About Me

My photo
Behind Every Cloud is a Kindred Spirit (BECKS)I lost my grandfather when I was 17. I had a VERY difficult time getting over it. How could I still communicate with him? I loved him so much I didn't think I could live without him. I read everything I could get my hands on to do with the "afterlife" and that started it all...the love of Ghost Hunting and the Paranormal. I have been researching the paranormal for over 37 years!! It is my way of staying in touch with my grandfather. Being a Ghost Hunter is not always as exciting as it seems on TV. Many nights I have sat in the dark and not a thing happened. BUT it is those times you DO get that one voice, that one explainable picture or have an experience that sends chills down your back that makes it sooo worth it all!!! My purpose of this blog is not to make people believe in ghosts but maybe to open their minds just a little bit... I LOVE this crazy thing called Ghost Hunting. It is as much a part of me as breathing. I am just a girl that refuses to accept we can't still contact our loved ones after they die. My grandfather won't let me.

THE HAUNTING HOUSE OF ROSALYNN CARTER'S HOUSE

Haunting History of:
Rosalynn Carter's “Haunted House,”Plains , Sumter County, Georgia, United States.
This creaky house on the Old Plains Highway, locally referred to as “The Haunted House” , west of Plains.Old Pains Highway was rented by the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter and their three sons from 1956 – 1961. Legendary ghost stories have inspired this location being dubbed as “The Haunted House.”
In 1976, during an interview with the National Enquirer, Rosalynn
Carter shared her family's haunted house stories.
The Carters rented an old Southern house in Plains, Georgia. Although she was not a true believer of ghosts, she recalled several instances of strange goings-on in the house. In fact, her experiences with the house started long before moving in. As a child growing up in town, she would do her best to avoid the house at all cost. But on the occasions when she did pass the empty house, she would often see flashing lights emanating from the attic. Former residents of the home spoke of sleepless nights when blankets were torn from their bodies as they lay in bed. A white dog had been seen on the front porch on several occasions, yet when approached, it would vanish. Another resident reported that one night his body was lifted out of his bed and placed on the floor, only to be placed back in bed again. Legend has it that the activity began after the building had been taken over by Union soldiers. The tortured souls of the soldiers killed during the skirmish are believed to still reside within its walls. She was so distraught by the rumors of haunting, Rosalynn decided to turn the "haunted bedroom" into a sitting area when the Carters moved in. During the years they rented, Rosalynn also reported that her son inadvertently uncovered a hidden room beneath the fireplace with nothing but a lone chair in it. She believed that the Union soldiers hid in this room, and perhaps this contributed to the rumors of the haunting.
But did she have a ghostly encounter herself? Although she never saw a ghost, she does admit to hearing eerie sounds each night that echoed in an empty attic. Sounds that sent chills up her spine.
From The Ghost Hunter's Guidebook: Chilling, True Tales of Hauntings Across America By Editors of Adams Media
Added Mrs. Carter: "It's a house you can fear, but love at the same time, because of its beauty."
(The Examiner [tabloid], May 3, 1983)
Former President and Mrs. Jimmy Carter lived with a terrifying ghost years before moving into the White House.
Their once magnificent antebellum home in Plains, Georgia was haunted by the eerie specter of a sobbing woman in a white dress and a mysterious phantom dog.
Built in 1850, the old wood frame plantation-style building was already the legendary haunt of ghosts and fearsome creatures of the night when Jimmy and his wife-to-be, Rosalynn Smith, were growing up in Plains. "When I was a little girl, my best friend was Jimmy's sister Ruth," Rosalynn recalled.
"We had to pass the haunted house to visit each other. We were about 11, and so afraid of the house that we took the long way around."
Amazingly, years later after Rosalynn had married her best friend's brother, the young couple had moved into the scary house.
From 1956 to 1960 they raised their three sons in the spook-filled home.
Almost immediately after they moved in, the mysterious forces lurking in the house reminded the new occupants that they were not alone.
Mrs. Carter said that one night they were startled by the sound of a loud crash coming from the front room.
"We waited a bit, then the whole family trooped in together, thinking a window had fallen shut. But the window was still wide open," she shuddered.
Inez Laster, who worked in the house as a cook during the early 1950s, also learned first hand of the menacing supernatural presences that haunted the scary room.
"Things would happen in that room," she whispered. "I could hear knocking on the door. Then it would open and shut and I'd hear walking. I'd see a woman with a long white dress coming from the cemetery."
"Sometimes I'd hear her walking on the attic stairs," the cook confided.
Mrs. Carter also recalled stories she heard of a tiny, silent, white dog which was said to appear on the front steps. It always suddenly vanished when someone reached down to pat it.
One of the most puzzling mysteries of the brooding old plantation house a small secret space squeezed between the attic and the haunted living room. The Carter boys discovered it one day as they were playing and noticed a loose brick in the hearth. They found that there was just room enough for about three men to hide.
Could it be that the little room holds the solution to the hidden secrets of the mystery phantoms that stalk the old house?

