WHAT'S YOUR CALLING??? OR WHO ARE YOU CALLING?????????

You can't wait!!!!  It's FINALLY HERE!!!!  The night you are going on a ghost hunt at the creepiest, darkest most evil place you can imagine......wonder what kind of evidence you will get???? What will you see and what will you hear!!!

The equipment is all packed and your heart is beating so fast you can hardly stand it as you open the old wooden door.......as the door slowly swings open making that creepy sound we all here in the movies but IT'S REALLY happening to you......you take that first step in.......do you REALLY KNOW what you are UP AGAINST???? Have you really done all the leg work involved in this location???  Well....YOU BETTER HAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's that time of year, where everyone starts to wonder just a little more about the paranormal....ghosts....and haunted houses. They think how FUN it would be to go ghost hunting and just take a camera and a recorder to an old abandon house out in the woods that everyone SAYS is haunted.  They THINK they don't really have to know ANYTHING about the place other than it's haunted......."let's just go and see WHAT happens"!!!

I wanted to send out a warning to you guys, especially the younger people who are thinking around this time of year..... to go out and "conjure up some ghosts".  Listen, is ghost hunting exciting....YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT!!!!  Can it give you a RUSH like you never experienced before.......YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT!!!!  Can it be DANGEROUS.............YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!!!!

Here's the deal....when you go to a haunted location ONE of the first mistakes you can make is asking....."is ANYONE HERE who wants to communicate"?  It's kinda like.....going into a room full of people.   In this room there are regular people, convicts, murders, rapist, druggies but they all look alike and you don't know who is who but you ask "does anyone want a $1,000"????  How many people do you think will raise their hands?????  Here's the catch....they have to take a ride with you to your home to pick it up. Feel safe???? Sound crazy?  It is!!!!


It's the same thing with the spirit world.  IF you don't go in asking to SPEAK or COMMUNICATE with certain spirits more dominating spirits can take over and come through.  And don't be fooled....they can also disguise themselves to be SOMEONE they think you will respond to.  YES.....make no mistake......they CAN SOMETIMES BE DEMONIC!!!!

So, be sure that you UNDERSTAND the location and the spirits that are tied there.  Yes, I understand that you may not ALWAYS be able to find out ALL the names of spirits at a location but you be very careful and trust that little "enter voice" that says....I'm JUST NOT 100% comfortable with this communication. STOP.  Say your protection prayer and move on to another place, room or even location!

Listen you guys, ghost hunting can be fun but you REALLY need to know what you are doing!  If you want to experience the "spooky things" out there go with a professional or an experienced paranormal investigator.  Other than that.....have a fun a SAFE pre-Halloween season! :)

GHOST HUNTING-IT ISN'T ALL GREEN SLIME AND FLUFFY MARSHMALLOW GUYS!

This week the remake of Ghostbusters the movie is released.  Will I be going and seeing the movie?  REALLY??? Did you even have to ask????  I just thought with the release of the movie and with there being ALREADY so many shows on about the paranormal that maybe I should just throw out there some REAL facts about REAL ghost hunters.

The movie of course, is fiction with green, slimy ghost with big teeth and marshmallow guys with little blue hats.  I only wish that real ghost hunting was that simple.

I want to warn anyone that thinks after seeing the movie or watching the shows on TV that it is EASY to be a ghost hunter and ANYONE can do it.  NOT TRUE.  Sure....ANYONE can go out and take pictures and get a recorder to see if they caught an unknown voices or anything unusual in their pictures..... but take it from someone that has been ghost hunting for almost 35 years....it isn't a game and you are exposing yourself and those around you to REAL DANGER.  Now, I don't know about you but when I have surgery...I want someone that has years of experience and a PHD hanging on the wall....not someone that just started and wanted to do surgery because they thought it was fun to cut-open a frog and see what's inside.  Get the point???

Can ghosts hurt you? YES  Can ghosts follow you home? YES  Can ghosts KILL you?  YES
Now in knowing this, proceed with caution if this is the route you select.  I have been grabbed, touched, followed home and even threatened over the past years in ghost hunting.  I know some of you will say that "you don't believe me" and to you I say...."DON'T".  I am not here to make you believe or not to believe in ghosts.  The choice and your believes are yours...not mine.....and until you experience something from the paranormal world.....no matter what I say or show you can change your mind....and that's ok.  I just want you to know....that there is a real risk in trying to contact "the other side".

Here are just a few things you should know first.  You MUST know how to protect yourself and others.  You MUST know what you are up against.  You MUST have a strong faith.  You MUST also have a mindset of what it real and what is not.  Be willing to say that "shadow" was a cat and that "strange sound" was the wind.  IF you are not HONEST about your findings....what's the point??????  Take a break from it.  Sometimes ghost hunters can become obsessed with it!!!  They feel they are sooo close to capturing that one piece of evidence that will UNDENIABLY give them the proof that they soooo search for....the afterlife does exists!  This can also cause depression to set in from looking at sometimes gruesome pictures, reading about death and constantly reading about heartbreak and loss.  You MUST have reliable equipment.  And lastly...you MUST be able to say ENOUGH when ENOUGH is ENOUGH!!!

