About Me

My photo
Behind Every Cloud is a Kindred Spirit (BECKS)I lost my grandfather when I was 17. I had a VERY difficult time getting over it. How could I still communicate with him? I loved him so much I didn't think I could live without him. I read everything I could get my hands on to do with the "afterlife" and that started it all...the love of Ghost Hunting and the Paranormal. I have been researching the paranormal for over 37 years!! It is my way of staying in touch with my grandfather. Being a Ghost Hunter is not always as exciting as it seems on TV. Many nights I have sat in the dark and not a thing happened. BUT it is those times you DO get that one voice, that one explainable picture or have an experience that sends chills down your back that makes it sooo worth it all!!! My purpose of this blog is not to make people believe in ghosts but maybe to open their minds just a little bit... I LOVE this crazy thing called Ghost Hunting. It is as much a part of me as breathing. I am just a girl that refuses to accept we can't still contact our loved ones after they die. My grandfather won't let me.

TOP TEN SCARY MOVIES FOR A HAUNTINGLY FRIGHTFUL MOTHERS DAY

See the source image
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY EVERYONE!!!   I hope everyone that has children or is a Mom to our four legged friends or has to be both Mom and Dad and to those that are not related at all but step up and give love and guidance in the absence of a biological birth Mother enjoy this very special day just for you.

I want to give a quick shout out to MY MOM for allowing me to be me!  And trust me....I don't think that was always easy! lol  But she has always supported my passion for the paranormal and although she may not want to go with me to sit in dark, old houses (although I never understood that)...she has ALWAYS loved me and made me feel like she is very proud of me know matter what I did.....yep....even GHOST HUNTING!!!!!  I love you MOM.  And even though my grandmother has passed she is YELLING IN MY EAR......"WHAT ABOUT ME?????  NOT GOING TO MENTION ME?????" lol  I love you to Nanny and miss you everyday. :)  There are you happy now....

Ok...so not all Moms like flowers and to be taken out to dinner....SOME MOMS....like.....well......lets just say the "unusual". LOL  So guess what???  This is my suggestion for you!!!!

So is your Mom into scary shows, interested in the paranormal or just ....likes creepy stuff?????  I have picked my top 10 Scary movies for you to plan a Mother's Day your Mom won't soon forget.  READY...here ya go....

First, to get Mom "in the Mood" take her out for a drive and end up in a CREEPY cemetery.  Take pictures, EVP's and just enjoy being together....yes....even in a cemetery.

Next, get ready for the FUN STUFF.  The gift.  You can't forget the gift.  So pick out a really scary or ghost book, buy a nice candle, maybe even buy one of the small Meglite flashlights so she can try some flashlight communication sometime at a haunted location and put it in a cute little bag. You can even through in a throw (or a cute little blanket) because with the scary movies planned for the night she is going to need something to "hide her eyes" in.  lol  Plan on spending the night with your Mom because after the scary movies she isn't going to want you to go home!

Now, at some point during the day or that morning make one of those cute little graveyard desserts and have it ready for MOVIE NIGHT.  If you want to get really creative you can get bones, skeletons etc. candies at Michelle's, Hobby Lobby or a place like that and come up with your own creation.  Here are just a couple suggestions and YES even a healthy one for THOSE Moms. lol

Get all comfy and cozy with Mom, turn down the lights or even turn them out...have your dessert ready and a bottle of RED wine...(ok...white is fine to but RED for blood...lol).  Now, put in your movie and get your SPOOKY ON!!!

Enjoy your CREEPY MOTHER'S DAY NIGHT with your Mom and most of all...have FUN...tell your Mom how much you appreciate and love her.  That's what she really wants to the most anyway. :)