Plains remained a quiet Southern town until Jimmy Carter rose to political prominence in the 1970s.
Originally inhabited by the Muscogee people, by the 1840s three small settlements existed nearby: Plains of Dura, Magnolia Springs, and Lebanon. As railway access expanded into the region in response to increased cotton farming, these settlements coalesced closer to the new railway location.

LET THE "GOOD TIMES ROLL"..........WELL.....IF YOU'RE BRAVE ENOUGH!!!!!

Kings Island Amusement Park
I ran across this picture on Google and it caught my attention!  Two of my favorite things.....amusement parks and cemeteries!  So here's the story behind this super cool photo!!!!

Tons and tons of visitors every year come to the best amusement park in Ohio, Kings Island.  The trills and excitement of the rides.....the dips, the lift from your seat as you ride The Beast, the smell of cotton candy, the tilt-a-whirls slinging you from side to side and all you can think is....."I want to do it again"!!!!  Well, guess what?????  You are NOT the only one that finds the amusement park.....amusing!!!  If you look closely, you may just catch a glimpse of a ghostly young girl skipping through the Kings Island parking lot.

Often described as having blond hair and wearing a blue dress, she is apparently quite playful.  Some witnesses report that the little girl likes to play hide-and-seek among the cars, and park tram drivers claim she frequently darts out in front of the tram in a bizarre game of "chicken".  The girl's identity and her reasons for haunting Kings Island have long been debated, but most agree that her ghost originates from a local attraction you won't find  listed on any park map!

Next to the parking lot exit gates sits a cemetery in full view of all the visitors to the park.  Although, the visitors may never even notice that "they" are being watched, the residents of the cemetery seem to be happy watching the excitement from afar.  Well, that is......except for one little girl!!!

Over the years, the cemetery  has been known by many different names, including the United Methodist Cemetery and the Dog Street Cemetery.  For a long time, it was simply referred to as the Dill Cemetery or the Hoff Farm Cemetery to reflect the names of the various landowners.  In the late 1800's, the King Powder Company opened for business, and although it ceased operation in the 1940's, the King family continued to own the land until large portions of it were purchased to create Kings Island Amusement Park in 1972.  Almost all of the existing buildings on the property were demolished to make way for the park's rides.  The cemetery, however, was allowed to stay.  Well, that's a good thing right?

Today the cemetery sits quietly behind a wooden fence at the far end of the Kings Island parking lot.  Since it is only about twelve feet from the pavement, a popular urban legend state that the girl in the blue dress ghost arrived on the scene when her grave was inadvertently paved over.  Another theory arises from the baffling disappearance of numerous gravestones over the years.  In the 1980's an unofficial count of the cemetery stones revealed that there were approximately sixty-nice stones within it confines, but in 2005, only fifty-two remained.  In the paranormal field it is believed by many that disturbing a final resting place of individuals often results in a haunting as the spirit searches to make its grave "whole" again.  Maybe this is why the little girl is seen....or maybe...just maybe.....she likes roller coasters!!! to!!