Now, is ghost hunting exciting? YES.....Can it be a great reward?  YES  Can it be thrilling?  NO DOUBT!!!  I love being a ghost hunter and I guess when I'm 80-90 (if I live that long)....I will still want someone to take me to an abandon house, a creepy cemetery, any place with paranormal activity.... just push me in my wheelchair out and leave me with a flashlight and a K-2 Meter and I'll be good!!!  I LOVE it that much!!!  Will I ever get the proof I need to prove to others that we can still communicate with our loved ones after they die.....truth be known....I already have that.....but finding better ways to communicate and help people in need will be forever a mission in my life.

WHERE DID THIS CEMETERY COME FROM???

                                                             McKinney, Texas

Who knew?  Deak and I were out driving around this past Sunday and we stopped at Garden Center just off Hwy 380 just before you get into McKinney, Texas.  Now, the Garden Center was closed so we just parked the car and was walking around looking at their trees and plants they had for sale.  There is nothing but concrete around and behind the Garden Center because McKinney has a big Trade Days open to the public every 3rd Monday and this Garden Center is located right in front of the Trades Day lots.

So, we walk toward the back of the lot and MUCH TO MY SURPRISE what do you think I see......right in the middle of this parking lot there is a cemetery!!!!   HOLY COW!!!!  Who would ever guess there would be a cemetery right in the middle of this big parking lot!!!!  It is the strangest thing to see a cemetery with just a few graves in it, a couple of trees and a small fence around it.  Now is it haunted???  I don't know.... but you can bet I will find out!  It just sits there minding its own business with a few trees around it, like ...this is my place and I am NOT moving know matter what is around me, I was here first!!! LOL   And I have to tell you...it was a little sad to me to think that soooo many people visit this area every month and know one takes care of the cemetery.  The stones are all broken.  Some have been laid against trees but most are just laying on the ground.  You can tell, it needs a lot of TLC.

when we were there, it seems that the Trades Day
has expanded the area and is all back behind the cemetery now.

So, what do you think the FIRST thing I did was when I got home???? You guessed it!!! I was on the internet looking up any and everything to do with Buckner Cemetery.


Now, I will say I couldn't find a lot on it, but the things I did find out, were VERY interesting.  Now, here's what I do know in summary...

Buckner was the first town in Collin County. It was named by John McGarrah for his home town of Buckner, Arkansas. When Collin County was formed in 1846 by the state of Texas, the residents were told to pick a county seat within 3 miles of the geographic center of the county and name it "Buckner." The residents picked the existing town of Buckner because it was the only town in the county. However, it was 7 miles from the center of the county. The exact center of the county is on the East Fork flood plain. Two sites were picked for the county seat. Eleven residents voted on the location of the county seat with 10 picking the present-day McKinney square location. They tried to name the county seat Buckner as instructed, but the post office said the name "Buckner" was already in use. The residents named the county seat "McKinney" after the man who was in the state legislature from this area, Collin McKinney. The stores in Buckner were literally dragged to the square in McKinney and the town of Buckner disappeared. There was a Kiowa Indian tribe that lived near Buckner. It was led by a chief named Spotted Tail. As long as the Kiowas lived there, no other Indians attacked the area.

The ancient McGarrah-O’Brien Cemetery is slightly Northeast of the site of Old Ft. Buckner, the first County Seat of Collin County, and is a part of John McGarrah’s headright. According to the Peters Colony book, “John McGarrah, a family man, came to Peters Colony in 1842 and claimed his headright of 640 acres. His patent was number 981.” He built a little store or trading post, primarily to trade with the Indians who brought in furs to trade for goods he sold in the little store. He is listed in the 1850 census of Collin County as a family man, age 45 and came to the area from Fayetteville, Arkansas, where the family migrated in 1821.

Only a few headstones remain in the old cemetery, but according to J. B. Wilmeth who was an elected official at the first election in 1846, it once had a large number of graves marked with Bois d’Arc slabs. (I know, I didn't know what Bois d' Arc slabs were either.  It is a type of wood that was very resilient to weather conditions.  It was often used as a marker for a grave and sometimes could even be carved into different shapes).

Franklin, son of David and Parmelia, July 23, 1853 - July 12, 1870
George W. O’Brien, Dec. 8, 1799 - June 30, 1876
Lorenzo J. Graves, 1818 - 1886
Reily, son of T. F. and A. F. Darnell, 1829 - 1880
Laurence, son of A. G. and N. J. Donaldson, 1879 - 1899
Mary Jane Donaldson, 1854 - 1886
Polly T. Graves, Sept. 22, 1822 - July 31, 1898

Then, too, the old Indian who lived with his small tribe near Buckner and is credited with saving the settlement from invasion of Comanche tribes is buried in an unmarked Christian grave at his own request (Kiowa chief, Spotted Tail). Chief Spotted Tail  has been called a hero because he helped bury people in the middle of the night so others would not have to who died in a smallpox epidemic in 1873. He died from smallpox himself  shortly after and was buried at the Buckner cemetery. He was given a white man's burial.