WHAT CAN SPIRITS DO AND NOT DO

let's talk about the most important information about what spirits can or cannot do. You might be surprised that some of the scariest things that can happen don't just wait for Halloween.
1. Spirits have the ability to effect you mentally, physically, and emotionally
No one ghost is the same as another. Each spirit has the ability to do various task depending on the level of strength they have accumulated. Though not common, a spirit does have the ability to physically attack you. A ghost might also have the ability the effect you emotionally with things such as unexplained extreme mood swings. An extremely advanced spirit can even manipulate you mentally and challenge the reality that surrounds you.
2. A ghost does have the ability to manipulate objects
Over the course of my paranormal journey I cannot count the number of inanimate objects that I have seen moved or thrown without a natural force or explanation. I recall one time on an investigation, an item was thrown off of a stove by an unseen force directly at another investigator and myself. Spirits have the absolute ability to manipulate inanimate object. Depending on the strength of the spirit, it is possible for doors to be opened or closed, items to be thrown, items to be moved from one place to another, and even the manipulation of electrical lights. There really is not set limitation to what a spirit can physically manipulate.
3. A ghost is a ghost and DEMONS are rare
Due to the widely broadcast shows about the paranormal field, there has been a large amount of "demon" hysteria that has taken root within the minds of those who watch these shows. I want to go on record now as saying yes, things do exist that some would classify as a demon. BUT let's take a minute to evaluate the term "demon". No matter your respective beliefs, the word "demon" was coined as a religious term to describe those inhuman things that battle against good and are theorized to come after our humanly souls. Like many deviations in the English language the term "demon" doesn't simply cover everything evil and sinister in the world. I personally believe an individual who murders or hurts children is evil, but that doesn't make them a demon. When a person dies, whether they are a rapist, murderer, or saint; who they are in the moral guidance of life does not simply transpire to angelic nature because they have now died. To put it simply, someone nasty and sinister in life will be nasty and sinister in death. This doesn't make the ghost a demon, but essentially reflects the person is the same level of bad in death they were in life. With all of this being said, please be aware a true demonic haunting is extremely rare. Most of you reading this have a better chance at winning the lottery then being attacked by a "demon". Demonic haunts are not simply removed or cast away, these entities have no restraint of time and will wait in order to reek terror and disaster through a families entire lineage. There are many "demonologist" that certify themselves as ready to take on any demon, but truthfully if they came across an actual demonic haunt they would run in the opposite direction. What's a good rule of thumb? If what you are experiencing is not beyond and more extreme then what you have seen on TV and on the big screen, then you can bet you are just dealing with some type of ghost.
4. Spirits tend to be more concentrated in places that have experienced a lot of death or birth
There are many scientific theories within the paranormal field as to why places are haunted and why some places are more haunted then others. I could not write a simple small answer to give any of these brilliant minds the justice they deserve for their theories, so I will offer what I will classify as my own personal belief. I personally believe that locations which experience a large amount of death or birth disrupt the natural balance of energy in the world which we all live. Basic elementary science, energy of any kind is neither created or destroyed. Energy is transferred or moved. Locations such as hospitals, battle fields, and sites of horrific deaths emit a lot of energy into the world we live in to go "beyond". This energy being so concentrated in one spot easily explains why places with a high volume of deaths or births have an extremely larger amount of spirit activity.
5. There is no proven reason why ghosts are here or reach out
If you believe everything you see on TV and the big screen, then you will also believe that spirits are here because they have unfinished business or are simply angry to the injustice done to them in the world. I am going to take a small moment to throw a huge monkey wrench in all those claims. Why are spirits still here and making contact with us? Well the answer isn't as black and white as you have been lead to believe. Sure, some ghost might be hanging around with unfinished business or because of some grave injustice. Let's be real though. No one spirit is hanging out at your house ALL the time. Spirits have the ability to come and go as they please. No one spirit is reaching out or still here because of one simplified reason. I personally believe that spirits have the ability to come and go from the various levels of reality as we know it. This would explain why when so many people are dying they tell others they see those loved one's that have passed before them. I fully believe loved one's come and go to help us guide. Be honest with yourself and your beliefs, and you will conclude God is a busy guy. There is no way one God could watch us all, hear us all, and protect us all. I would challenge the idea that spirits of our loved ones who have passed are there to hear us, watch over us, and guide us to the next step after death. My point? Ghosts are everywhere and for all different types of possible reasons, some spirits can come and go as they see fit. At the end of it all though, it is comforting to know we are watched over and reached out too by the one's we have loved that are no longer with us in their physical form.

LET THE "GOOD TIMES ROLL"..........WELL.....IF YOU'RE BRAVE ENOUGH!!!!!

Kings Island Amusement Park
I ran across this picture on Google and it caught my attention!  Two of my favorite things.....amusement parks and cemeteries!  So here's the story behind this super cool photo!!!!

