ask a spirit to show up at midnight on Tuesday night and only if it's raining and but my guess is......if you had your recorder going you would hear an EVP saying "yea.....right Becky haha!" LOL

There are always going to be skeptics when it come to providing evidence that spirits or ghosts really exist. It doesn't matter whether the information is collected physically or by using electronic equipment you will always have people that believe and those who don't.  You just have to let each person make up his or her own mind and conclusion to what is REAL or NOT REAL.  Until more sophisticated ghost tracking equipment is developed, chances are there will always be a question connected to any evidence gathered.  And I will say that we are getting really close to having some really good equipment to help at least VALIDATE that what we "THINK" we are seeing and hearing..... we really ARE seeing and hearing!  The equipment is getting more and more advanced.  BUT again, let me say you DON'T have to spend a lot of money or have "fancy" equipment to give you some answers to what paranormal activity you may be experiencing.

Do I think ghosts and spirits are real??? Well, for over 30 years SOMETHING has kept me interested enough to continue looking for SOME KIND of evidence that spirits and ghosts DO exist!!! So, the short answer for me to that question is .....YES.  I have experienced to much in my life in this field of work that leaves me....... little..... if NO DOUBT at all........ that we can communicate with the OTHER SIDE and they can communicate with us!

Now, I'm NOT saying that EVERYTHING that "goes bump in the night" is paranormal, but that is where you have to use your OWN knowledge.....your own sixth sense.....to determine if what you experienced was paranormal or not, and hey....if your not sure....give me a call and I'll check it out for you. LOL

My goal is NEVER to make someone believe in ghosts......that is for each person to decide for themselves.....but usually when I'm asked "so, do you believe in ghosts?" I respond "what do YOU believe?"  So, up to this point, I guess the ONE thing that we ALL CAN AGREE ON is.....that as long as people claim to have paranormal activity or encounters with ghosts......we will have a need for more paranormal research and for me......I couldn't be happier about that!!!!!!!!!!

I will teach you how to hunt ghosts, what to do when you find a ghost and how to review you evidence for validation.  I will be presenting real evidence that I have collected over the years as proof of the paranormal.   This is going to be a very interactive class.  I plan on giving you the tools and knowledge you need to conduct a SAFE and hopefully, successful ghost hunt.  And at the end of the class, you will have the opportunity to investigate a REAL HAUNTED LOCATION!!!