FROZEN IN TIME-THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS YOUNG WOMAN VOWING TO GET REVENGE!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

Well, here we go again!!!  Another year to "make things happen"!  Do what you want to do......be who you want to be......love who you want to love.....start that diet for the 5th year in a row....but MOST OF ALL.......ghost hunt your butt off!!!! LOL

My new year is bringing sooooooo many NEW THINGS that I am soooooo excited about........a new radio show, a new book and hopefully many more investigations of unbelievable haunted places!!! So you guys hang on......it's going to be a FUN RIDE!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought I would post a short and sweet story today because.......well..........just because I liked it. lol
So here we go.........oh wait before I forget.....be sure and watch in the next couple of weeks for my posting on the VERY HAUNTED LEMP MANSION in Saint Louis.  I just got to do a quick visit there this past Monday and I'll tell you all about it as well as hopefully have some ghostly pictures to show you and if I'm lucky maybe even a couple of Class A EVP's!

Ok....back to my story.

Vivia Thomas was the daughter of a wealthy Boston businessman and attended the finest schools.  One day, at a social gathering, she met a handsome army officer.  After a whirlwind courtship, they got engaged.  Vivia was on cloud 9 about her engagement but soon her happiness would turn into a terrible tragedy.  Shortly, before her wedding, the young officer disappeared, only leaving a note to Vivia that said he was going out west in search of adventure.  What a loser!!!!(Sorry, personal feelings got in the way there)  Vivia was enraged and embarrassed by the sudden disappearance of her beloved solider and SWORE she WOULD get her REVENGE!!!!!

After many hours of restless sleep, she found out that he had been stationed at Fort Gibson in Indian Territory.  Vivia came up with her REVENGE plan.......she would cut off her hair, put on men's clothes, and depart for Fort Gibson to enlist in the army.  Now, this girl was "TICKED OFF". lol Careful not to get caught, she watched the young officer and waited for her chance to put her DEADLY plan into action.  On a cold day in December an opportunity presented itself.  She stationed herself with a gun behind a rock she knew her ex-finance would ride by, and as he did, she shot and killed him,  When they found him, they assumed he had died at the hands of the Indians and brought his body back to the fort to be buried.

At first Vivia was extremely continent in knowing that she had gotten her revenge!!!!  But then guilt set in.  Each night she would go to his grave and weep.  On a frigid January night in 1870, she was overcome by her grief and weep herself to sleep.  The next morning, they discovered her frozen body.  The fort's doctor examined her corpse and found that the young soldier wasn't actually a man...the frozen body was that of a woman.  A priest in whom Vivia had confided then came forward, and her whole tragic story unfolded.

Today, you can find Vivia buried at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Oklahoma in a place called the Circle of Honor.  The Circle of Honor is for solider's who in some way "stood out" in the army.

Vivia's ghost is often seen weeping in soldier's uniform for her solider's forgiveness.  Who knows, if that peace will ever come.

HAUNTED NORTH DALLAS SCHOOL-DOES A LITTLE GIRL THAT DROWNED STILL ROAM THE HALLS LOOKING FOR HELP?-RE-POST

Well it's time of year that ALL parents have been waiting on.........SCHOOL STARTING!!!! Yes.  The kids are back at school and Mom and Dad are soooooo happy.......because that means early bedtime again!!!!!!!!

I thought I would write a quick ghost story about a haunted school here in Dallas in honor of the school season.  I have not personally gotten to investigate a school but I would love to!!!!

First, North Dallas, in the Oak Lawn area of Dallas, was one of the city's first high schools.  And part of its history involves ghosts.  More than one spirit reportedly roams its hallways after dark-a little girl in a blue dress who drowned in the old school pool over thirty years ago, a solider who died in
one of the wars, and an assortment of other presences who remain unidentified.

Ok...here is an account by Jason Thomas, an assistant baseball coach several years ago....