Tons and tons of visitors every year come to the best amusement park in Ohio, Kings Island.  The trills and excitement of the rides.....the dips, the lift from your seat as you ride The Beast, the smell of cotton candy, the tilt-a-whirls slinging you from side to side and all you can think is....."I want to do it again"!!!!  Well, guess what?????  You are NOT the only one that finds the amusement park.....amusing!!!  If you look closely, you may just catch a glimpse of a ghostly young girl skipping through the Kings Island parking lot.

Often described as having blond hair and wearing a blue dress, she is apparently quite playful.  Some witnesses report that the little girl likes to play hide-and-seek among the cars, and park tram drivers claim she frequently darts out in front of the tram in a bizarre game of "chicken".  The girl's identity and her reasons for haunting Kings Island have long been debated, but most agree that her ghost originates from a local attraction you won't find  listed on any park map!

Next to the parking lot exit gates sits a cemetery in full view of all the visitors to the park.  Although, the visitors may never even notice that "they" are being watched, the residents of the cemetery seem to be happy watching the excitement from afar.  Well, that is......except for one little girl!!!

Over the years, the cemetery  has been known by many different names, including the United Methodist Cemetery and the Dog Street Cemetery.  For a long time, it was simply referred to as the Dill Cemetery or the Hoff Farm Cemetery to reflect the names of the various landowners.  In the late 1800's, the King Powder Company opened for business, and although it ceased operation in the 1940's, the King family continued to own the land until large portions of it were purchased to create Kings Island Amusement Park in 1972.  Almost all of the existing buildings on the property were demolished to make way for the park's rides.  The cemetery, however, was allowed to stay.  Well, that's a good thing right?

Today the cemetery sits quietly behind a wooden fence at the far end of the Kings Island parking lot.  Since it is only about twelve feet from the pavement, a popular urban legend state that the girl in the blue dress ghost arrived on the scene when her grave was inadvertently paved over.  Another theory arises from the baffling disappearance of numerous gravestones over the years.  In the 1980's an unofficial count of the cemetery stones revealed that there were approximately sixty-nice stones within it confines, but in 2005, only fifty-two remained.  In the paranormal field it is believed by many that disturbing a final resting place of individuals often results in a haunting as the spirit searches to make its grave "whole" again.  Maybe this is why the little girl is seen....or maybe...just maybe.....she likes roller coasters!!! to!!

ON THIS ISLAND FULL OF THE DARK, BLOODSHED, DEATH, TORTURE AND JUST PURE EVIL.......MANY WILL COME, BUT FEW ...........WILL EVER LEAVE!

OH YES..... I DID IT!!!!! I WENT TO ALCATRAZ!!!!  And before I tell you about my experience let me just say...if you are wanting to GO to Alcatraz......Book your tickets at least FOUR-FIVE MONTHS in advance!  This was something that I did not know.....so our trip to one of the most famous HAUNTED prisons (and you guys know how I am about things that are HAUNTED) in the WORLD almost didn't happen.  I could see it from the shore......but would I ever get there????

Ok....Deak and I went on a WONDERFUL vacation to San Francisco where the number one stop for us was Alcatraz!  Everyone knows about Alcatraz and all the pure evil it has housed for so many years so I'm not going to go through it all again.  Here we go...

As you board a large boat that takes you across the water to Alcatraz you suddenly realize that this is exactly how the prisoners of Alcatraz would have been taken over.  Then your thoughts start to wonder....as the boat is hit with crashing waves over the top of the bow and rocking from side to side all you can do is stare out in front of you hardly blinking........ not even realizing what a rough ride it is to cross the water.......because you can't take your eyes of this impressive large "rock island" with unknown structures on it.  As you get in the mind-set of what a prisoner must have been thinking.....the ride in front of you means.......chains.....torture.....no freedom......and more than likely .....DEATH.....and as you turn to look behind you....you see the beautiful shoreline of San Francisco with the blue sky's smiling over the city in all it's glory knowing that from this point on.....EVERYDAY you will be able to look across the water and see what you left behind..... just out of your reach...... from an island of pure HELL!!!!  To me,  let the "CRAZY" set in!!!