 

You can bet there will be a PART 2 to this story.  I will let you know what I find out about if it is haunted or not after I do an investigation.  CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

VOICE OF AN ANGEL!!! JUST HAD TO SHARE!

THE HAUNTED OLD ELLERBE ROAD SCHOOL, SHREVEPORT, LA. CHILDREN BURNED TO DEATH IN GYM---BUT IS SCHOOL STILL IN SESSION???

Old Ellerbe Road School, Shreveport, LA.

What an eerie place?  And the hauntings associated with the Old Ellerbe Road School are just as scary!!!

Reportedly, an evil janitor from the school, molested a collection of children then gathered them up, locked them in the gym, and set fire to the building, leaving them to burn alive.  It is said that the mournful cries of children can still be heard throughout the crumpled remains.  

One night a group of teen's decided to find out if the tales were true or not, so without permission, they stepped over the fence, disregarding the "do not disturb" sign and went in.  By the fading beam of their flashlight, they walked past the graffiti-covered walls and took in the sight of the devastation.  There before them, in place of lockers loomed a life-size mural of the grim reaper.  Not deterred, they continued on.  Slowly, they walked through overgrown weeds and dirt-filled halls until they reached their final destination, the gym.  They could tell by the black, charred bleachers that they had found what they were looking for. 

As they stood there in silence, as all of the sudden the stories seem to be true that were rushing through their heads.  All of the sudden, the door slams shut!  The sound of a school bell ringing echoed in the charred walls, and muffled cries of children calling out for help and many calling out for "mommy"!!!!

Terrified, the group ran out of the building.  Whether or not the experience will fade from their memory, we will have to wait and see.

How tragic is this story???  If you have ever been to the Old Ellerbe Road School, I would love to hear what you think about it. 

IS THERE MORE PARANORMAL ACTIVITY AFTER A NATURAL DISASTER?

The simple answer is "yes".  It has long been reported that after a natural disaster has occurred  that people almost immediately start to report sightings of ghosts.  Think about all the reasons someone "stays behind"....... unfinished business, can't leave their loved ones, confused-don't know they are dead and many more ......who really knows but wouldn't you agree that in a natural disaster ALL of those reasons would be running through the minds of the victims?  Where there were a lot of "emotional attachments" or "feelings" at a location.....usually the paranormal activity is pretty high.

So, if you think about it.....in a natural disaster such as a hurricane, tornado, earthquake, fire, explosions, etc. what do all these things have?  EMOTION.  Can you imagine the FEAR and the CONFUSION during a natural disaster as a earthquake or hurricane?  Where are my loved ones? What is happening? Am I going to die? What will my loved ones do without me? What about my beloved pets....who will take care of them?  I can't die, I won't get to see my kids grow up?  My husband or wife can't make it without me!  ALL of these things running through YOUR mind......now take that and times it by hundreds and thousands of people thinking the same thing!  The energy in a location like this must be crazy!!!!Confusion, helplessness and chaos running through the minds of the living..........but also of the DEAD!!!
 
So many times spirits don't even KNOW what happened to them.  Things happened so fast that they don't even realize that they have died and so they try live the same way they always did.   But now maybe with a bit more confusion as to what happened and why their loved ones don't see them or respond to them.  And for us the living, sometimes this can be very hard.  Because keep in mind, helping them into the light, going to heaven, crossing over whatever you want to call it, is what we need to do..... being STUCK is not where you want your loves.  So as hard as it may be, we must let them know what happened and that they have died and need to move on.  I know if I lost my grandparents in a natural disaster and didn't get to say "Bye" or tell them "I loved them" it would be hard for me.....but here's the thing......keeping them HERE with US is a little on the selfish side.  Sorry, but that's they way I feel.  Keeping them HERE is for US to feel better, NOT what is best for THEM.

You know me, I am going to put it in "Becky Terms".  It's like having a beautiful butterfly in a jar.  Man...it is soooo pretty to look at and it makes you smile every time you look at it......BUT is being in that jar REALLY what is best for the butterfly??? Or would it be better to let it go.....so that it could fly up into the sky roaming around where ever it likes? Anyway, you get the picture. :)

It is VERY sad when something like this happens, and make NO MISTAKE ABOUT IT.....my heart goes out to anyone who has ever had to deal with this, but it does cause a location to become more haunted or active.  So, if you are ghost hunting, a site where a natural disaster occurred is probably a good location to investigate.  And again, be respectful of the place you are investigating.