The head coach and I were in the team's locker room late in the afternoon, preparing for the upcoming season.  It was about three days shy of Christmas, and we were the only two people in the building.
The lights were off in the rest of the building, and if we ventured into the main building from the locker room, the alarm would be set off, bringing the Dallas police to the school within minutes.  In addition to the alarm system, the locker-room door was secured with a padlock.  Nobody but us was going to get into that room that day.
We were moving equipment around and discussing plans for the baseball season when the "secure" locker-room door creaked open.  And it was a way-over-the-top creak, the kind you hear in a scary movie.  But no one was there.  For the life of me, I don't know how a padlocked door could have been opened!
A few minutes after that, the head coach decided we should go out to the parking lot.  His wife was driving up to meet us for dinner, and we figured it would be nice if we were waiting out back when she got there.
As we passed the shower room, we heard a very faint yet rapid tapping on something metal-a peculiar sound we'd never there before.  Because the sort of stuff fascinates me, I walked into the shower room to investigate.  When I got to the center of the room, I was hit with the worst smell I've ever smelled in my life!  I turned around to discuss it with the head coach, but he was already hastily making his exit.
Driven out by the terrible stench, I followed the coach outside.  Before long, his wife came and we headed off to dinner.  As we left the school grounds, we saw a blue light shining through the window of the second floor classroom.  We immediately dismissed it as a computer monitor left on by someone before Christmas break rolled around.  At the restaurant, we spent a while laughing off the whole experience and explaining it away before our conversation turned to baseball.
On our return to the school, we saw something that left us shocked and confused.  The blue light we'd seen earlier at the back of the school had moved!!!  It was now floating in the third-floor stairwell on the buildings west side.  To our knowledge, there was no light bulb, computer, or even an electrical outlet in the third-floor stairwell.  I went back and confirmed this to be the case the next day.  We had a logical explanation for the blue light we'd seen earlier, but there was no way that a computer or anything else could have been plugged in on that third-floor landing.
Did the blue light have anything to do with the little girl in the blue dress??? I still wonder, even though we'll never know.

So before you send the kids off to school......don't forget to send the sage!!!!!!!! LOL

ABANDON YORKTOWN MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IS EXTREMELY HAUNTED!!!! PART 1

Oh yes it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Finally the wait to investigation the haunted Yorktown Memorial Hospital is here!!  Well...technically is was a week ago but finally got some cool stuff to show you!!!

I am going to write about this place in three parts...Part 1-The haunted talking doll room.  Part 2- The creepy Chapel and Part 3-And let me just say....that I DO save the best for last....the 2nd Floor Nun Living quarters.  They are so many things I want to share with you guys, I am just going to have to break it up.

Ok.  First I am going to try and make this fairly short and you know with me that sometimes can be a hard thing to do! LOL

This hospital has been investigated by the BEST of the BEST...the TAPS Team, Zak with Ghost Adventures and many others who have all deemed this place haunted! And now the ALL TIME AMAZING Beck's Ghost Hunters!!!!
We arrived at the hospital at 8:00pm straight up and YES.....it TOTALLY has the CREEP factor!!!  We were not allowed in during the day to check out the surroundings for things that might be a safety hazard....you know.....things that are sharp, or we could bump into and knock over, holes in the floor, loose stairs, you know things like that so we had NO idea what we were up against!

The very first room we walked into was like an old sitting room/dining room.  It was very dark and very dusty!  Lots of furniture and things in it to look at although I feel like lots of it had "just been placed there" to add character and not ORIGINAL to the hospital. But either way....we didn't care!  You could see down a long hallway but not really tell anything about it because it was so dark.  We set up basecamp in one of the little rooms and did I mention COLD?????  It was freezing!!!  As we were setting up basecamp a couple of team members found old hospital records just laying out for you to see.  I can say that throughout the hospital there are LOTS of documents of patients records that I found very interesting to look over.

As a group we decided it would be safer to explore the hospital all together first, then breakup into teams.  On the first floor is the creepy doll room, and the second floor is the living quarters of the nuns.  While we were on the second floor, at one of the far ends, we saw small footprints that looked like the barefoot of a small child.  There was a puddle of water that had pooled in one of the rooms that the footprints seemed to have walked through.  Now, one of our investigators said she had walked through the room but she had tennis shoes on.  To me, this looks like a bare foot that you can almost make out the toes at the top of the print.  I'll let you decide if they were made by a shoe or a small bare foot.

Notice the Orb on our investigator Belynda?
Is this Stacy, the little girl spirit sitting on
her lap as she reads to her???

Now, below is a video recorded by Michele Pellegrino, Founder and Lead Investigator of the White Dog Paranormal Group that had flown in to join us on this investigation along with her Tech guy, Anthony Pellegrino.  I love them!!!  This is a session where Belynda starts communicating with a doll!!!!