First, for some reason I expected it to be bigger.  But no less extraordinary!  It is now a National Park and is home to lots of birds.  Yes...I said birds!  But the one thing I didn't expect was this place to be covered with flowers and greenery!  It was beautiful!!! You walk up a very steep incline to get to the main prison.  So get your walking shoes on....and don't even think about wearing any kind of a heel.  Bad, bad idea!!!

Now, I am going to try and make this short and sweet and just let you guys watch the video which has a lot of pictures and I posted some REALLY AMAZING EVP's at the end of it.  When you go to Alcatraz DON'T expect to have to much "alone time".  No!  Not THAT kind of ALONE TIME.....the ghostly kind!!!  The way this works is that you go in and they give you a headset and you are walked through the prison and told about different cells and inmates.  Eventually, people start to spread out and you have a little more room to do your own thing.  This I liked.

There were several times I found myself alone on a whole cell block.  And just for the record...it is SUPER CREEPY to walk all alone down on of these cell blocks...especially being a woman.   I could almost FEEL the hands reaching out for me and imagine men gawking at me.  But I stayed true to the task at hand and that was to get some EVP's and hopefully some good evidence...a mist...or you know something like that.....I just did it with a little "quicker" step!!!

It is amazing....this place and all the evil that has been surrounded by these walls.  When you are inside you feel all the pain and despair of the inmates that lived here.  But once you walk outside....literally it is like walking into a beautiful botanical gardens!  The flowers and greenery just take your breath away!

Now, I wish I could say that I had a ton of paranormal experiences but the truth is other than a few EVP's I didn't really capture anything in my photos.  I can tell you that when I was alone on one of the cell blocks I DID hear in real time a whistle and voices which I captured on my recorder.  Wait to you hear them!

Ok.  That's it.  I'm going to let you watch the video and listen to the EVP's.  Hope you guys enjoy it and it is a bit long...so if you just want to get to the "GOOD STUFF" just jump toward the end to listen to the EVP's.  Listen....we all do it!!! :)  Have a great week everyone!

THE EASTER SUNDAY MASSACRE-NO PLACE TO HIDE FOR ONE FAMILY

HAPPY EASTER EVERYBODY!!!

On Easter Sunday, we (my family) do what millions of other people do on Easter.  We color the eggs the night before and make a BIG mess in the process....we get dye on our clothes, dye on the table and chairs and yes sometimes we stick the tip of our fingers in the dye to see if we can dye each finger a different color (ok, I know all families don't do that, but hey...what the heck...it's fun!  Not so fun to get off though. lol). Then Easter morning, we go to church, come home and put on our "comfy" clothes,  have a nice lunch and then it's EGG HUNTING TIME!!!!! The adults hide a THOUSAND eggs and the kids grab their baskets just waiting to hear that one little word.....GO!!!!!!!!!

On Easter Monday, March 31, 1975 the Ruppert family was doing just the same thing.  (Ok...maybe not the dying the finger tip part) The family gathered together to enjoy a beautiful Easter day.  But this would be an Easter that the entire country would NEVER FORGET!

James Ruppert, then 41, shot 11 members of his family, including his mother, Charity; his brother, Leonard Jr.; his sister-in-law, Alma; and their eight children — Leonard III, 17; Michael, 16; Thomas, 15; Carol, 13; Ann, 12; David, 11; Teresa, 9; and John, 4 — in his mother’s home on 635 Minor Avenue in Lindenwald. Ruppert was convicted of two counts of murder and received a verdict of not guilty by reason of insanity for the other nine killings. He was sentenced to 11 life sentences, and is currently in the Allen Correctional Institute in Lima.

James Ruppert's early life was troubled. His mother Charity said that she would have rather had a daughter, and his father Leonard had a violent temper and little affection for his two sons. Leonard died in 1947 when James and his brother Leonard Jr. were 12 and 14, respectively.
Leonard Jr. became the father figure of the family and constantly picked on James during their upbringing. At 16, James was so dissatisfied with his home life that he ran away and attempted to commit suicide by hanging himself with a sheet. He was unsuccessful and returned home.

At the age of 41 James had moved back in with his 65-year-old mother Charity Ruppert in Hamilton, Ohio. Charity was frustrated with her son's inability to hold a steady job and his constant drinking; she threatened to evict him. James also owed his mother and brother money, having lost what little he had in the stock market crash of 1973-4.

On Easter Sunday, the eight children of James' older brother Leonard, were enjoying an Easter egg hunt in the front yard, while the adults were making lunch in the kitchen. At 4:00PM James woke from his hangover, loaded a .357 magnum, two .22 caliber handguns and a rifle. He killed his brother, sister-in-law/ex-girlfriend, and mother. Then he killed his nephew David, and nieces Teresa and Carol in the kitchen. He then went to the living room and killed his niece Ann and four nephews, Leonard, Michael, Thomas and John.

He killed his victims by shooting them with a disabling shot and finishing them off with a shot to the head or through the heart. The whole massacre took 5 minutes. James sat in the house for three hours before calling the police. County prosecutor John Holcomb viewed the crime scene and stated that there was so much blood on the first floor, it was dripping through the floorboards into the basement, which to this day can still be seen on the wood. A total of 35 shots had been fired by Ruppert and all 4 weapons were recovered at the scene.

The night before the murders James went out as he did nearly every night. At the 19th Hole Cocktail Lounge he talked with employee Wanda Bishop, a 28-year-old mother of 5. She would later state that James told her he was frustrated with his mother's demands on him and his impending eviction and that he needed to solve the problem. He left the bar at 11:00 PM that night and later returned. When Bishop asked him if he had solved the problem, he replied "No, not yet." James stayed at the bar until it closed at 2:30 AM.

James reportedly told authorities who arrived on scene: "My mother drove me crazy by always combing my hair, talked to me like I was a baby, and tried to make me into a homosexual". As for motive, it was believed James was looking for an inheritance of $300,000. He would plead insanity, then become "cured" after getting a "Not Guilty" verdict, with all that cash just waiting for him. Unfortunately for James, it didn't turn out that way.

All contents of the home were auctioned off a year later. The first family to live in the house after the murders were unaware of the crime that had taken place. They sold the house after hearing voices and other unexplained noises. Over the years other families have moved in and out.

Even though this weeks post was sad, I hope you can now put it behind you and go and have a wonderful EASTER!!!  But don't forget to come back next Tuesday! :)

THE ADOLPHUS HOTEL-MY PERSONAL APPARITION MAID!!!

Well, I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentines Day.  Man, I sure did.  And I can't wait to share with you guys what happened on my Valentines Day surprise!

First, my boyfriend (Deak) and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner and then he surprised me with a nights stay at the haunted Adolphus Hotel in Dallas, Tx.  I was so surprised and EXCITED!!!  The Adolphus Hotel has been reportedly haunted for years.  I'll tell you more about it in a little while.

First, this hotel is downtown Dallas and has had some VERY prestigious people stay here.....presidents, the QUEEN (yes THAT QUEEN...Elizabeth), many actors and movie stars.  It is just a beautiful place and with its elegant décor takes you a step back in time.  Made me just want to put on a 20's dress and set down in the lobby for teaaaaaa..(my hand is in the air and my pinky finger is extended even though you can't see it, I think you get the idea)

Ok, now about my night.  You ARE NOT going to believe it!!!  When Deak and I arrived, it was Saturday night and the night before Valentines Day so there were lots of people at the hotel.  We checked in and decided to walk around and check out the lobby area.  There was a beautiful little antique bar so we ordered a couple of drinks and took them with us as we walked around by ourselves.  We went into this GORGEOUS restaurant called the French Room just as it was closing.  The waiters were very nice and let us in to take a few pictures before closing for the night.  There were angels all on the top of the cathedral ceiling that I could have just starred at all night long.  There was just such a peaceful feeling in this room.  I loved it!!!

There are tons of beautiful giant paintings hanging on the walls in the lobby. Also, palm trees and plants everywhere which I love!!!  Tons of couches and little seating areas that are so quaint and cozy all in different colors and patterns of mostly deep, dark blues and tans. The lobby has rich, dark wood walls and pillars. A very relaxing place to say the least.

After about an hour, Deak and I decided to head to our room. We were in room 808 on the 8th floor.  As we were walking up to our room I said to Deak, "I wish I had known which hotel we were coming to so I could have done some research on it and found out about what spirits are reported lingering around.  I have always heard the Adolphus was haunted but at the time couldn't remember any of the claims..