Now, this is a team member of Beck's Ghost Hunters that is doing the communicating with the doll....Belynda DiCiaccio.  The doll seems to be responding to Belynda's questions directly.  Now, before you start trying to debunk the video let me tell you a few things first.
First, the doll DID have batteries that we DID NOT put in it and it also had an on and off switch on the back of the doll.  So...One would assume that the doll might be motion active, right?  Wrong.  Belynda had her session and had great response from this doll.  I have never witnessed anything like this before.  So, when Belynda was done and had left the room, there was only three people left, and two other team members, Ruth Vickers and Craig Deacon.  I wanted to test that theory that it might be motion activated so I went into the room myself and started asking questions while walking around.  Did the doll talk back to me??? No!  Not even once!!!  I did not touch the doll from the time that Belynda walked out.  I was in the room for more than 25 minutes and not ONCE did it say anything.  So, I wanted to test it even further so I went and got Belynda and asked her to come back in and see if the doll would talk with her again.  And after about 5 mins the doll started responding to questions from Belynda just as it had done before!!!

We had several bright orbs that we caught on camera.  If you investigate here, be aware that there are tons of bugs, so be sure and debunk your bugs from your orbs. LOL

Creepy doll!!!

Still shot of the apparition that appears out
of the wall behind Belynda.  The white light
above the baby bed.

Now, take a good look at my video.  I recorded this the second time Belynda returned to the doll room.  Notice a very white light that seems to appear out of the wall just above the baby bed and then disappears into the wall again.  I believe this is an apparition!

In the Creepy Doll Room with TALKING DOLLS!!!!
This was my video I took of Belynda and check out what is
behind her!!!!  There is an apparition that comes out of the
wall above the baby bed and then disappears back in the wall.
It appears as a white light.

Guys......let me tell you.....more great stuff is on its way!!! So check back for Part 2 and Part 3.  I PROMISE you won't be disappointed!!!!! Awesome EVP's........more great orbs........a full body apparition that walks right in front of us.....and a door that opens and closes on its own!!!!  You DON'T want to miss this!!!!

Have a great week everybody. :)

WHITE ROCK LAKE, DALLAS,TX- I DON'T REMEMBER EVER BEING SO SCARED!!!

Halloween_05.gif
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!  IT'S FINALLY OCTOBER!!!!!  My favorite time of year!!!!!!  I love it!!!!

Ok.  Back to business....White Rock Lake, Dallas, Tx.   This beautiful lake is located just north-east of Dallas.  Now, I have heard about White Rock Lake for years and the story of the "lady in white" that supposedly haunts it shores.  And it could just be me.....but almost every HAUNTED location has a "lady in white" apparition associated with it, so I have never put much stock into the haunting........until NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

0409_whiterock10.jpg Reports of a ghost of a twenty year-old looking girl, described as wearing a soaked 1930s dress, who usually appears at night along the roadside of East Lawther Drive. Witnessess claim the phantom asks to be taken to her home on Gaston Avenue in Dallas before disappearing in the car during the ride. Legend claims the woman to be a drowning victim during a boating accident in the 1930s. Reports of the ghostly encounters were published in Dallas-area newspapers in the 1960s.
Another story is that on November 24, 1942, another distraught woman, 35-year-old Rose Stone of Mansfield, Texas, also committed suicide by drowning herself in the lake. Her body, dressed in sweater and skirt, was discovered in eight feet of water near the municipal boathouse by Johnnie Williams, who assisted the park superintendent and city fireman in the search. A note was pinned to her sweater asking that relatives in Fort Worth be notified of her death. Mrs. Stone's coat and hat were found on the shore.

A friend and fellow team member who lives close to the lake offered to take me out to the lake and so off we went!  Now, I can say this....at night...I DON'T get a warm and cozy feeling about this lake.  I don't know why...just don't.

Now, I have been investigating the paranormal for more than 30 years.....and I can honestly say....my experience at this lake was like none other I have EVER had!!!  In other words.......scared the crap out of me!!!!!!  My friend John and I were riding around the lake stopping every now and then to take pictures.  It was already creepy....but what happened next I will NEVER FORGET!!!  We took a small road John said he had never been down before.  As we pulled into a small turn around area, we saw this very long, tall structure, with windows broken out and tall narrow metal doors.  It was crazy looking.  John was like "what is this place?  I have never seen this before".  For lack of a better description....it reminded me of like war bunkers....all in a row.  It had to have at least 20 doors and windows all in a row, and at night it was WAY WAY CREEPY!!!

I said, "what do you think?  Should we get out and see what this is?"  John says, sure.  John had been  driving so he got out on the drivers side and stepped away from the car to take pictures of some sort of building that was on his side.  Now, from the minute I opened the door, I had a "cold chill".  What WAS this place????  I just couldn't make sense of what it would be down here at this beautiful lake???  It just didn't fit in.  As I started to walk away from the car and into the moonlight that was providing me enough light to make my way over to this strange place....just as I lifted my camera to start taking pictures, I heard a noise.  At first it wasn't loud and I wasn't for sure what it was.  So, I put down my camera so I could listen better and see if there was......maybe a person or animal walking up to the car....but it DID NOT sound like footsteps!!!!  It was something else!  I turned and looked over my shoulder to see if John was hearing anything and he obviously wasn't because he was just starting to take pictures and didn't seem distracted by any noise.  Is this my imagination??? Maybe I'm just edgy because we had been to some pretty scary cemeteries before we came out to the lake.

As I slowly turned back around, I realized it WASN'T my imagination!!!!!!!!!!!  There was something there and it was getting closer and closer to me!!!  My heart was beating so fast, and I was trying so hard to be calm and come up with a responsible explanation as to what I was hearing.   I kept looking around and could see NOTHING.....but SOMETHING was getting closer and closer to me....and it WASN'T walking......it WASN'T like footsteps.......it was SWISHING!!!!!!!!!! Which just confused me more????  What the heck!!!  The SWISHING just kept getting closer and closer and with every second it was getting louder and louder..........it was coming right up to me and getting right in my face!!!!!!!!!!!!  You know you have that space around your body that is your comfort zone and when people get to close...you tend to step back because they are to close to you.............well THIS was TO CLOSE!!!!!!!!!!!  I wasn't imagining it.....but yet I could not SEE anything....but MOST DEFINITELY a presence was there.  All of the sudden, I had this terrible pain in my stomach....it was a physical pain.....and I knew WHATEVER this was.....I had to get away....and quickly!!!!!!!!!!   I started screaming at my friend to GET IN THE CAR NOW.....WE HAVE TO GET OUT OF HERE!!!!!!!!!  He was so confused and was like "what's wrong.....what happened?"  I said JUST GET IN THE CAR....SOMETHING IS HERE AND WE HAVE TO LEAVE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!

We jumped in the car and all I could say was "SWISHING.......SWISHING....IT WAS RIGHT UP NEXT TO ME!!!!"  He said.....did you hear footsteps?????  I kept saying NO....it wasn't footsteps...it was SWISHING AND IT WAS RIGHT IN MY FACE!!!!!!!!!!  As John drove off...I looked back over my shoulder to see if I could see anything..........and there was nothing there....nothing but the shadows of this strange building.

I was shaking and trying to catch my breath!!!  Was something trying to enter my body?  Was something going to hurt me?  I just didn't know!  After we drove off I started to apologize to John and tell him how sorry I was that I reacted that way.  I just don't scare that easy....and I can't remember one time that I wanted to run.....but this time I DID!!!!  I was sooooo mad at myself for reacting that way!!!  I have NEVER had that kind of experience were something UNSEEN was right in my face!!!!  It was like any minute I was going to feel the breath of SOMEONE or SOMETHING on my face!!!  Now, you guys don't tell anyone about that part......I am STILL the great, not scared ghost hunter!!! LOL

The next morning John called someone that worked for the property and found out what we saw was an old abandon boathouse that was built way back in 1930. I still don't understand the design of the building it just doesn't look like a boathouse at all!!!  It's creepy.  And yes, reports of hauntings have been reported from there.  After John told about the abandon boathouse....I found the story above about Rose Stone committing suicide at the boathouse.  NOW IT MAKES SENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The SWISHING.............the SWISHING of WET CLOTHES!!!!!!!!!  THAT IS WHAT I HEARD!!!!!!!!! Was Rose wanting me to contact her loved ones for her?  Did she want me to make sure people knew where to find her body??  I don't know.....but SHE or SOMEONE else that has drown in that lake......walked right up to me in wet clothes and I will NEVER FORGET IT!!!