Now, I have been suffering from sciatic nerve problems in my hip and my leg (very painful if you have ever experienced it, but seems to be fairly common) so sleeping is very difficult for me right now.  So to turn over I almost always have to wake up and kinda sit up to turn over.  Don't ya'll feel sorry for me......sad face ;(  LOL

Now, I have been investigating the paranormal for over 34 years and I have ONLY seen one full bodied apparition in all these years.  It's not like on TV where you see an apparition every time you go ghost hunting.  Now, I have seen shadows.......mist.......orbs......you name it but I pride myself on not saying everything I see is a ghost or apparition. Actually, SEEING an apparition is very rare.  Anyway, back to my story.....

It was about 5:30am in the morning, and my hip was hurting me so I was trying to sit up and turn over.  As I raised my head up I glanced at the clock sitting on the night stand that said 5:30am.  I braced myself with my arms and sat up to turn over.....and as I did.........I looked at the foot of the bed and saw..............ARE YOU READY.......I saw an older lady in a white apron like dress....I assume it was a dress I could only see the upper half of her body because we had a couch that was at the foot of the bed and she was standing behind it.  OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AM I REALLY SEEING A LADY STANDING AT THE FOOT OF THE BED.........I closed my eyes and  then opened them again ..........and THERE SHE WAS.....her hands folded in the middle of her chest almost like if she was holding flowers (without the flowers).  I could see she had white hair pulled behind her ears like in a lose "bun" hairdo.(Guys if you don't know what a BUN is, just ask your wife or girlfriend)  I could also see her eyes and her facial expression was that of hhhuummm ....the "I'm watching you look".  Know that look???  One eyebrow cocked just a little higher than the other.  And she did have that white glowing light around her just like you see on TV.  At least TV gets it right sometimes.

Anyway....I turned my head to wake Deak and when I turned back.....she was GONE!!!  I started telling Deak I just saw a GHOST!!!  He said, that one of the most widely seen spirits was that of a lady in white supposedly the spirit of a bride that hung herself after her future husband left her waiting for him on her wedding day.  I looked at him and said "NO.  This lady was not a young lady nor was she dressed in a wedding dress.  She was old and had what seemed like a maids uniform on!"

Now, I knew we were going to stay in a haunted hotel but didn't know which one. Deak had told me to pick two pieces of equipment to bring so I brought my camera and a parascope.  A parascope lights up with bright colors  when it picks up TriboElectric Fields and follows them Visually.  Tailored for Paranormal Investigation's to detect Fields we cannot see with our eye's such as the hair lifting up from one's arm during an investigation. So, I grabbed the parascope and sat it at the end of the bed where I had seen the lady in white.  I asked, "if I just saw you standing at the end of the bed please light up the parascope so that I can have validation that I really saw you".  And almost instantly it started to light up very, very slowly indicating a spirit presence.  PROOF FOR ME that I had seen her!!!  After that, I started asking questions but it never lite up again!!  What an experience!!!  That was two days ago and I'm still not over it!!!!!

So, as soon as I got home I tried to research and see if anyone else had reported seeing this older lady.  I only found one site that said there was a maid that died in the hotel after she had a traumatic health issue. Don't know what that means but ok.  And mostly the other reports are of the lady in white that everyone says is the bride that hung herself.  Now, I don't know, but I would definitely say the "LADY IN WHITE" I saw was in a maid uniform.  They are doing a lot of remodeling on the hotel which was built in 1912 and the whole 19th floor is blocked off because of the remodeling.(the 19th is supposedly the most haunted)  Maybe.....just maybe......there are more spirits lingering in this hotel and the remodeling are making them restless.  I don't know....but I DID see a ghost in room 808 and no, I did not feel threatened by her whatsoever........ but I do think she might have been ready for us to get up so that she could make the bed!!!!! LOL  I'm not sure she knows the check out time is 11:00! LOL

So, the next time you visit the Adolphus Hotel.....ask for room 808 and see if YOU have your very own PERSONAL MAID!!!

Beautiful carvings on the piano.

Do you see the orbs in this picture?

Room 808
Can you find two maybe three orbs?
